***POV by Guller***
*Chuu Chuu*
-Guller: There is nothing better than traveling by train.
I don't like boats, cars, airplanes and much less the shuttles. Being able to relax in a warm and cozy space while enjoying the pleasant sound of the wheels, the swell of the sea, the beautiful scenery and the efficiency of reaching your destination in a short time.
-Guller: It's incomparable
I sigh as I look out the window at the beautiful scenery. A mature man in his 30s, with seductive eyes and shoulder-length brown hair. I'm definitely in my prime.
-Guller: There is no better scenery than my own reflection.
Regardless of whether people say boats are quieter or shuttles are faster, I prefer trains. It's been a strange hobby I've had since I was a kid like love at first sight.
It all started when my parents put me on a train and told me....
-Mike: [¡Hey, Guller! Are you gawking at your thoughts again?]
My ear itches and my "partner's" voice rings through the communicator snapping me out of my thoughts.
-Jay: [Don't bother him M, you know G gets sentimental when he's on a train].
-Guller: WHO GETS SENTIMENTAL, BASTARD!!!?
-...
-Mike: [That sounded loud, the other passengers must be looking at you now].
-Guller: Yes.
Just as Mike said, the other people in the same car are glaring at me. They are not looks of criticism for my having gotten excited, they are more of curiosity to know what is going on. Regardless of age or gender everyone has the same look on their face.
-Guller: Huh?
My attention falls on one person in question, he's someone so normal that he doesn't stand out at all, but at this moment he's very conspicuous. He is the only person who is ignoring everything around him and is staring out the window, as if he doesn't care about anything else.
He looks young, maybe 18 years old. His tousled black hair contrasts with his yellow eyes and he is dressed in a black and red suit. Seeing the young man's distant gaze as he looks out the window, only one thing comes to mind.
-Guller: He must like trains too.
-Boy: Mom...did his wife leave him?
-Guller: *Argh* Boy, that hurt.
-Mike: [Whew, that must have hurt.]
-Guller: Shut up.
With people's eyes still on me, I get up from my seat and head for the last car, the freight car.
As I arrive, I bump into a tall man with braided hair and a rather wide smile on his face. The man's eyes widen as soon as he sees me and he stands up to greet me.
-Jay: Hey Guller, what are you here for?
Jay, my "partner" is in charge of taking care of the merchandise while he works as a "guard" guarding the last car.
-Guller: Nothing important, I just came to check the status of the merchandise.
-Jay: Hmm.
Jay gives me a look of intrigue and then smiles broadly.
-Jay: Don't lie, you came to see her specifically, didn't you?
-Guller: ...
-Jay: I knew it! I hope you didn't fall in love with her, remember that's part of the deal with that big shot.
-Guller: I don't need you to remind me.
-Jay: It's good that you understand, for little guys like us, it was pure luck to be able to get this deal with one of the big guys and if we do it right, we can get into the major leagues.
-Guller: I said I understand.
-Jay: Okay okay... Don't get grumpy, will you?
Ignoring my "companion", I left him behind and entered the freight car. It is dark compared to the rest of the wagons, because there are no windows and only small hatches through which the air circulates.
Due to the wave scrambler you can't hear anything from outside, but when you enter the carriage, you can hear a noisy hubbub inside.
Squawking, squeaking and growling. All sorts of different animal sounds flood the small space that is the boxcar.
Making my way through boxes of different sizes that are covered by tattered blankets, I come to a particularly small one.
Unlike the others, this box is not stacked or close to the others. It is in a clear area and the blanket covering it is much cleaner compared to the rest.
After observing the box for a few seconds, I carefully remove the sheet covering it and lean in front of it.
-Guller: Hello little one, how are you?
Beneath the blanket, lies a cage with a creature in it. A small frost fox, fur as white as snow, both the mane and its eyes are as blue as ice and its tail is as fluffy and soft as cotton candy.
The frost fox is one of the most valued creatures in the northern regions for its immense beauty and this specific one is quite special, as it has something that other foxes do not have. It does not have one or two, this little one has 3 tails.
It was thanks to her that we managed to attract the attention of the superiors and we got a pretty big deal.
-Guller: You haven't eaten anything I left you before.
The plate of fruits and berries that I carefully left before is untouched and due to the weather the fruits have gone bad.
-Guller: You are in a very important stage of your life, if you don't eat well you will stay this small forever.
The little fox just lies down in a corner of the cage, that's how it has always been since we locked her up until now.
It just stands there, staring at anyone who comes near it with eyes just like the people from earlier, full of curiosity and at the same time a bit of disinterest in them.
-Guller:...
Slowly, I slip my hand through one of the cage's slits and carefully stroke the fur of the little fox.
The soft touch on my hand makes me feel like I'm stroking a cloud and makes me understand why these creatures are so coveted.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
-Guller: I... I'm pathetic, aren't I?
*Kyuu*
I don't know if he understood what I said, but the little fox turned his head towards my hand and gave me little licks. His tongue is cold, like he's running a piece of ice over my hand, but it's not uncomfortable... it's comforting.
-Guller:...At what point did I throw my life away?
-????: Maybe when you decided to become a creature dealer?
*snort*
Suddenly a voice I don't know sounds in front of me. When I raise my head I realize that on the other side of the cage a hooded figure is standing.
-Guller: Who are you!?
It is impossible to distinguish the other person because the robe covering him covers all his features.
-???: No one important, just someone passing by.
The hooded figure takes a few steps closer, but suddenly stops and steps back to where he was before.
-Guller: Ask, you have good senses.
-???: Thank you.
He clearly noticed the trap I set in the area to protect the place. Although in reality it was put so that none of my classmates would approach it.
-Guller: Answer at once, who are you and how did you get here? If you don't answer, don't think that you will get out of here unscathed.
-???: "At what point did I ruin my life?" What did you feel when you said that?
-Guller:...
The stranger ignores me completely and instead asks me a question that I don't know how to answer. No, the reason why I don't answer is because with everything I've done, I don't know if I have the right to say an answer.
-???: Nothing? and I thought I had found a possible-
*BANG*
Interrupting the hooded figure, a loud boom echoes through the carriage accompanied by a flash that passes over my shoulder.
The flash crashes into the stranger's forehead and causes him to fall backwards.
-Jay; On target! HA HA HA
Behind me, my companion appears holding a pistol in his hand.
Jay blows the steam into the gun's mouthpiece while smiling broadly and rejoicing at the shot he just fired.
-Guller: WHAT DID YOU DO?!
Unlike Jay who is practically jumping for joy, I'm not happy at all.
Guller: It was supposed to be a clean commission! without attracting attention and without hurting anyone! What the fuck are you supposed to do?!
-Jay: Oh come on G, that guy asked for it by himself by getting in where he shouldn't.
-Guller: You...!
Jay: Besides, there was a more important reason for killing him.
-Gullar: Which one?
-Jay: He insulted me!
-Guller: What?
-Jay: I'm supposed to be the "guard" and yet that guy came in without me noticing. He was clearly spitting in my face!
Angry, Jay kicks one of the boxes while grumbling a bunch of meaningless words.
-Jay: Well, although I might exaggerate a little seeing how young he is.
-Guller: ¡!
Hearing those words my heart races and I quickly approach where the stranger is.
When I am close to him I am paralyzed by not being able to believe what I see. The impact of the bullet caused his hood to rise, allowing his face to be seen.
A young man with tousled black hair and yellow eyes, the same young man who caught my eye in the carriage I was in.
-Jay: Huh? Why do you make that face? Do you even know him?
-Guller: "He spat in your face"
-Jay: How?
Guller: For such a ridiculous reason... Did you kill him?
-Jay: Ridiculous? A man's pride is everything and...!
Guller: SHUT UP!
… "What did you feel when you said that?" ... What the young man said is still running through my head, it was just a few words. But those words made my head spin and I can't think clearly.
-Jay: Don't tell me to shut up! If it weren't for me, you'd be nobody! You'd still live in that shitty ring fighting day after day for a measly breadcrumbs!
-Guller:...
-Jay: I didn't even get mad at you when the mosquito bites you and not me! And that's how you pay me!?
-Guller: You say it as if it was thanks to you and the boss had nothing to do with it.
-Jay: You...!
Jay's face turns red with anger and he grits his teeth as the hand holding the gun trembles.
-Guller: Don't do anything ridiculous if you want to keep your limbs.
-Jay: I dare you to say it again.
-Guller: Say what?
-Jay: I'm ridiculous... I dare you to say it again!
-???: You're ridiculous.
-Guller- Jay: *Startle*
*Photography*
Before we could even react.
The young man who lay "dead" passes over us holding a camera in his hands.
-Jay: But what!?
-Guller: How...?
I'm sure I saw blood on his forehead but now there's nothing, not even a trace left where he was lying down.
-???: Goodbye.
The young man lands acrobatically at the foot of the door and runs out of the carriage with a rather wide smile on his face.
-Jay: Damn! We'll leave this for later! After him!
-Guller: Jay, wait!
-Jay: ¡THERE'S NO TIME!
My companion immediately follows the young man while I continue to stand in the same place with many doubts in my head.
*Kyuu*
As I was about to follow my "partner" and the young man, a small sound called to me.
-Guller: What...?
The little fox gets up for the first time since he is in the cage and with his muzzle points towards a cage in the corner of the car.
-Guller: Is there something there?
*Kyu*
Without thinking much about it, I approach the cage and remove the blanket that covers it, when I do so I was completely dumbfounded with what is inside.
-Guller: ¡¿Mike?!
In the cage next to the 4-winged penguin, my other companion is tied up and unconscious.
-Guller: Recently we were talking through the communicator, how...? ...
-Jay: [G, Where are you? I've got the bastard cornered in one of the top cars but I need your help. This guy is also someone with power]
-Guller:...
-Jay: [¿G?]
A strange and completely crazy thought goes through my head making me break out in a cold sweat.
-Guller: Why don't you call Mike?
-Jay: [What could M do? You are the only one who has powers from us, even if I call him I couldn't do anything]
-Guller: Is that the case? Or do you know that he is not going to answer because he cannot?
-Jay: [What do you mean by that? Come quick, I need help!]
-Guller: "I need help." You've already said it twice.
-Jay: [That's because I really need it!]
-Guller: Jay would rather die than ask me for help.
-Jay: [...]
Although there are times when I seem to get along well with Jay, the truth is that we hate each other to death since we met. I don't like the way he handles things and he resents that he's the boss's "favorite."
-Guller: You... Who are you?
-Jay: [If you want to know...]
In a matter of just 1 second, my "partner's" voice changes, from a little hoarse to higher.
-???:[... I'll wait for you upstairs]
