CHAPTER 311
Lucas left Grayson's house in a good mood after rebuking Ann until she was annoyed and went to Sun Garden.
When Lucas met Madeline, he gave her the gift box containing the wedding dresses. "Madeline, these are your wedding gown and evening dresses. Sebastian was going to give you this in person at first, but something came up and he couldn't. I volunteered to do it for him. You're not going to blame him for not being considerate enough, are you?"
"Of course not." She accepted the gift box and courteously replied, "Thank you, Lucas."
"There's no need to thank me. I should be the one thanking you!" Then, he clasped his hand and said, "Thank you, Madeline, for allowing me to leave the house with a valid excuse. I need to meet my friend right now. By the way, the designer's phone number is in the gift box. If the dress doesn't fit you, contact the designer right away. They will rush here to solve all of your problems."
She smiled and nodded. "Okay. Take care!"
He made the OK gesture and left cheerfully. Since work has been busy lately, it's been a few days since I hung out with my scumbag… oops, I mean a reunion with my buddies. So, I'm not going back home until I'm drunk!
Madeline left the office carrying the gift box and returned to her bedroom after Lucas had left. There was a wedding gown, two evening dresses, and a short knee-length dress inside the large gift box.
She put on her wedding dress and looked in the mirror. It was stunningly gorgeous, far more so than she had anticipated. The wedding dress' hemline was seen dragged on the floor and adorned with
numerous small diamonds that glistened like a galaxy. The dress was a perfect fit and it was neither too loose nor too tight. It outlined her slender and graceful figure, complete with a full chest and a graspable slim waist. The back of the wedding gown was fully exposed, with looming silver threads connected by a series of white pearls. The pearls glistened softly, and they complemented her fair skin. She spun a few rounds in front of the mirror and didn't want to take it off.
It never occurred to Madeline that she would be so fortunate to wear such a beautiful wedding dress and marry such a wonderful man. She had always assumed that she would never marry in her life because all she wanted was to raise her two children well and see them happy. So, she had never imagined herself having such good fortune and happiness. It was implausible to the extent that pigs could fly.
Sebastian… Madeline couldn't stop blushing and her heart fluttered at the thought of this great man who shone brighter than the night sky. She had never met such a great and powerful man before. He was smart, wise, righteous, and perfect. How many good deeds have I done in my previous life to be so fortunate in this life to be able to marry him?
At this moment, she couldn't help but pull out her phone and take photos of herself in the mirror. After a long time, she reluctantly removed her wedding dress and tried on the other dresses.
There were two evening dresses; one was red, and the other was silvery white. The red one was a bodycon dress that showed off her figure and made it look more perfect than a model's. On top of that, the flaming red color made her fair skin stand out as if she were a high-quality white jade, which attracted people. Meanwhile, her silver evening gown was a mermaid-style gown that emphasized her slim and slender figure. She looked unattainably stunning in that outfit. The last short knee-length dress was pink with a ladylike pattern. Madeline appeared very young after trying it on as if she were an
eighteen-year-old student. She hadn't worn this shade of pink in a long time, and it made her feel awkward.
Her phone rang as she turned around in front of the mirror, thinking that this dress wasn't quite right for the wedding. It was a phone call from Sebastian.
Sebastian's voice immediately resonated in her ears after she picked up the phone and placed it next to her ear. "Well? Do you like the wedding dress and evening dresses?"
"I like them very much!" Madeline then expressed her gratitude by saying, "Thank you."
"Even though we haven't had the wedding ceremony, we are already husband and wife. You don't have to be so formal with me," he stated.
She was at a loss for words and became slightly nervous. Her heart was racing, and her mind had gone blank. Despite her best efforts, she could not come up with a suitable response to his statement.
Sebastian couldn't help but smile as he imagined her nervous expression from the other end of the phone. "There is a casual dress in addition to the wedding dress and evening dresses. Do you like it?"
"I do." She felt embarrassed as she looked down at the pink knee-length dress. "But it looks too young. It would appear that I am faking a youthful appearance."
"What do you mean by faking it?" With a smile, he said, "You are still young."
"What?" Madeline was even more embarrassed. "Quincy and Joel have already grown so much..."
At this moment, she couldn't help but pull out her phone and take photos of herself in the mirror. After a long time, she reluctantly removed her wedding dress and tried on the other dresses.
"What does the growth of Quincy and Joel have to do with you?" Sebastian explained. "You look young. That's why I'm curious to see what you'll look like in pink. If we ever have a daughter, she will undoubtedly look like you."
She was speechless again. Is he teasing me again? However, he claims that we might have a daughter in the future. If I can give him a daughter after the wedding, we will be a real family by then, right?
Their five-member family would be comparable to any other in the world; average but stable and content. The identities of Quincy and Joel would also become more well-defined.
Instinctively, Madeline's heart rate increased, and her cheeks began to flush.
After not hearing from her for a while, Sebastian asked, "Why are you not saying anything?"
"What?" Her heart was racing faster than usual, and she stuttered, "I-I'm fine with either a son or a daughter. Quincy and Joel keep asking for a little sister..."
"Oh," he chuckled. "I need to work harder as well! But I need your assistance in generating a favorable condition. Have you informed Quincy and Joel that they will be moving to the children's room within the next two days?"
"I did, but Joel really doesn't want to. I will persuade him once more when he is in a good mood. N-No need to worry so much," she stated. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
"I'm not worried." Sebastian contradicted his own words by meaning the opposite. Then, he justified his explanation, "I'm doing this solely for our sons. If their classmates know that they are still sleeping with their parents when they are already in the third grade, they will laugh at them."
Madeline was speechless by his explanation. Like I'll believe you!
After a period of silence, she finally agreed and said, "I'll do my best."
"Okay. By the way..." Sebastian said, "Are you free tonight? Didn't I promise to bring you to meet my childhood friends, but we didn't make it because I had something else to do? Tonight, I will make a second appointment with them, and I will take you to meet them. Can you free up some time?"
"Sure," Madeline replied. She wasn't very busy because her firm had only recently opened in Dusktown, and few people knew about it. Typically, she would be playing with her sons at night.
She asked, after a brief pause, "Should I bring Quincy and Joel? Or should they stay at home?"
