After the great war, humans were left without a source of magic and resources. So they had to ask for protection from the Dragon kin. The Dragon kin reluctantly agreed to protect the remaining humans and helped them in rebuilding their kingdom, so the humans could have a foothold in the world without relying too much on the Dragons. That kingdom was called the Kingdom of Towarre. To honor all the soldiers and civilians who died in the war, the Humans erected a statue in the center of their capital city.
“The statue resembles my mother, the heroine of this kingdom and Queen of Heroes, Alicia Ein Horen”
I sighed as I closed the book. Reading this historical book always made me feel closer to my goal: succeeding my mother.
I’m Aoriel Ein Horen The Princess of the new Human Kingdom, the Kingdom of Towarre. My last name is a remnant of the old kingdom of Einhoren, also known as the Demon’s birthplace and source of the catastrophe. I refused to change it because I want to be like my mother, the heroine of this kingdom. My hair color is black just like my mom with rose colored eyes similar to quartz. I’m currently 15 years old and I must attend my first ball with my fiancé. This party is to celebrate the founding of our new kingdom under the protection of the Dragon Kin.
“Princess, the son of Duke Morrisen has arrived” said one of my maids, Abby.
Oh, he’s already here. Time to go greet my fiancé.
His name is Edward Morrisen, son of Duke Morrisen, the one who’s in charge of maintaining the economy in this kingdom. He has golden hair and citrine like eyes, although he’s still 16 years old, my fiancé already has the charm of a gentleman from high nobility. He’s also already considered as a suitable heir to the throne.
“Good afternoon, Princess Aoriel” said Edward with a charming smile.
“Good afternoon, Edward” I replied with a smile.
“Are you ready to join the ball? Everyone is waiting to see how beautiful you are”
“Of course, let’s go now” I answered while being unable to keep myself from blushing.
Me and Edward quickly arrived in the ball room located in the center of the castle, just in front of the throne room before being greeted.
“Princess Aoriel Ein Horen and Edward, Son of Duke Morrisen, has arrived”
Everyone got captivated by just looking at us, the silence making me a bit nervous. The etiquette I learned as a child helping me stay composed in order to keep a noble aura.

I then went to greet the other nobles in order to accomplish my duties as princess, causing me to hear something that caught my attention.
“The King’s still bedridden huh?” said some random unimportant noble.
“It’s been 8 years now, I’m even starting to forget how the King looks like”
“Well, losing your precious one really can change your mind”
Yes, my father the King is bedridden after losing my mother in the great war. Due to this the kingdom has been taken in charge by the 2nd queen, Queen Miria von Towarre. She has Brown hair, a color that is rather common in this kingdom and Amber eyes. Even though both her hair and eye colors are common, she’s still considered as a top beauty in this kingdom with a good personality. She always smiles at people and never talks badly about anyone including commoners, or not openly at least. Everyone in the kingdom loves her thanks to her personality and demeanor.
“Princess Aoriel, please come to the throne room for an audience with the queen” said a butler from the royal family.
“Alright, I’ll be going now. Edward, be sure to look at me in throne room. Okay?”
“Of course my princess, my eyes are for you only.”
After hearing that, I couldn’t stop myself from blushing again and quickly escaped to the throne room.
I was standing with my step brother Ludolf and my sister Lifiya, trying to stay composed while hearing the Queen’s speech. We never really talked to each other due to the castle being so big and us never seeing each other, so I was rather unfamiliar with them.
“Citizens of Towarre, tonight we are here to celebrate the creation of this kingdom, under the protection of this world and the Dragon kin. Everything has been stabilized : money, food, military, and other resources. Because of this, we can celebrate our kingdom’s founding with a happy face and huge smiles. Please Enjoy this party and have fun” said Queen Miria, my step mother.
After finishing her speech, she slowly walked towards me with a smile before asking “How are you Aoriel?”
“I’m fine my queen, it honors me that you would worry about me.”
“No no no, it’s fine, you’re still princess of this country after all. So it’s to be expected from me to be worried about you” said the Queen.
“Oh, is your fiancé here with you?” the queen continued.
“Oh yeah, he’s right there” I said as I gave a small wave to my fiancé.
Oh, he’s noticed and is smiling back to me.
“Great, well see you later” said the queen as she went to greet the nobles.
“I didn’t expect that you would wave at me with the queen at your side” said my fiancé while coming closer to me.
“Well it isn’t like anyone will notice it besides you anyway, so it’s fine.”
“There goes the so-called perfect lady” replied Edward.
“Its fine to change your character sometimes” I answered teasingly.
We talked, danced, and did many other things until the end of the founding party. The queen started to prepare her ending speech.
“Citizens of Towarre thank you very much for giving your precious time and attending this founding party, making it much better. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves” said Queen Miria as the party was ending.
“Wait!” said someone from the middle of the crowd.
They’re the representatives from the Dragon Kin Kingdom. 4 guys with bodies larger than regular humans, with a standing height of around 210cm. Their eyes shining like the moon and skin similar to lizards boasting a defense that is greater than steel. All of them had a different skin color, making it easy to differentiate them.
“My name is Crudroga and I’m the leader of the Dragon kin representatives for the human kingdom. I will announce that the Dragon kin will be ending this now.”
“I’m sorry, but what do the representatives of the Dragon kin want to end?” said Queen Miria with a confused look.
“We are ending our protection of the human kingdom that is.”
