Hey guys! You may or may not have noticed that there was no chapter yesterday. There's a few reasons for that.

First and foremost, an immediate family member of mine was n an accident. Nothing life-threatening, thankfully, but we've been rallying around them as a result.

In the interest of honesty, I'm also suffering from a bit of a creative block. Nothing huge, but I'm having trouble getting "into" the story, and as a result, I feel like the quality of my work has been dropping. I've been working on this project for close to a full year now, and I've never once had a backlog. That means what you read was often typed up the night before, and edited the day of. As strange as it sounds, I find that I work better in the moment like that- despite having an outline.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

So I'd like to take some time and figure out what's going on with me. But that doesn't mean I'll be doing nothing. I've decided to commit to editing the entirety of Book 1 by the end of next week. After that, I'll be relaunching the story, now that I have a better idea of what I'm doing here on Royal Road.

I'm still figuring things out, but I haven't forgotten about my promise of distributing the cleaned version of Book 1 for free. It will be happening, and I'll do my best to reach you all when that time comes.

Regardless, I want to thank everyone who's stuck around up to this point- I'll be back soon, and so will An Inheritance of Fire.
