Prologue
A vast plain, stretching endlessly into the horizon. Where mountains that once reached the heavens once stood, now only deep craters remained. A massive battlefield lay strewn about the land with innumerable corpses forming a veritable ocean of blood. Some of the corpses rivaled the size of the mountains that once stood there, while many others came in a myriad of bizarre shapes and forms. However, in the center of the maelstrom of chaos, a strange peace had formed. A group of divine, demonic, and otherworldly beings had formed an inescapable encirclement surrounding just one figure that appeared to be on the brink of death.
Clearly on edge, they grimly stared at the figure with every fiber of their being poised to strike at a moment’s notice. In contrast, the unknown being was clearly relaxed, with a small smile playing on its lips despite its seemingly horrific wounds and countless weapons embedded within its flesh. The figure was quite grotesque, resembling no other being present, dead or alive. It almost appeared as if someone had stitched together hundreds of different organisms, resulting in a hulking monstrosity with numerous additional limbs, appendages, and organs. Interestingly enough, some of its body parts appeared identical to those on the group surrounding it as well as the corpses littering the battlefield.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
The leader of the group, a divine being completely enshrouded in an aura of light holding a massive spear, stepped forward and spoke,” Usurper, long have you been a thorn in our side and defied us. But now your time has come. Only but your last breath remains, and the combined might of the heavens stands before you. Surrender now, and I shall guarantee your end will be swift.”
The figure replied,” I’ve never thought you to be the merciful type, Imperius. It seems this time you are truly worried. After all, has there ever been a time where the Heavenly Host, the Demonic Legions, and the Myriad Realms have come together like this?”
Imperius grimaced and spoke,” It is indeed a disgrace to join hands with these lowly beings. However, it is an even greater one to allow an abomination like you to exist and threaten the order of this plane. The blade of judgement must be cast upon you.”
The figure howled, laughing uncontrollably as he said,” Judgement? You seek to pass judgement upon me, Imperius? No, you are deeply mistaken I’m afraid. It is I who is the retribution that has descended upon you all for your sins and atrocities, not you. By your hand I was created, and it is by my hand you shall be destroyed.”
Imperius’ grip on his spear tightened, and he said,” Very well, it seems you have no intention of peacefully accepting your end. Have you any last words?”
“Come.”
And the tempest of destruction descended upon it.
