Flashes of red and yellow filled his vision, flames engulfed everything around him.
He could run… even escape
but he knew there was no point anymore. Louis took a deep breath this was it. He flicked the red switch, although digital switches and motion sensors could do the same more efficiently Louis preferred analogue, it produced an all familiar click. To him the sound made all the difference. Maybe if he rigged a software module to make digital switches produce the click he could make a fortune out of it and when he has the money he could use it to repay the…
“artificial condenser on” his daydreams were interrupted by the sound of his spaceship, he flicked a few more switches in succession
“Oxygen levels acceptable”, “Pressure stabilized”, “Engines Starting” sounded the spaceship’s System

Louis thrust the joystick forward and accelerated his ship, “If I am going to go I might as well as go with a bang” Louis said to himself. The short wings that resembled quillions or guards of a sword, the long propulsion system that converged at the end combined with the highly protected fuselage in the middle and the cockpit shaped like a pommel made his ship resemble a word. The ship was called Rapier, well FS-Ra2 if one wished to be pedantic. The length and the shape of the propulsion system allowed Rapier to exhibit short bursts of extreme velocity that a ship could muster without a FTL Drive. Although what Louis was doing cannot be called as a short burst rather it was the equivalent of taping firecrackers together so that when one fuse is lit up all others get lighted up too, resulting in a very big a very bad BOOM.
“WARNING! WARNING! Pressure levels Destabilizing!” Screamed the ship “WARNING! WARNING! Condenser malfunctioned! Temperature levels sub optimal” Louis’s combat boots melted and burned his skin, His lungs burned but Louis didn’t care. The Rapier that looked like a sword now resembled the blade of a flamberge and then.....
BOOM!
