TEASER

An earth-shattering explosion tore through the air, its shockwave throwing Silas's body into the sky before slamming him violently into a nearby wall. The impact was unforgiving—his back crashed into the solid surface, as if he were weightless. The jolt reverberated through him, rattling his bones. Then came the pain—searing through his spine, each pulse more excruciating than the last.

His head tilted upward involuntarily, the agony overwhelming him. With that subtle shift, a warm sensation spread across his scalp, but it was a fleeting discomfort compared to the burning agony in his back. His focus shattered, and all he could feel was that blinding pain.

He wasn’t sure if the impact had distorted his vision or if the thick smoke swirling around him caused the blur, but through the haze, one thing was undeniable: a shadow was forming. It was growing larger with each passing second, advancing toward him with relentless purpose through the swirling dust.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

Adrenaline surged through his veins, igniting the last flicker of strength he had left. Gritting his teeth, Silas fought against the unbearable ache, pushing himself up—every movement a blaze of fire searing through his body. His muscles trembled violently, each step a battle against the sharp needles of pain that prickled his skin. But he forced himself to stand. There was no other choice.

Still, his legs wavered beneath him.

Move, damn it! If you don’t, you’ll die here!

His feet dragged sluggishly forward, each step weighed down by invisible chains. One foot, then the other. Every step felt like trudging through thick mud, each inch of movement agonizingly slow. Then, on the fourth step, a searing spike of pain shot through his body, but he couldn’t stop.

I’m about to pass out... I can’t. If I fall asleep here, I’ll never wake up.

With his vision starting to blur, his last shred of will gave way, and he called out to the only being who could save him now.

"ULTI!"

A moment of silence lingered before a voice echoed in his mind—calm and neutral, yet laced with a trace of mockery.

[Finally dropped your pride, huh?]

Silas gritted his teeth, a frown deepening on his bloodied face. The sting of having to ask for help gnawed at him, but deep down, he knew the voice was right. His stubbornness had brought him to this hellish situation. Yet, admitting defeat still left a bitter taste in his mouth. Pride might have kept him going, but it wouldn’t save him now.

I know! It was a mistake... I... I need your help.

[That’s all I needed to hear, Mire. Pride is one thing, but don’t confuse it with weakness. Asking for help doesn’t change who you are.]

A weight lifted from his chest—one that had nothing to do with his physical injuries. The storm of conflicting thoughts in his mind subsided, replaced by a rare clarity that helped steady the adrenaline surging through his veins. The pain still tore through his body, and the world around him seemed to tilt, but Ulti’s words offered a strange sense of reassurance.

It feels strange hearing you say that. It doesn't quite suit you.

[Do you still need my help or not?]

Silas wanted to respond, the irritation in Ulti's voice echoing in his mind, but he couldn’t. Those were the last words he heard before his body lost its remaining strength. His vision darkened, the pain, the chaos—all of it slipping away. Just before consciousness slipped from him, a fleeting flash of blue appeared before his eyes, sharp and clear.

Just as Silas’s body was on the brink of collapse, something extraordinary occurred. His right foot slammed down, anchoring him to the earth. In that instant, a surge of dark blue, iridescent Aura exploded from his foot, pushing back the smoke and dust that enveloped the place. The light was blinding, a flash that cut through the air like a beacon, leaving a stunned silence in its wake.

When the dust cleared, a chilling sight emerged before the crowd, leaving them wide-eyed. Silas, bloodied and battered, was somehow standing tall, his bruised skin and torn clothes a stark contrast to the quiet confidence that now emanated from him. His posture was rigid, his eyes glowing with an unsettling dark blue, an aura of cold, dangerous power radiating from him.

But it was the smile—twisted, malevolent, and devoid of mercy—that truly froze the onlookers.

The same figure they had seen before, aloof and expressionless, now wore a grin so full of malice, so incomprehensible. It sent a chill down their spines. His opponent faltered, unsure of how to proceed. Was this a trap? Or was something far worse emerging before them?

Silas didn’t give his opponent a chance to second-guess. With a violent surge of Aura, he lunged forward, the ground trembling beneath his feet. The power emanating from him seemed to distort the very air around them, an invisible pressure building in the atmosphere.

It was terrifying—a force unlike anything they had anticipated.

But it wasn’t just the power that unnerved them—it was the unsettling, chilling laughter that followed. It wasn’t born of madness, but something darker. More dangerous.

The laughter echoed through the crowd, seeping into their hearts, filling the space with tension, confusion, and unease. It was the laugh of someone who had long abandoned hope for mercy, someone who had become a force of destruction.

In an instant, Silas closed the distance, now standing face-to-face with his enemy. His smile remained unchanged—dark, twisted, and merciless. His eyes glowed with an intensity that seemed to freeze the air around them, leaving an oppressive stillness.

Standing inches from his opponent, Silas whispered, his voice laced with mockery and cold menace.

"So... are you ready?"
