This war is one won and lost by super soldiers. Spec. Ops. and high tier officers in the military are all these types. They are skilled individuals with naturally enhanced cognitive ability. This is needed to operate their suits which push their speed past the limit of intelligent beings.
This was how Roma's seniors were killed. It was an ambush set up by those supersoldiers.
They probably would still be alive if Roma had worked harder. From his memories, he actually had great talent. Nearly genius level, in fact. The problem is his (Roma not Alfred) lack of hard work. For the enhancement techniques to work, you have to put in the work no matter how easy it comes to you.
This isn't a problem that can be fixed currently.
Another thing Alfred noticed was that after that moment where everything seemed to move slower than normal (otherwise known as the Heightened State of Mind) ended, He wasn't able to 'see' the area around him in his head anymore.
This didn't add up to the memories, so he wondered, 'From what I can remember, Roma never experienced something like that before, does it have to do with me specifically?'
*Chatter~ Chatter~*
"!!!"
Coming in his direction Alfred noticed a group rushing down the hallway. He quickly hid in an empty room closeby.
"The damn Venoenoe Spec. Ops. are here? Is that what I heard?"
"No, Dumbass. They WERE here. Those bootlickers went after them, probably on some suicide mission. There's no way they could possibly kill them and come back. We're just going to retrieve the bodies."
"Ohh!"
Two infantrymen were leading the pack in a double file line while chatting.
"The captain said there would be three Venoenoe right? Shame…" said another infantryman right behind the first two.
"Yeah… I wish I was never born within this shitty planetary group."
"Shh-! Ya' shouldn't talk about that stuff right now! What if someone outside our team hears?"
With that, they finally passed by Alfred. Once they exited his line of sight he exited the room. Already, he had decided to try his hardest to survive. Who knows if he'll get another chance at life?
Already, he had started to have a rough idea for what he must do.
'1) I have to find a better map of the place. We got something more suited for the mission, as expected. Who would imagine a newbie having to escape alone? Even so, this level of planning is sub par at best.'
The problems start up only with this first step. Roma had only studied the map a bit, but that was enough to know where a decent amount of stuff was. The room that most likely has access to the type of map he needs is the engineering wing. It's only 1 level up, but the ways up are all guarded. He'd have to navigate the inner workings of the ship. Due to Roma's laziness, Alfred can't do this easily.
This is all for the second part.
'2) When I have the map, I have to navigate my way to the top of the ship.'
If Alfred didn't have the map from the engineering wing, he would have no way to get through the last two levels of the ship, on top of which sits his only form of escape.
'Anything else that comes up, I'll just have to deal with it.' he thought. 'Fuck this is scary.'
He had jitters. Both Roma and Alfred weren't particularly brave people in these types of situations. It's particularly bad for Alfred's mind since he has only really inherited the instincts and training part of Roma's person.
He quickly got loose and stretched before finally climbing into the walls of the ship.
This was accessed from the same place they (the Roma before his death and his seniors) exited when they got down here, which was a panel on the ceiling they removed.
Inside is a thin but tall and long hallway made up of many pipes and wires. Each level has different floors. To put it into perspective, there are 5 levels (5 being the lowest). Currently, Alfred is about halfway through the 4th level. The height of a level is about the same as a 20 story building.

4 and below have more rudimentary structure and security on the inside of the walls, but things are much more controlled on the 3rd and up due to the high tech machinery at work up there.
Alfred quickly and quietly climbed up towards the next level. On his way he discovered something from the gossip he overheard from the infantrymen/guards through the walls. There was a famous high-tier supersoldier on the ship.
"F-" He nearly swore out loud. 'Fuck! This escape just shot up past my level! Fuck this body I took over. Even though he had the talent he didn't use it… what a dumbass Roma was.'
He shook his head and got back to climbing. The quicker he gets out of the ship, the better. Already it should be known to the security, higher-ups, and the supersoldier that an enemy supersoldier is on the loose.
Along the way he heard more chatter. The general topic was on how there was a sweep going through the 4th level for him. A completely useless endeavor since he's already long gone.
Alfred just reached the bottom most floor of the 3rd level. The engineering wing is on the 13th floor, so he needs to sneak past 12 whole floors till he gets there.
After sneaking out of the room he had found himself in, he began the search for the elevator for the floor. Each floor's elevator only led to the next one for security reasons, and as far as he knew, those were the only ways to traverse the ship. 'It's a given that they have a faster way, but I just don't know where.'
Finally, he found elevator, and as expected, there were two soldiers guarding it.
'Would it work just to knock them out?'
Supposedly, the supersoldier is at the top level of the entire ship, 'It could be possible to escape into the walls again after retrieving the map...' he thought.
'This is so fucking stupid. *Sigh~*, even so, It's all I can think of.'
His personality is still that of a normal person, just with the training of a supersoldier. As he thought about it, the time and energy it would take to knock them out without too much damage may be too much.
The whole time he has been here, Alfred as Roma hasn't really taken things too seriously. It was like he was playing a game. 'If I thought about it a little more back then, maybe this wouldn't become such a shocker…'
Now he has to decide whether or not to take someone else's life. They are either evil scum who think it's ok for a military power to blackmail their soldiers using their innocent families, which has no precedent from what Alfred has overheard, or, they're innocent.
*Sigh~*
'I hope they survive…'
*Bam!*
Alfred pulled all his force into his legs and shot forward. Before the guards could even notice any difference, they had slammed into the wall and gone out cold. With no hesitation, Alfred darted into the elevator and was almost instantly transported to the next floor.
The second the doors opened, he did the same to the guards.
*Sllam!!!!~*
"Gaagh!"
The next elevator was less than 50m away. Even before the two he just slammed into the wall fell to the ground, he had turned the corner.
He slipped due to the blood that hadn't dried on his shoes while rounding the corner, but still knocked the guards out before they could react.
This happened for the next two floors before something changed.
He was already prepared for lethal force, and was surprisingly calm. At this time, he activated the heightened state of mind that he came into the world experiencing.
'They are prepared to die, so am I.' He reasoned. 'I'm sorry, I have to kill anyone who gets in my way…'
The door opened.
"He's he-"
*Vrrrrr~*
The plasma sword radiated violently, as if ready to kill. Alfred ripped through the air as if it wasn't even there, instantly arriving at the end of the tunnel where the fully prepared soldiers were set up.
Even if he did it all so fast that none of the soldiers could see him, they still fired. Sadly, going against a super soldier, even one near the lower tier, couldn't be done. They, like pawns, were only a distraction.
Alfred's reaction was instantaneous. In his heightened state of mind (HSM), he noticed the fingers of the soldiers moving the second the elevator doors opened. He was already above their line of fire.
Instantly, he cut off the commander's head in half and bolted to the next elevator.
The soldiers near the commander reacted by yelling at their comrades to stop shooting at nothing, but Alfred was already gone. Down the hall was another group already firing down at him. He used the walls to jump over the majority of the volley, and blocked the rest with his sword.
It was sad, but he already was feeling a little headache from using the HSM during this fight. The amount of info he was taking in was crazy. Still, he pushed on.
Only one volley of bullets could be fired before Alfred arrived at the frontlines.
A few quick but deadly slashes took out the people in his way, the others were ignored. The severed bodies pushed the survivors down, stopping their attack at once.
The instant he turned the corner, Alfred hit the floor. 'An RPG! On a ship?' Thankfully, the rocket passed right over his head, but something worse was right in front of him. Two plasma grenades were primed and ready to explode. Thankfully they weren't manual detonations, so Alfred was able to grab both, spin around, throw them, and get back on his feet all before they exploded behind him. He wasted no time looking back and darted down towards the elevator once again.
He was met with another volley of shots right as he finished throwing the grenades. His figure bobbed and weaved through the majority of them before coming out the other side nearly unscathed. Only a few burns.
But, the weapons this time were no simple standard issue rifles. He was met with another group of shots right away. He had to push through, though. Before the RPG could be re-loaded, he had to make it in the elevator.
Clenching his teeth, he made a decision. To make it through as fast as possible, he had to push straight through.
To the surprise of the soldiers, he didn't dodge. The figure they were so terrified of pushed directly into their line of fire, causing quite the chaotic situation.
Flashes of blue went off as the majority that would hit were deflected by Alfred's blade, the rest grazed non-vital parts of his body.
With this gamble, he was able to get to them before the next shots could be taken. The soldier holding the RPG was cut in half, and those closest to the door were all sloppily bisected. Before they could react, The elevator was already on its way to the next floor. Inside, Alfred could be seen messing with the syringe to set it on a different mode.
This process was being done to give different instructions to the nanomachines. This time, they were to heal him slower but more overall compared to the fast acting one.
As soon as he finished, the elevator had arrived at the next floor.
*Feeww~*
"I got this."
*Boom!~*
