In such a complicated terrain with many beasts, she had no reason to fight them head-on. She actually enjoyed Li Hua's company and was curious about her mind worked or if she even thought things through. Her entire personality was a novelty to her, so she did not resist much against her travelling with them.
"Do you think cultivators from the Silver Armour Sect are afraid of crawling nobodies?" She laughed her confidence showing in her voice. "And aren't I a mid-level Foundation Establishment cultivator?"
She released her pressure, clearly marking her at the fourth level, a true mid-level cultivator.
In the Foundation Establishment Realm, there are nine minor realms to pass through, and cultivators in the first three were at the early stage, then the mid-level and then the peak.
"It's good you're aware," Xue Yueliang smiled. "It gets dull travelling with him, and Hei Yu seems to like you too."
Hei Yu hummed happily, causing Lei Jian to feel dispirited but did not say much against this arrangement. It's not like he would shamelessly insist on travelling with her alone, nor did he wish for her to feel bored.
"Before we leave, let's go to the medicine hall." Li Hua suggested happily, linking her arm with Xue Yueliang, leading her away.
"I won't treat you this time." Xue Yueliang reminded, but that did not affect Li Hua's mood.
Lei Jian, who was left behind, bitterly smiled and walked forward but did not know where to stand, awkwardly trailing behind them.
They soon entered the biggest store in the city it was a medical hall named Miracle Medicine.
"The naming sense really is atrocious," she commented.
This name made it feel like a shady pharmacy rather than an up and proper business. "Yeah, that's you, Qinx-"
Before Li Hua could even finish her words, Xue Yueliang clamped her mouth shut. She was not interested in creating more trouble today. The trio entered the store, and Li Hua separated from her, angry at being shut down. She was curious about all the items that lay around, looking a everything carefully.
"Bumpkin." Someone cursed before Xue Yueliang could utter those very words, angering her. The person who spoke was a young girl in extravagant clothing. She had a clear look of ridicule as she looked up and down at Li Hua, clearly unimpressed by her style.
"You must be from the Xiuqi Kingdom." She mocked, "A country full of brutes and barbarians."
"It's better than having an extravagant exterior whilst rotting on the inside." Li Hua said, not taking her words to heart.
"Don't take it too far," Xue Yueliang sent spiritually, "Remember whose home this was."
As long as the argument stayed between the two of them, then outsiders would not meddle, but if she began insulting the entire kingdom, then she would be heavily disadvantaged.
"I'm not an idiot," Li Hua replied, but Xue Yueliang remained unconvinced.
Li Hua suddenly retrieved her bow and aimed at the girl, attacking her before anyone could react. The arrow landed directly on the robes that covered her shoulder, tearing it down. Her attack did not end with the arrow shooting past her as it was followed by small wind blades that travelled down her shoulder, leaving the top part of her dress shredded. Xue Yueliang was impressed by her control because even though those blades ruined the girl's clothing, they did not leave the slightest cut on her skin. She shot a few arrows in quick succession, ripping holes into her outfit, leaving behind only tattered pieces that slipped off.
The girl who had been insulting her was now in nothing other than her undergarments. The cold wind blowing onto her body made her realise what had happened, and she let out a heaven shaking shriek, causing more gazes to land on her.
How ruthless. Xue Yueliang laughed happily, but her laughter was drowned by the girl's screaming.
Lei Jian bitterly smiled at this situation and waved his hand, forming a light barrier around her, shielding her from the crowd's gaze.
"Do you have any spare robes?" He asked Xue Yueliang. "Only if you'll buy me new ones," she smiled. "Of course." Xue Yueliang smiled at this.
Why did he believe he had to pay when doing others a favour? Wasn't it only fair for him to ask that girl to pay? She guessed she would never understand him and handed a plain grey robe from her storage ring. She did not even know who this belonged to and would certainly not miss it. Lei Jian threw it into the light barrier he had formed, and soon an irritated voice sounded.
"How can I wear something so ugly?" She shrieked louder than before. Expecting him to bring her something more luxurious to wear.
How entitled. This thought appeared simultaneously in the minds of the people present.
"My brother was so kind as to give you something to wear. If you don't come out by the time I count to five, you can just walk back naked to your home." Xue Yueliang said coldly. She was truly angered by this girl, as someone was already doing her favour, so how dare she demand more? It was not hard for them to stand back and enjoy the scene in front of them.
"Y-you're bluffing." The girl said, her voice trembling.
"Why don't you try me." Xue Yueliang began loudly counting, and as soon as she said one, Lei Jian dismissed the barrier, and the girl stood there in grey robes. She was right. This robe was indeed ugly, so ugly that even her slightly pretty features could not hide it.

"You wretch, remember this!" She yelled, pointing a finger toward Li Hua.
Li Hua had already continued browsing, and seeing that she was redressed, she smiled wickedly.
"What are you pointing for? Did you enjoy your last show too much? Want to try again?" The girl's face paled as she ran out of the store, not daring to quibble anymore. This only caused Xue Yueliang to look down on her more, as she was someone who remembered enmity but not gratitude.
"Don't you think you went too far?" Xue Yueliang asked, probingly. That girl had only attacked her ex-nation, and publicly humiliating her felt overboard. Especially so since this would ruin her entire reputation, following her for her entire life.
"There was no real harm done. Her undergarments cover as much as my current clothing does."
"Different nations, different customs." Xue Yueliang said and began to look around with Li Hua, "She's completely your problem, though."
"Heartless."
After browsing for a while longer, Li Hua bought a whole variety of pills, ranging from Energy Restoring Pills, healing pills like the Blood Clotting Pill and Bone Mending Pill plus, cultivating pills, such as Energy Condensing pills.
"Does your sect not have alchemists?" Lei Jian asked curiously, wondering why she had to buy so much.
"They only make medicinal soup," she said, her face greening at its mere mention. As a cultivator foodie, eating gross food was worse for her than having no food. She much preferred these pills that did not have much of a taste. Lei Jian laughed and bought a lot of Energy Condensing pills, while Xue Yueliang bought a few Energy Restoring Pills.
"We're buying clothing next!" Li Hua giggled, clearly having heard Lei Jian's promise.
"Yeah, you really should dress differently." Xue Yueliang commented.
She had no intention of shaming her for how she dressed, but Li Hua made it obvious she was not from around here. This would only cause people to disturb her because they're from differing nations and cause unnecessary trouble. "It's for you," she said. "Pink isn't your colour. It makes you look gentle."
"I'm gorgeous in anything I wear." She said, arrogantly.
Other than that princess, she was confident in her looks, but Li Hua had a point, as wearing bright pink on a hunting trip was not the smartest choice.
"I can't buy too much. I don't want to bankrupt anyone."
"I only promised to buy one robe." Lei Jian joked, a lot more relaxed than he had been previously.
They entered a clothing store named the One Hundred Fabrics, and at this point, Xue Yueliang was sure their naming sense was out of the ordinary.
It is too much to expect people to be eloquent while focussing on their survival. She thought.
Unlike the people in the capital, the cultivators here had the chance of being overrun by a beast tide at any moment.
As soon as the trio entered, an attendant greeted them, "What are our esteemed guests looking for?" She asked politely.
The attendant had space buns in her hair and did not carry the usual grace that was expected.
"My sister here is looking for a luxurious robe that suits her." Li Hua said boastingly, "And this man here is rich. He can pay for everything."
The attendant's eyes lit up and guided them to a different section, happy that the customers she greeted were big spenders. From what Xue Yueliang could see, Li Hua loved spending money, regardless of who it belonged to. The attendant guided them to a separate room, and in that room, there were five robes, each more exquisite than the last, lined up neatly.
"This first robe is known as the Ice Pheonix Robe. It can greatly increase ice type techniques and perfectly defends against a cultivator at the high-level Foundation Establishment Realm stage." The attendant introduced. The robe was icy-blue in colour, with snowflake designs and paired with a silver hairpin.
The attendant was about to speak to introduce the rest, but Xue Yueliang interrupted her. "What about that robe?"
The robe she had pointed at was navy blue in colour, and it had a simple design and was paired with a faint veil and golden earrings.
"Young Lady really has a good eye," the attendant praised. "It's known as the Wind Qilin's Robes, it's meant for cultivators who focus on wind type techniques, but it has no defensive capabilities."
Afraid that they might misconstrue her words, she added, "Of course, the corresponding increase in strength is much greater. We would not trick our customers. The veil suppresses your killing intent, making it many times easier to launch sneak attacks and convenient to practice assassination arts."
A qilin was a creature that loved the peace and only punished the wicked, so she could not be further from its description. The veil did not suit her usual style of fighting head-on, but she liked it. It could even be helpful later on.
"What about the earrings?" She asked, not caring for whatever misinterpretation might happen if she wore it.
"Well, the craftsman who made these earrings suggested they were useful for people who cultivate flame arts, but we have no evidence of this. It is, however, made from good materials, and it suits this outfit, so we just added it on." The attendant said, clearly embarrassed by its lacklustre effect, but sill answered honestly.
"Where can I try it on?" If she wanted it, she should naturally take it. Overthinking things was not her style.
"Right this way," the attendant led Xue Yueliang to a small oval room where she could change her clothes. When she walked back to where the other two were, she heard an audible gasp from them.
The navy blue colour perfectly complimented her skin tone. Its long sleeves reminded people of a still river, with her movements causing light ripples, making a mesmerising sight. The veil that covered half of her face created a mysterious aura. The shimmering gold earring only made it so that people could not retract their eyes from her. She appeared like a mirage, clearly there, but could disappear at any moment.
"See? I told you I would look gorgeous regardless of what I wear." Xue Yueliang teased. Li Hua was the first to snap out of it.
"Of course, my sister is amazing," Li Hua clapped, acting like she was the one who got a new robe.
Her cheerful laughter finally woke the attendant, leading her to smile, "Indeed, it's like this robe was made just for you."
Her previous clothing was not at all ugly, but it did not match her temperament. It was more like the robes were wearing her than the other way round.
"Well, if you just continue staring at me, it won't be mine." Xue Yueliang joked, but Lei Jian did not react until Li Hua nudged him.
"Y-yes, of course." Lei Jian went with the attendant to pay, and Li Hua walked up to Xue Yueliang, "Next time, how about you tear someone's robes, and I get a free dress?" She asked, her eyes filled with pleading.
"Use your own money." Lei Jian was moving on a limited budget, it was okay if she took advantage of him, but she would not let Li Hua do so. "You clearly don't have money troubles."
"Why would I need to have money troubles so my senior can do something for me?" She complained.
Xue Yueliang laughed. Maybe this girl's friendly nature was a guise so she could take advantage of others. Otherwise, how did the Lei Jian she met yesterday become her senior? After running a few errands, the trio finally left Misty City and headed toward the mountains. They did not know how long they would be there, but it would be much more lively than they could expect.
Meanwhile, in the Fu Clan, Fu Mei, Fue Qian's mother, kneeled in front of the patriarch.
"Patriarch, I'm about to head out to Misty Mountains," she said politely, "I ask for your blessing in capturing the one who dared to humiliate us."
"If you need my blessings for such a little thing, you too are a disgrace to our clan." The patriarch harrumphed, as he was still upset that she had dared to interrupt his disciplining last night.
Fu Mei clenched her teeth but remained polite, "Of course, I'll bring her head to you as soon as possible." She then turned away, a dark glint forming in her eyes.
Undying old man, do you not realise that you are no longer at your peak, she darkly thought, Let's see how long you remain arrogant.
With how unlikeable the patriarch was, it was no surprise that his own descendants would develop ill intentions toward him.
No one can blame me.
