The world was dark and desolate. Completely submerged in water, unpredictable weather plagued the planet of Amoura, until one day the storm clouds parted, and a shooting star soared through the sky. The shooting star (later to be identified as a meteor) crashed into the center of the planet, deep into the sea and not long after, A small island emerged from its wake. Time passed and it was not long after that life on the island began to grow. Standing at the center of the island was a majestic tree with vines reaching all edges of the world. The tree also bore fruit unlike any other. A plump pinkish fruit with a juicy blood red center. Life on the island thrived off the fruit causing some of the animals to develop unique abilities helping them to survive.
It was not until the evolution of Amouran's that the unexpected happened. Atara, a young girl from the small tribe was amazed by all the wonders the island had to hold. Colorful birds chirping above the tree-tops and bountiful fish swimming near the bay. Despite her father’s warnings to not stray from camp, Atara felt as if she was being called towards the heart of the island. One night, Atara left the comfort and security of the camp and wandered deep into the forest. She walked closer and closer to the heart until Atara stood before the tree of Eve. In a dream-like daze, she slowly began to climb the vines. As Atara climbed the great trunk of the tree she could hear the voice becoming stronger, pulling her closer to the top. As daylight slowly began to break out from the horizon, Atara reached the center of the tree. Her eyes were immediately met with branches teeming with plentiful fruit. The young Amouran girl outreached her hand, and the branch lowered, yielding to her touch as the fruit swiftly fell into her hand.
Atara’s tribe frantically searched for the girl fearing the worst. As the campfires dwindled to ember and ash, all hope was lost. However, as dawn approached, a light made its way out of the dense jungle and Atara stood before her tribe, fully reborn. Stronger and wiser than before, Atara told her tribe of the wisdom she had received. Together her tribe formerly settled and built their village. Atara became known as the first Amouran to consume the fruit from the tree. Vowing to protect the island and the tree, Atara became the guardian of Eve. Still connected to the voice of the island, Atara knew the tree desired nothing more than praise and worship. And any who dared to cause any harm to the island were met with a gruesome punishment.
Hundreds of years passed, the tribe grew and ascended to prosperity. Atara with the essence of the fruit still residing within her had aged slowly with time, no longer the young girl from the past, now appearing as a radiant strong woman. She sensed something stirring within the island, a feeling she could not explain. The animals sensed it too, appearing to be on edge, as if they were waiting. Something different began to grow on the tree of eve. A cocoon crafted out of bismuth. The crystal cocoon began to grow, relishing the praise of the worshipers who devoted their lives to ensure its protection, some dying before ever seeing it hatch. Atara knew that whatever lies in the cocoon was meant for greatness, finally feeling like her purpose was to be fulfilled. It was not until the sun blocked out the moon when the Trees of Eves intentions became clear. The Day of Luz was a day the world would never forget. The entire world became pierced with an overwhelming light as the glowing cocoon shell shed. As the cocoon withered and dropped to the floor the secret within was revealed.
A young woman broke out from the cocoon and stumbled as made her way down the branches of the tree. The moment the worshippers laid their eyes upon the woman; they all fell to their knees in reverence of the divine being before them. Not like any mere Amouran Vitalani, the goddess of life possessed deep tanned skin and voluminous curly dark hair. Atara, upon seeing Vitalani immediately knew that it was the goddesses’ voice that had been guiding her all these years. Together Atara and her tribe helped Vitalani, building glamorous temples and shrines in her honor. Vitalani made her mark on the world as gentle and benevolent. With the power to heal the sick and bestow blessings of fortune upon the worthy. She pulled islands from the sea and the population expanded. Vitalani eventually learning to live among the Amouran’s. This harmony however was not meant to last because with life there must also come death.

Unbeknownst to them all, another tree lied beneath the island of eve. Deep underground, below the seabed grew a much smaller tree with rotted bark and diseased fruit, with the only company coming from maggots and bats. The diseased fruit cursed the consumer with incredible power but with a dire cost. In time this tree of Muertos produced a cocoon of its own made entirely from onyx, sickly and small, leaking an ooze that even the insects refused to touch. As Vitalani wandered the surface above, the cocoon below withered and decayed, alone in the dark. Animals soon began to take notice of this shift in the wind, and it did not take long after that until Vitalani and Atara sensed it too. The clouds darkened and a bitter frost covered the planet, causing hunger and plague all throughout. The darkest and coldest day in history was when the moon completely blocked out the sun, enveloping the world in darkness. Only then did the Cocoon growing on the Tree of Muertos split open and a young man crashed to the ground.
Damius the god of death was scrawny and malnourished. Ghostly skin, black eyes, and long dark hair. He tore out from the ground away from the island of eve, with the moon creating a temporary cover from the sun. The cover did not last for long as the sun reclaimed its rightful place in the sky and Damius became blinded by its purifying light. Angered by this, the god of death roared in anguish before fleeing into the forest. He spotted a stag drinking from a stream and overcome with hunger tore into the animal, becoming the first soul to be touched at the hands of death. Vitalani, still focusing on putting a stop to the frost, hears news of a demon in the forest on the mainland. Wanting to appease her followers, Vitalina decides to investigate, but she was not prepared for what she was about to face. The farther Vitalani moved into the forest the more she could feel something was amiss, as if all the life has been bled dry leaving only death. Vitalani encountered the demon. Only it was not demon instead appearing as a man with antlers sprouting from his head. It was then that life and death met for the very first time.
The war between life and death was a long and tumultuous one. Bringing both eras of light and life as well as darkness and death. The inhabitants of the planet had to learn to survive the harsh conditions. Vitalani, along with Atara battled against Damius and the souls of whom he controlled. Seven souls ascended in battle becoming Damius’ league of deadly sins. These sins scorched the planet in his name but despite this Life would not yield to his forces. Vitalani along with the Amouran’s fought for the planet and all its life, leading to a standstill between the two cosmic forces. Vitalani earnest to show Damius the wonders of mortal life, began to grow fond of the god of death. The same could be said for Damius as he too began to soften under Vitalani guiding touch. The two gods ended their fighting and thus began the delicate dance between life and death bringing balance to the world. Followers of Vitalani rejoiced and accepted Damius as a necessity they all must face when their time comes. The marriage between the divine beings was described as a day of union felt around the world. As reminders of their everlasting love, the two gods created spirit companions for one another, so they would never be apart. For Damius, a creature made of moonlight and death, a snow leopard named Yue. And for Vitalani, a creature crafted of sunlight and life, a wolf by the name of Sol. Together, Vitalani and Damius, along with their spirit companions, guided and influenced the world into what all Amouran’s know today. Even having wonderful children of their own in time. And that is where our real story begins.
