Angel's Sinner
No Wings But Still Flying

No Wings But Still Flying

The sound of the wind whistling in his ears was deafening.

He’s falling.

Because that’s what happens when an angel loses his wings.

At least, in this reality. In a world where humans are guarded by ethereal beings.

What are they exactly being guarded from?

Well, that’s where the plot twist comes. Guardian angels aren’t here to protect. They’re here to kill – to punish. The angel’s role is to protect everyone from their “Cloud” – the person assigned to them by the Heavens.

There’s only one Cloud for every 1,100,000,000. In fact, there are around 7 Clouds wandering in this world.

A normal person becomes a Cloud if their amount of sins has reached a chaotic level in their past life, like genocide, for example. But how could someone like that be allowed to reincarnate? That’s what makes them so dangerous. To reincarnate you must surpass a test done in the Underworld. Its difficulty depends in how you lived your life – if you were “good” you’re given a basic test like collecting flowers or running a little, however, if you’re a “sinner” you must learn how to breathe underwater, fly with no wings or even swim in lava without dying. They must reach their 7th sense in death.

And the thought of someone doing any of that was terrifying.

That’s why they must be guarded, kept in check in case they go rampage again.

Angels are here to do that. Beings whose actions in their previous life were considered good – beings that have also reached their 7th sense, however, while living.

Their existence is a secret and their role to keep the three realms from colliding.

They’re here to annihilate the Cloud once they have reached 30 years of age. They’re here to look after them until then and send them back to hell afterwards. Because a sinner doesn’t have the right to reincarnate and simply live a happy and long life. Because a sinner will start gaining memories from their past life once they’ve reached that age.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

And guardian angels are here to prevent that.

Now you’re probably wondering: So why did this angel lose his wings?

Because he refused to complete his task.

One of the 7 angels designed to protect the peace between the realms, a man known for being both humble and kind, righteous and genuine… Was kicked out of the heavens, tortured in public and had his wings dissolved with acid.

Because he no longer believes in black and white, in good or bad.

Because he “felt.”

Because he became a sinner.

He fought against God in order to protect a Cloud. And not just any Cloud.

He protected the Cloud who has committed the worst crime between the three realms. He protected…

He Fan.

He Fan, the sinner who has killed 2 angels and injured the Great Lord.

And why? He doesn’t even know.

Yi Zhenya – the fallen angel – was sentenced to death. But before he could be killed, an old friend helped him escape and sent him towards the mortal realm.

That’s how he ended up here.

“Zihao, dear friend… If my time has come then I’ll accept my fate, but if you still believe in me… Even when I don’t, take me somewhere I can land safely – or at least not die. If I’m to reincarnate up there again I believe Mo Tai would get in trouble.”

It took a while for the hand accessory to answer – perhaps considering her master’s request. Thankfully, right when he was about to fall on top of a tree Yi Zhenya finds himself buried in… fertiliser.

“Hah… You’re really mad at me, aren’t you?” He jumps off of the pile and pats his clothes as if the dirt would leave like that. “Thank you, Zihao.”

Yi Zhenya went through intense torture and even had his wings melted, however, thanks to his friend Mo Tai he managed to seal his nervous system in order to give himself more chances of survival. He had most of his bones broken, skin burned and frozen, lungs filled with water and sand… But he was all “fixed” thanks to this loyal friend of his. And to his own cultivation level.

May the Great Lord bless her kind soul, for she really might need it.

“The Cloud has successfully reached the prime of his age so he’s no longer completely vulnerable to some attacks, but I’d still feel better if I was around to help him. The Great Lord has concealed some of my memories in case I leaked valuable information but thanks to you I managed to preserve some.” The angel did his best to clean himself, but his clothes were already beyond salvation. Maybe there’s a market nearby where he could buy some new clothes and rent a room. “Hey, don’t be angry. I’m still his Guardian Angel and he’s still my priority. We don’t have time to lose”

After walking for only God knows how long, Yi Zhenya finally found some villagers who reluctantly led him towards the closest city – which was no more no less than the Great Capital.

His good karma was really showing itself right now!

Zhenya bought new clothes – common looking robes so he wouldn’t stand out so much and convinced the store owner to let him rent her bathroom for a shower. Once he was all nice and tidy, he decided that it would be a good idea to walk around asking for information. The Great Lord has made him forget the current appearance of his Cloud, but he hasn’t forgotten his name. That’s basic information, right? How did he just let it slip?

The Great Lord isn’t that careless… He just simple couldn’t erase a name that was tattooed in his mind.

Yi Zhenya wandered around for a bit trying to look for someone who looked empathetic enough to give him some information for free – since he doesn’t have much money left – and when he finally found them, he just sighed in relief. After all, no one would be so willing to help a random stranger that looked like… Him.

Yi Zhenya, “Good evening. I’m from distant lands and came here to meet an old friend. May I ask you for some information?”

The merchant was surely not used to seeing such an ethereal looking costumer. Wearing ugly and cheap robes despite looking like a God with handsome features, long white hair, snow-like skin and blue irises… Somehow, she really felt like mistreating this humble man would send her directly to hell.

Merchant, “Greetings, young master! Maybe if you tell me his name I might be able to help you.”

Yi Zhenya, “Thank you so much, madam. I’m looking for Zh—”

Suddenly, he was interrupted by a loud scream.
