Time flew by and Barbatos’ second annual sacrifice began.
In the Eternal Continent, his believers were preparing for the second annual sacrifice. As usual, Eldric led the ceremony, with thousands of wolf beastmen behind him, all kneeling toward the ancestral hall.
They had already chosen the object for their sacrifice: the hive of a Three-Colored Honey Bee. The hive was placed reverently just outside the entrance, directly facing the ancestral hall.
The honey produced by the three-colored honey bee was a highly valuable training resource. Its primary function was to significantly increase the chances of breaking through major realms at the Sixth-Order and below.
For instance, a Sixth-Order Peak Stage Elite consuming the three-colored honey would have a 50% increased chance of breaking through to the Seventh-Order Epic. Similarly, a First-Order Peak Stage Mortal would have a 100% chance of advancing to the Second-Order Mortal.
Interestingly, the three-colored honey bees themselves were not particularly powerful. They were mostly First-Order Mortals, with the Queen Bee being at the Second-Order. Due to their small size and limited combat capabilities, the wolf beastmen easily subdued and sealed them in their hive, which they then offered as a sacrifice.
The three-colored honey was so valuable that even Nine-Turn Demigods would not hesitate to wage divine war for it, especially if the quantity of hives was substantial enough to tempt a Gold Demigod.
Although the wolf beastmen had discovered only one hive, they offered it without hesitation to their lord god. For them, the value of pleasing their great god Barbatos far surpassed any material gain.
Even if the offering was just a single three-colored honey bee hive, they were ready to sacrifice anything, including their lives, for their revered deity.
With Eldric leading the annual sacrifice, he prayed, “Oh great God of Free Wind, we, your humble servants, offer you this precious hive of the Three-Colored Honey Bee. May our devotion and this offering bring forth your divine favor upon us.”
As he spoke, the wolf beastmen joined in, their voices rising in a harmonious chant that echoed through the clearing, “Great God of Free Wind, accept our sacrifice. Guide us with your divine wisdom and protect us with your boundless power.”
…
Inside the ancestral hall, Barbatos had already sent his divine projection to the Eternal Continent and was observing the annual sacrifice of his believers.
After they completed their chant, Barbatos heard a notification sound in his mind.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
-Ding!
[Your believers have performed their annual sacrifice.]
[Sacrificing the hive of Three-Colored Honey Bees…]
[Obtaining hundred times the reward: The hive of Six-Colored Honey Bees!]
The hive of Three-Colored Honey Bees placed in front of the ancestral hall had disappeared and reappeared in Barbatos’ space storage, now transformed into the hive of a Six-Colored Honey Bee.
Seeing the result of his believers’ annual sacrifice, Barbatos sighed in relief, “This annual sacrifice is incredibly valuable.”
“I didn’t expect my believers to be lucky enough to find a Three-Colored Honey Bee hive. When I had used my divine perception before, it wasn’t within my range, so my believers must have ventured farther from the base to find it.”
“Although it was risky, it paid off. The Three-Colored Honey Bee hive is among the top 100 must-have resources or treasures for a demigod in the Eternal Continent.”
“As for the Six-Colored Honey Bee hive, it’s within the top 25 must-have list for a demigod.”
Barbatos pondered, “There’s also the Nine-Colored Honey Bee hive, which ranks in the top 10 must-have list for a demigod.”
He remembered that if a drop of Three-Colored Honey could allow a Sixth-Order Peak Stage Elite to break through to become a Seventh-Order Epic, then a drop of Six-Colored Honey could allow an Eight-Order Peak Stage Legendary to become a Ninth-Order Bronze Demigod!
As for the sought-after Nine-Colored Honey, it was a valuable divine resource even for demigods like Barbatos and others in the Divine God City.
There were Nine-Colored Honey sold in the marketplace, but it was always sold out, mostly available at auctions where it was in high demand.
After all, even a Gold Demigod could use Nine-Colored Honey to increase their breakthrough chances. Although the increase in breakthrough chances was low, it was still better than nothing.
For Gold Demigods who had lived long, they wouldn’t hesitate to exhaust all their wealth to increase their chances of breaking through to become a True God.
Becoming a True God meant becoming an “independent adult” in the Endless Void, losing the newbie protection of the Eternal Continent. However, most demigods wouldn’t want to remain weak for their entire lives.
At least 99.99% of demigods wouldn’t hesitate to become a True God, even if it meant losing their demigod status and the protection of the Eternal Continent.
As a True God, they would no longer be protected by the Will of the Endless Void.
While a demigod in the Eternal Continent couldn’t be harmed even by a Main God, a True God could be attacked by a Median True God, let alone a Main God.
Of course, that was assuming the Main God could find the location of the True God’s kingdom of god in the Endless Void.
As the name suggests, the Endless Void is vast. The distance between a True God’s kingdom and another’s could be millions of kilometers.
If the Eternal Continent could be described as a miniature universe, then the Endless Void was a vast multiverse.
Because of that, there were countless gods and living beings residing in the Endless Void. Only by becoming a Main God would a god have a high status in the Endless Void.
Even Upper True Gods would be reduced to ants when up against a Main God.
Barbatos was well aware of that, but he knew he was still weak and those were the least of his worries.
Taking a glance at the Six-Colored Honey Bee hive in his space storage, Barbatos pondered, “Should I use my hundredfold increase opportunity on it and transform it into a Nine-Colored Honey Bee hive, or should I use it instead for my single divine position and allow myself to awaken another godhead?”
“Or should I use it on Eldric and improve his power and bloodline so that he can become a high-rank beastman rather than a low-rank one?”
