After confirming she has no ill intentions, Colton turned around, leaned on the tablet and glared at her with distasteful eyes.
"America Has Demons? The game that's on the news recently?" Colton questioned. "It's been on the news for good over a year now."
"But someone as busy as you never noticed apparently," she stated, staring into his eyes, "want to know the details?"
"I already know the gist of it. It's the game everyone's going crazy over because of the special prize," he explained.
"That's right and a few days ago I found some information. 100 million dollars. That's the winning prize," she expressed.
The room instantly went quiet. Everyone was tuned in and now interested in this game. Colton could feel the sharp, stabbing-like glares the people were giving him. He could feel the hair on the back of his neck stiffen the more she continued.
"That's not all I found out. Anyone can participate. From desperate parents, to little kids poking there nose into the real world." She explained.
"Wait, it's strange. You knew this information for the past few days however, you showed up now of all times. If you only wanted me to be your partner, you could have waited until I finished work. Also, to find that much information about me would take about a year so in other words, you were planning to make me your teammate from the very beginning," said Colton.
Collymore's arms were crossed as his finger vigorously tapped his shoulder. A few seconds go by and he lets out a huge sigh and stared into the ceiling.
"Eve is the reason you chose today of all days, right?"
"As expected of the greatest assassin. That's right. America Has Demons will be broadcasted to the entire world! The more people that watches equals more ad revenue. She has 100,000 congruent viewers and it's going to continue rising thanks to this incident," she defined.
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
"So in simple terms, your advertising right now," said Colton, feeling annoyed he was used, "That's seriously the only reason you exposed my past?"
"Yeah, tragic back story makes him forcibly join the game!" She said sarcastically, with a goofy look.
His eyebrow twitched and you could hear a high pitch note from his teeth grinding against each other. Something as trivial as that was the cause of his exposure.
"I'm assuming you can have more than two people in a team?" Colton asked, still interested, "up to ten people."
"Then I'll decline. I'm not interested in splitting the prize with ten people," he stated.
"That's why it has to be you. 'Course I can get ten dependable people however I share the same thoughts as you. With your experience, refined body, and amazing battle sense, you are more than enough," she expressed.
Colton closes his eyes and tilted his head upwards. With that money he would be set for life. A comfortable home, delicious food, and most of all, he could spend time with his sister. This game is a perfect chance for that however, it's too perfect. Money like that won't be won with a simple game. However, if she could find all the information about him it's possible she already has a plan.
"Alright, I'll join the team," Colton declared, opening his shut eyes, "okay, lets properly introduce each other."
"My name is Sarah Blaze. It's a pleasure to meet you," Sarah expressed, "Cringe, why did you become polite all of a sudden dammit."
"The name's Colton although you already know that."
"Any questions you have left for me," Sarah asked, hands on her hips, "Your a runner right?"
Runners, they're people who collect information for a designated target of assassination. They're the step that comes before the kill and can also steal anything you need. Basically, they're thieves that's nimble and fast on their feet. However, "I have never meet a runner as good as her." Colton, for as long as he's been in the organization, has never met her meaning she's a rogue runner.
"That's a topic for another day. I'll send the location to meet later. You will quit all your jobs and catch up on much needed rest, right," Blaze questioned.
"I know stop pestering me already," Collymore begged. Just like that she was gone. Everyone still staggered their eyes on him but Colton was lost in thought. A giant smirk extending to both ends of his face appeared.
"America Has Demons? This game might prove to be more interesting than I thought."
