The Restart, Somewhat Differently

The Restart, Somewhat Differently

When he first woke up in the strange new world, he was full of fear. However, as he slowly became aware of the abilities he possessed, he stepped forward into this world along with his classmates. Everything was good until people started falling into temptations.

The temptations corrupted the students one by one until everyone but he was full of greed. In the end, he had to slaughter each and every one of them, in the process, he was feared as the Devil King. Then the races who stood by those greedy fools foolishly waged war with him.

During that war, he met a few supporters, who, out of their own will, aided him. Over time, his power grew and all the races feared him and called him the Evil God. The supporters in turn were given his previous title as Devil Kings and Devils.

The war quickly ended as a tie. He didn’t actively destroy the races and the armies of the allied races were annihilated. In history books, it was recorded that he was sealed however. Time passed and his supporters died of old age. However, he himself had become immortal and could only watch them die happily.

The so called Evil God sat on his throne and with his near infinite strength, he reminisced his greatest regrets.

The first was the corruption of the students.

The second was the war against the allied nations.

The last and greatest was his incapability to give his supporters immortality.

Thus, he started researching, temporarily forgetting everything else and even manipulated the rules of the world.

He recrafted and reclassified his abilities. He went even further by giving order to the world’s system of abilities that others had. In the end, he couldn’t learn them however, not without ‘that’.

Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.

In the end, he completed his research and his abilities had reached to a state near omnipotence, a place where not even divinity could touch. With that near omnipotent power, he began rewriting the laws of the world, its system and time.

Then with all of his abilities, he updated Akasha, the realm of omnipotence, to make it so that there will be no paradoxes before he finally completed the process.

He, with all of his memories and soul, returned to the first time he woke up in the world.

Over the years, his personality had changed and had completely taken a new direction. He was a person with a twisted personality that wouldn’t care for others and would only move for his own benefits. However, over time he who was the greediest became the most virtuous. He cared for others as long as they had not betrayed him, and he would let them be as long as they had not stepped over the boundary that he set up.

However, that was only possible since he was powerful enough to not mind such things. Currently, his near infinite strength had disappeared and only what he used to possess when he first awoke in this world remained. His twisted part of him revealed itself and he began to think of various methods to grow stronger.

However when he opened his eyes, he had to wonder if what he had done was done correctly. However, after blinking once or twice, he understood. Since he had updated the Akasha, the fate of arriving into “that” world was no longer a certainty. Instead, he and his friends were dropped into an unfamiliar world. Immediately, he spread his psionic energy around the area to confirm where exactly he was only to be surprised.

He and his classmates were drifting through space on a small spaceship.

He blanked out for a few moments before using his psionic energy to confirm the existence of the System. He did, however it was significantly different from what he was used to.

Instead of a normal RPG style status, what he saw was a complex detailed map of his body and its current status in real time.

He moved onto the next tab, the skill tab only to see a massive tree of locked abilities.

He smiled bitterly, the status panel wasn’t as easy to use nor helpful as the one he was used to. However… After tinkering with the system using his psionic abilities, it became much more similar to the previous RPG style status.

There was no concept of levels. However there was a tab that showed one’s tier. There was no concept of HP or MP. However, there was a gauge that displayed Stamina and Mental Power. There was no status points but there was a tab that described one’s physical conditions.

Most of all, there were no skills but there were abilities, especially psionic abilities.
