The soft voice caressed Samuel's ears like soft flower petals. He wanted to get up and go to that voice, but every bit of strength had left his body. He was once a feared warrior and yet here he was- broken, bruised, and utterly defeated. 

Samuel thought he should have been quiet and counted his blessings. He could have had a good normal life. But he had never liked a normal life and so he was here with blood and gore oozing out of the multiple cuts that were adorning his body.

He was lying face down till now but somehow managed to turn onto his back. The movement made pain shoot up his entire body in a jolt of lightning. He could feel darkness closing in on him.

Already, he was seeing blurry from the corners of his eyes. He turned his eyes upward to see the stats laughing at him.

He tried to think of the life or lives he had led till now. 1605 to 3605. Samuel wanted to laugh at the sheer absurdity of what had happened to him. Or was it even him? As far as he knew, his body had decayed ages ago. So how was he here? Was it god’s miracle?

Was he going to die without knowing that secret? Perhaps yes. He closed his eyes and felt himself slowly drown in the deep soothing darkness. There was no pain, no questions, and no confusion. It was all peaceful. 

“Samuel…Samuel… please… stay here….”

“No, let him die, it’s time for another rebirth," came a deep voice. It was all Samuel heard as he collapsed into eternal darkness.
