Chapter 3

“Huh? What?” Kyoko blinked, an intoxicated look on her face as she was abruptly separated from her minute-long hug. “Alice…?” Kyoko asked, curious as to why her friend had suddenly stood up.

With a determined look in her eyes, Alice said, “Kyoko, stay here. Please.” Kyoko blinked, wondering why Alice had given her such an abrupt request. Without waiting for a reply, Alice turned around, her eyes meeting the army of goblins.

Alice ran. She ran with wild abandon as she dashed for the goblins. Every second counted, Alice knew. The sooner she arrived, the less casualties there would be. However, did Kyoko know? Definitely not.

Eyes pried opened, Kyoko stared, not at Alice, but the location she was headed.

Goblins. A hundred of them, all bloodthirsty and armed. With a dagger in their hands, and madness in their eyes, the goblins rushed towards the ninety-eight prey in front of their eyes.

“Alice!” Kyoko screamed, only to be ignored by her blonde little friend. Kyoko panicked, her mind a blank. However, as if deciding for Kyoko herself, her legs started moving on their own.

Covering a few meters per stride, Kyoko ran. Though she was unarmed, she did not care. With her model-like figure, Kyoko quickly closed the distance gained between her and Alice. Yet, she was too late.

Alice collided with the goblin army, the little midgets finally taking notice of a smaller, but prettier prey. They laughed, foolish prey they thought, if only that were true…

Kyoko halted, her eyes wider than ever. She questioned her mind, of the reality before her. Just moments ago, panic and despair had wrought her being as she watched her friend diving into the onslaught of the monsters, but now… nothing of the sort.

“A-Alice…?” Kyoko blinked, her eyes filled with both awe, and shock. Similar to the ninety-eight others, Kyoko stared dumbfounded at the performance before her.

A symphony.

A symphony of death.

If Alice were the maestro, then her sword, the baton.

If the goblins were the orchestra, then the humans, the audience.

Alice conducted, and the goblins, played.

A concerto, led by the sword, accompanied by the throes, of a hundred goblins…

The battle was over, only minutes had passed.

Drenched in sweat, but not a drop of blood, Alice, the maestro of death… collapsed.

“Alice!” Kyoko shouted, her mind regaining clarity at the sight of her friend collapsing. Ignoring the quiet stares of wonder, Kyoko ran to her friend.

“Alice! Are you alright?! Are you hurt anywhere?!” Kyoko asked in a panicked voice as she kneeled beside her seemingly unconscious friend.

“Kyoko…?” Alice muttered, her voice strained and tired. “I’m fine… Just… tired… Need rest…” Alice stated, her eyes barely open, and the sound of her lungs pulling in air loud and audible.

Relief washed over Kyoko’s mind for the second time today as she heard her friend’s answer. Breathing out a helpless sigh, Kyoko gave her friend a flick on the forehead, the recipient wincing in both pain and surprise. “Fine. But you have a lot of explaining to do when you wake up!” Kyoko stated, a strict smile decorating her face.

“Mm…” Alice nodded before losing consciousness.

----------------------------------------

“Alice…?” Kyoko whispered.

No response.

“Alice~ Are you awake?” Kyoko asked softly once more.

Nothing.

“…”

Sniff.

Sniff. Sniff.

“Aahh……!!” Kyoko moaned, ecstasy drowning her mind. Quickly wiping away her forming drool, Kyoko’s hands fluttered to bring out her smartphone.

Snap. Snap.

Snap. Snap. Snap. Snap. Snap. Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap!

The shutters of the built-in camera on Kyoko’s smartphone snapped endlessly, following the rhythm of Kyoko’s thundering thumb.

[Warning: Memory capacity full!]

A click came from Kyoko’s tongue as the line of text appeared on her smartphone. “Tch… Only 3,218 shots… If I knew I would get such a chance, I would’ve moved the previous photos to my computer!” Kyoko cursed, begrudgingly creating several new folders named [A Sleeping Alice!], [A Sweaty Alice!], [A Messy Alice!], so on and so forth, alongside several other folders.

“Now…” Storing away her newly attained collection, a devilish smile appeared unto Kyoko’s face as she stared at her friend’s delicate face. Gently and carefully swiping her finger across Alice’s lips, Kyoko swiped off a droplet of liquid, a mixture of both sweat and saliva. With trembling hands and lust-clouded eyes, Kyoko brought the precious drop of liquid to her extended tongue. However… all good things must eventually… come to an end.

“Um, excuse me.” Kyoko jolted in surprise, a look of shock and disappointment spread through her face as she watched the precious drop of liquid fall from the tip of her index finger.

“Yes?” Kyoko answered, forcing a smile, laced with murderous intent, as she turned to look at the pair of male and female beside her. “How may I help you?”

“Ah.” The pair gasped, shocked as their eyes laid upon the two beauties laying in front of them. A princess and her doll. A thought similarly shared between the two.

Being the first to snap out of their shock, the woman with an office-worker’s look was the first to speak. “We were wondering if… um, the girl just now was fine,” she stated, her tone slightly nervous as her gaze fixated upon the pristine looking doll.

“Ah, she’s fine, I suppose.” Kyoko replied with another artificial smile, her mood slightly worsened at the thought of Alice’s figure being ingrained in someone else’s minds. “Can we please save the questions for later? My friend is tired, and she needs rest right now.” Kyoko stated, earning nods of agreement from the two.

“Tch… fucking disturbances…” Kyoko cursed, a scowl replacing her smile as the pair of office workers walked away.

“Nn… No… Please… No…”

“Aw~! Are you having a nightmare~? Ah! Camera! Wait, no! Fuck! Delete, delete! Ah, no! Not delete all!”
