Chapter 10: The Team

The airship docks, and the doors open up, and everyone is ushered in towards Beacon’s entrance.

'As a roller coaster enthusiast, I don't understand how a human can get that motion sick from standing on a slow moving platform. I mean, maybe the Faunus with their heightened senses.' Kyra thinks, while walking up to the school.

"Why do I feel like I'm in a Disney World?" Kyra mutters to herself.

"What, where are we now?" Ruby asks.

"Do you have theme parks here?" Kyra asks.

"A theme park?" Yang questions in return.

"Never mind." Kyra said with a huff, crossing her arms.

"Ooh! Is that a collapsible staff!" Ruby shouts, only to be hit in the back of the head lightly.

"Ow!" Ruby said, quietly rubbing the back of her head in pain.

"Don't look at other people's weapons, and also, don't I design the most amazing weapons you have ever seen?" Kyra asks Ruby, a little jealous.

"But they are so cool!" Ruby shouts, waving her arms around in the air aimlessly.

"Stop shouting, and I can give you a mini-gun to dismantle." Kyra says.

"What am I going to do with a small gun?" Ruby asks.

'Don't they have dust mini-guns?'

"You don't know what a mini-gun is?" Kyra asks shocked, then she pulls one out, the one you use to kill the Deathclaw in the start of Fallout 4 to show her.

"Why do you have a heavy machine gun?" Ruby asks.

"This,” Kyra says.” Is a mini-gun." Holding the weapon in a two-handed grip.

"Well, bye guys, I'm going to go hang out with my friends." Yang says, while Ruby and Kyra are distracted with weapon talk.

"Let me take it apart!" Ruby yells, lunging at Kyra who quickly stores the gun, but is tackled into a bellhop cart which causes white suitcases to fly everywhere.

"Ow, Ruby, watch where you're going." Kyra says, getting up from the bellhop cart.

"What are you- Stark!!?" Weiss shouts at Kyra.

Kyra quickly jumps up from the ground, dusting herself off, "Ah, Schnee, have you seen the Lorax? I need him to speak for the trees, cause I need to make a thneed." Kyra says.

"Don't use made up words!" Weiss shouts, pointing at her.

"It's from a children's book!" Kyra shouts back, arms crossed over her chest.

"What are you doing here?" Weiss asks, not too happy to see her family's main competitor in front of her.

"Awe, is daddy Schnee still upset he lost the electricity contract." Kyra says with a smile, knowing she provides the electricity for the entire city of Vale.

"Lighting dust." Weiss says matter-of-factly.

"Well you see, I call it electricity cause it's cooler, you also don't need dust to make it, so, not dust." Kyra says.

"Do you have any idea of the damage you could have caused?" Weiss asks, looking at the briefcases all over the ground.

"Well, I'm sorry I don't take highly reactive materials that are prone to explosions to school, in nothing more than a briefcase." Kyra shouts, throwing her hands into the air, almost as if she was shrugging.

"Like your company's explosives are safer than my family's dust!" Weiss says, opening a case and pulling out a bottle.

If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

"My company's plastic explosives are much safer! It's not like a sneeze can set them off!" Kyra shouts.

"H-How dare you!" Weiss yells, shaking the bottle.

"It's not like a measly sneeze can set off my family's dust, we pack them in safe containers!" Weiss says.

"Like in glass bottles that they leak out of when you shake?" Kyra asks.

"Uh oh." Weiss realizes.

"Achoo!" Ruby sneezes.

*Boom!*

*cough cough*

"Wow, it's been awhile since I’ve blown up." Kyra said in excitement as she brushed her clothes off.

"It hasn't been that long, Sis? Just two weeks ago you blew up the same night there was a city wide blackout." Ruby says, getting up, wiping the soot off.

"Wait, that was!" Weiss begins, but is cut off by Blake.

"You dropped this." Blake says rudely, shoving the glass bottle full of fire dust into Weiss’s hands.

"Why are you talking to her, Stark, you know how she treats your kind? The Schnee dust company is infamous for its controversial labor forces." Blake says, with a small hint of confusion.

"Nick Schnee, the founder of the Schnee dust company was a nice and kind man, he was down in the mine with his own workers, and he even had Faunus friends. He led the expeditions himself, however the man that married into the Schnee family was manipulative and cruel, only marrying in for money and power. I'm hoping Weiss can be like her grandfather on her moms side, although to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Miss Schnee died of alcohol poisoning with how much she drinks... poor woman." Kyra says as her tail suddenly comes out from underneath her clothes.

"It's that bad?" Blake says, shocked, hearing about Weiss's family situation.

"You're a Faunus!?" Weiss shouts, pointing a shaking finger at her tail.

"Yep, hey do me a favor and record your daddies reaction, it's going to be hilarious when he finds out his main competitor is a Faunus that he can't do anything about." Kyra says.

"Wait? Sis, why have you always hid the fact you're a Faunus if you're just going to show it now?" Ruby asks with confusion.

"Cause it's funny to do so." Kyra turned and said to Ruby, pointing at Weiss’s incredulous expression.

"Yeah, that is an interesting reaction." Blake says, nodding in agreement.

"I'm going to have to deal with so many more assassins now." Kyra says, sighing.

"We have always dealt with them, Sis." Ruby says determined.

"Yeah, but the last few had a family, and came after me because they were threatened. If I ever find out who's forcing people to come after me, I'm going to give them hell." Kyra says.

"How? Project Nano isn't done yet?" Ruby asks, knowing about the Nano suit.

"I could always convert precious metals and speed it up." Kyra says with reluctance, while Weiss is beginning to process what's going on.

"Project what?" Weiss asks.

"Uh nothing. It's not energy related, so it has nothing to do with your family." Kyra says, making Weiss leaves in a huff.

"Anyway, Blake, meet my Sister, Ruby Rose." Kyra says.

"You have a human sister?" Blake questions.

"They adopted me." Kyra says.

"You don't look adopted, if it wasn't for the tail I would say you're twins" Blake says.

"We have an older sister inside, let's go meet her." Kyra says, pulling Blake and Ruby away from the crater.

"Kyra! Ruby! Over here! I saved you guys a spot!" Yang yells, and Blake quietly tries to slip away.

"No, miss ninja, you are going to meet our older sister." Kyra says, grabbing her arm and dragging her along.

"How's your day going, sister?" Yang asks.

"Oh, you ditched us, and we exploded." Kyra says.

"So, like any normal Monday?" Yang asks.

"We don't do that every Monday!" Ruby yells back.

"Just like every other Monday." Kyra mutters.

"No, we went 2 weeks without an explosion." Ruby says.

"Who's this? You two made a friend?" Yang asks them upon seeing Blake, she was also trying to change the topic, so the two gun nuts won't go on.

"Yes, Blake, this is our older sister Yang. Yang, this is Blake, a ninja." Kyra says with a smile.

"She's a ninja! You need to teach me!" Ruby says, mimicking karate moves and making noises.

After a bit of talking, Ozpin walks up to the Stage. "I'll... keep this brief. You have travelled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." Ozpin says before leaving.

"I gotta go talk to him. See you guys later." Kyra says, slipping away as Glynda Goodwitch steps up.

"You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed." Glynda says to everyone still in the room.
