Alan awoke to an unfamiliar wooden ceiling. He sat up, well tried to at least, but his body refused. Only his eyes and mouth would obey as his body was numb all over, no muscle in his being would cooperate.
"What happened? Where am I? Am.... am I dead?" Alan spoke while looking around the room he was in. He spotted some people, one was what he assumed was some sort of doctor but it didn't look like a modern one and he also saw a nurse with tentacles. "Wait, what? Tentacles? Oh no please don't tell me I was pegged or something?!" Alan was in a panic, he didn't want to pop his cherry like this, however, after observing the tentacle nurse he realized that actually, she was quite fine. She looked like she was in her late 30s or maybe early 40s, essentially a MILF. Alan stared at her questioning if he was seeing correctly. Long black hair that at times looked like tentacles, purple eyes that sharply looked at you, her skin tone was a light tan, she stood around 6 foot and she had absolutely big pair of personalities. Alan continued staring unable to look away until the doctor said something to him.
"She'll eat you alive kid. Don't think just cause she's gorgeous doesn't mean she isn't deadly. Her being part of the Kraken race makes her tentacles significantly more powerful than other similar races." Alan looked at the doctor as best he could as he couldn't move quite yet. "She's also my wife so I suggest you stop looking before any accidents happen." Alan gulped "YES SIR!".
"Haha good, now you'll be able to move in about 2 or 3 hours. You had lots of wounds, not deadly per se but lots of smaller wounds can be just as bad as one lethal one. Goblins tend to eat lots of raw meat meaning you could have gotten infected which you almost did so I had to use a potion to help clean the infected wounds. It works wonders but the only downside is that it's quite good at numbing things, which can be bad or good depending on the situation." "Ah, I never introduced myself, my apologies, I am Markus Lutze, and my wife over there is Serena Lutze."
Alan digested his situation bit by bit. The doctor, now known as Markus, looked to be telling the truth. He was wearing what could have passed for a doctor in the modern world assuming he had just ran through a forest and fell a few times. Markus was around the same height as Alan, maybe a bit taller, he was lighter in skin tone than his wife but he had visible muscle and scars over his hands and arms. His eyes were slightly different colors, Alan couldn't tell at first as they both looked black but upon further inspection, he saw that his left eye was a bit more blue and the other a bit more green.
"Where am I and where's the man that saved me?" Alan asked while still digesting that he may still be in a fantasy world. Markus' wife answered this time, her voice serenading.
"We are currently in the town of Rosecrest said to be the home of a legendary nature artifact, despite the legends no one has found it ever since it was returned 200 years ago when a hero slew an evil dragon that was terrorizing the kingdom. Nice little town we're in, plenty of outsiders come and look at the statues and go on a journey to look for the artifact. Of course, no one has had any luck yet." That didn't help Alan much as he had no idea where this town of Rosecrest was but at least he had a name now. "Oh, and Orr is currently on a quest to gather more medicinal herbs. He should be back within an hour though as he's been out for a little while now. You should rest now, you still have a couple of hours before you can move, and since you're waiting for Orr you may as well take a nap." Alan nodded and let the darkness take him once more, no nightmares would disrupt his peaceful slumber this time.
"Hey, you, you're finally awake." Orr said as he laughed. "I was told you woke up only to find out you were asleep once more and you did not wake till the next morning, you should be able to move now so come downstairs, well, maybe a bath for you first good sir, no offense."
Alan sat up realizing that he could indeed move again. He smelled himself and nodded to Orr, "Yeah, I definitely need a bath."
"The bathroom will be to the left once you exit this room, don't worry about taking your time Markus and his wife are good people, he already has some spare clothes ready for you in there as well since your previous attire had been turned into ribbons. Once you're done come downstairs and eat, you have yet to eat anything for almost two days now."
Alan went into the bathroom and noticed a mirror. He looked at himself in the mirror, and there he was messy bed and all. He looked at his body and found lots of small scars, most around his stomach area, some around his back and arms. He sighed and went into the bath. The water was a little cold, it seemed to be hot at one point but it seemed that he slept longer than they thought and prepared it too early. "I'm a moron. No weapons and in unknown territory and the first thing I do is charge right into a goblin." He sat in the bath cleaning himself. "Doesn't seem like this is a dream and if I'm really in a fantasy world then do I get any cheats? A system? Wait a system? Do I have one? System!" Nothing happened. "Status?" Once more nothing happened. Alan let out a sad and defeated sigh. "So no system huh, of course, I don't have a system cause why would I." "AHHHHHHHHHHH" Alan internally screamed as he seemed to slowly accept his new reality.
Once he was done with his bath he put on the spare clothes and put the old ones into what seemed to be a laundry basket. He went downstairs and was greeted with three smiling faces. "Took you long enough, I was beginning to think you drowned in the tub." Markus laughed a little. His wife smiled at the little joke.

"Sorry about that, was just enjoying a nice bath after all that just happened. Just trying to get my thoughts together right now." Alan's stomach rumbled
"Think later, for now, you need to eat." Markus said.
"He's right, you need to eat, you can organize your thoughts later with a nice and full stomach. Makes it easier in my opinion to do it on a full stomach." Orr said as he moved a bit to make room for Alan.
Alan went to the table and sat down. He looked at the table to see that a soup or stew was being served with bread along with what seemed to be baby back ribs. He took a bite of the bread, nice and fluffy but it was still bread. He took a sip of the stew and he savored the taste of it. It tasted like what his mom would make, savory, a little spicy, and the broth was chicken. It was delicious. He took a bite out of the ribs, it too was delightful. The flesh fell off the bones but it still had a slight chew to it. Seems it was just seasoned with salt and pepper, but it was still delicious. Alan ate till his stomach could stomach no more. He thanked them for the meal and complimented all the food. Water was the only drink at the table.
"All of it was incredibly delightful and thank you so much." Alan said as he wiped his mouth with a napkin. Orr agreed with him.
"Thank you, I made the stew and bread while Markus made the ribs." Serena smiled at the compliment. Markus also smiled as his ribs were praised.
Markus and Serena began picking up the dishes and took them to the kitchen to wash them.
Orr looked at me and asked, "If I may, what were you doing in the forest by your lonesome and without any weapons?"
Alan didn't have a solid response so he told him what happened, minus the part where he was probably from a different world. "I'm not sure, I was just getting ready to go to work, I turned around to lock the door then I turned back, and then suddenly I was in a forest. I really can't tell you much else as even I'm not sure what happened."
Orr nodded. "Hmm, interesting. Not sure how that could have happened."
"Possibly a mage's teleportation spell went wrong?" Markus said as he came back to the table. "I heard a little while back that a few mages were able to make a long-distance teleportation spell but they also said that it was incomplete and still unstable. Were you near any mages or mage towers?"
Alan shook his head, "No, I don't believe so."
"Hmm, maybe some rouge mage tried to teleport himself or someone and ended up messing up causing you to end up in this situation. Where are you from Alan? If you can tell us we might be able to give you directions."
Alan doubted that Georgia would exist here, hell he doubted the USA was even here if he was in a different world. "Ever heard of a place called the USA?"
Orr shook his head no and so did Markus
"Can't say I have, we do have a map though maybe it's on there." Markus said as he went upstairs to look for the map.
Alan doubted, no, Alan knew it wouldn't be on the map but Markus had already left to go get it. After about ten minutes Markus returned with a map in his hand. He opened it from both sides and we looked upon it. The map was quite large, maybe around 36 inches long and 24 inches wide, and was turning a bit brown but of course, America was nowhere to be seen.
"I don't see it on the map." Of course, it wasn't the map but at least Alan had a general idea of where he was.
"I'm sorry it didn't help. Although this is just a map of this continent, supposedly there are others but that's just speculation. The map also isn't perfect as it doesn't have all the towns just most of the bigger ones." Serena came back from the kitchen as the dishes were now done. "Are you from a different continent Alan?" She asked.
Technically yes he was but he wasn't sure what to say. "Possibly, I'm not too sure myself. Sorry."
"That's alright, maybe the stress from the attack is affecting your memories. Don't worry too much about it." Serena said to Alan to hopefully make him feel better.
"So I don't mean to be rude or anything but when you said that Serena was part of the Kraken race what did you mean by that? We uhh didn't get many different types of people from where I'm from." Alan asked cautiously.
"Ah, I see. Don't worry I know what you mean, so when I said she was part of the Kraken race she is, well to put it plainly part kraken as you can see from the tentacles, do not get the Kraken race confused with the other tentacle races such as the Octopi and Squid race. The Kraken race is almost always stronger than the other two and they have bigger tentacles. The Kraken and Squid race share two tentacles that end in a triangular point but Krakens are always bigger. Now there are plenty of other races are there that aren't just the Krakens and Squids, there's the Felines, Canines, Elves, and so much more. You could technically just call all of them demi-humans but that's a little broad." Markus explained to Alan.
At this point, our protagonist finally accepted that he was in a fantasy world. The Kraken Milf wasn't enough I guess.
"May I ask what you're going to do good sir? Will you go out and find your way back home or do you have different plans?"
"I don't know, It's not like I need to go back home and I'm not sure if I really want to go back either. What about you Orr? What do you do?"
"Ah, I'm part of the Adventurer's Guild. We go out and do things such as slaying monsters, gathering materials, or escort missions. It depends really. Would you like to join the Adventurers Guild?"
Alan thought about it. He didn't have anywhere to go and he had no solid plan so he agreed to become an adventurer.
"Alright with that settled we'll go tomorrow to the Guild and while we're at it I'll show you around town as well. For now, just relax for the day Alan, don't worry you're safe here, no goblin will attack you here." With that Orrmur prepared for his leave. He thanked the Lutze couple for the meal and walked out the door to go to his inn. They had talked longer than it seemed as it was morning when Alan first woke up now the sun was starting to set.
"You good at playing cards?" Markus asked.
"No not really but I'm willing to try at least." Alan responded
They played cards till it was fully dark out. Alan did not win a single game much to the amusement of both Markus and Serena. Once the last game was over Markus packed up the cards and headed off to bed with Serena. Alan was also tired after his continuous losing streak so he too went to bed. He went upstairs and got into the same bed where he was temporarily hospitalized in. Despite his losing streak against Markus, Alan was quite happy.
"An adventurer, a real fantasy adventurer, I can't wait until tomorrow." Alan said to himself aloud. He tossed and turned from the excitement but eventually, his eyelids would close and he would sleep once more.
