Announcement

Isamu was on a bus ride to his school, he dusted off the dirt off his black uniform with one hand while holding on to the bar with the other as he had to stand in the packed bus. "You should cut your hair," a random old lady said to him as she looked at his large dark wolf cut sitting next to him. "I don't think so," he said with a cheeky rebellious smile and looked away to the streets outside. It was raining and Isamu could only think back to a few hours earlier when his mom told him to take an umbrella with him just in case it rained.

Not long after he got off the bus and ran towards his school while covering his head with his green bag, the school was just like any other, a large white building. He walked through the hallways and entered his class (Class 3-B). The teacher was not in the class yet and all the other students were just talking and teasing each other. Isamu took a seat in the middle row and sighed looking at his slightly wet shoes.

"Hey, Isamu. You're coming to practice later right?" asked one of his classmates, Denji. He had short dark wavy hair, brown eyes, and a lean tall body similar to Isamu.

"Yeah, I think so. I'm feeling cold today so I guess it'll be a nice way to warm up," Isamu replied with a slight smile as Denji continued to talk to the girl in front of him. Girls wore a white shirt with a beige vest on top and black skirt. The boys wore black jackets and trousers with a white shirt on the inside.

The day passed quickly, Isamu and Denji went to practice after classes with the rest of the volleyball club. They all wore an orange practice jersey with black shorts though their official jersey was yellow and black on official matches. Isamu was a setter and Denji was a wing spiker, it had been this way ever since they met in middle school. Their friendship revolved around volleyball mostly, though both of them liked it that way. Isamu was more introverted anyway and Denji was very outgoing so they were polar opposites on any other aspect except volleyball.

After practice, Isamu changed back into his uniform and started to walk to the bus stop. Then he effortlessly jogged splashing the water on the sidewalk as he saw the bus from afar as it departed. He just sighed and continued walking through the streets. After a short while, Isamu came upon a golden-colored dog that wouldn't stop barking at a small wooden house on the narrow side of the empty street. Isamu quickly got irritated by the noise, he promptly took out his noise-canceling headphones and wore them on his head.

Isamu had an accident when he was six years old which made him sensitive to loud noise. He quickly then diverted his attention back to the dog which was still barking towards the house. Isamu went close to the house.

"Hello, is anyone home?... I think your dog wants to go back inside." The dog started whimpering as Isamu began to get closer to the house.

'Oh, what the hell, I need to get home,' Isamu thought as he walked away from the house. Later on, Isamu sat at his desk back home in his room doing his homework. 'Homework, what an absolutely dumb concept. Can't I at least be free to do what I like when I'm in the hospitality of my own home? Then there's college which I haven't really even thought about yet, I don't even see the point in all this,' he thought as he put his pen down and looked at his clear white ceiling. 'Aren't we going to die in like 60 years, or less? Then awaits an eternity of peace with God or an eternity of suffering with the devil.'

Isamu grew up in a Christian household which was very rare for that region. The next morning, Isamu was on a packed bus again on his way to school. He was sitting down by the window this time with his hands in his pockets to keep them warm. Then the bus started to approach the small house from the day before. The dog was still barking at the house, it felt much stranger to Isamu today. 'What is the dog barking at? Is that not his home?' he wondered. Isamu went to class like any other day and sat at his desk.

Isamu just laid his head on the table looking towards the window where Denji sat. He noticed a large flock of birds cawing as they flew by, he had never noticed this many birds flying together. It made Isamu feel even more uncomfortable. "Something is so off today," he said banging his head against his desk again and again.

"You say something Isamu?" Denji turned to him and asked. Isamu just sighed, "Just seeing things, this dog was just barking at this old wooden house yesterday."

Denji chuckled, "Oh yeah, I saw that on my way home yesterday too. You're not seeing things."

"Yeah, but this morning I saw the dog still barking at the house. Do you think his owner died inside there?" asked Isamu.

Denji opened up his Math book and started reading, "I don't know maybe. There are a lot of old folks around there."

"And the flock of birds that just passed by were the size of three flocks. I've never seen so many traveling like this."

Denji turned his face towards him, "Maybe you are seeing things."

Isamu chuckled, "Yeah, I guess I'm just trying to entertain myself."

"Good morning and please settle down," said a teacher as he walked in. He had short brown hair and dark eyes. He wore gray trousers and a blue shirt with reading glasses on. Mr. Kazuki Endo, their Math teacher.

The class went silent and each student gave their attention to the teacher. The class proceeded as it usually did with some students whispering around, some secretly using their phones while Isamu took a nap on his desk. As the class was about to end the PA systems all around the school crackled to life. Isamu quickly woke up and covered his ears with his hands.

Then an announcement was made, "Good morning students and teachers, this is Principal Daisuke Tanaka. The school is now on lockdown due to an emergency. No student or teacher is allowed to leave the school campus until told otherwise. Please remain calm as you are not in any immediate danger, classes will proceed as usual. More information will be announced once we are aware, thank you."
