After The Fall: Rampant Growth
How OP do you want your MC?

How OP do you want your MC?

This chapter is going to be a little bit different. I am setting it up as a poll. I love the idea of audience engagement, so I will let my readers vote which direction we go. Glen got the choice between one of nine available classes, there are more available, but these are the ones that MC-198 thinks will be the best fit. I am going to outline each class, then I will open a poll. Whichever one gets the most votes, even if it is only a single vote, that is the direction we are going.

The rarity of the class affects how many skills, and the simplicity of them. There is strength in simplicity, there is utility in complexity. Starting at a common Class does not mean it cannot be advanced later. I would like to add that even though this choice decides what skills Glen will have access to for now, he will definitely be expanding from here in time.

That being said I already know the direction this story is going regardless of his class. Some of these I know exactly how I’ll get Glen where I want him, others I’ll have to figure out if we go that route. But honestly, that’s a lot of the fun using writing as my creative outlet and medium.

In LITrpg stories, the MC always ends up OP. That is kind of the unspoken rule. You folks get to decide if you want him to start with a busted class and grow in to it, or start with an extremely basic class and figure out the rest as we go. There are several power tiers I intend to use, none of these options are anywhere near the top. Power creep is always an issue in these kinds of stories, but I intend to do my best to start Glen strong enough to be interesting, while also not being the top dog day one. Without further ado, I present to you the classes.

----------------------------------------

----------------------------------------

Three white common grade classes:

Initiate Spearman- Straight forward martial class, uses a spear as a primary weapon. A close balance of attack and defense, leaning only slightly towards offence.

-Active: [Piercing Thrust] Energy is drawn out of your body and concentrated in to a singular sharp point, this reinforcement will allow you to pierce what normally you would struggle to scratch.

-Passive: [Basic Spear Mastery] Your rudimentary mastery of this weapon allows your spirit to resonate with each attack. Any blow that lands from the point of your spear will do additional damage.

Initiate Runner- Years of conditioning your body for exploration has made you eligible for the runner class. You don’t simply need to get to where you’re going, you want to do so quickly.

-Active: [Momentum] Once you begin running you build Momentum Stacks, making an attack converts all stacks of Momentum to a damage multiplier on your target. Higher instances deal larger amounts of damage.

-Passive: [Energized] You will never lack for stamina, you recover from fatigue at an increased rate.

Initiate Shield Bearer- Your drive to protect those around you, and your higher than average fortitude have made you eligible for the Shield Bearer class.

-Active: [Behind Me!] Your loved ones will never suffer as long as you are around. When this skill activates you will be quickly moved to the target you wish to defend.

-Passive: [Quickened Recovery] Your need to put yourself in to harm's way means that you often receive injuries meant for others. With this passive you will recover from any injury at a slightly increased rate.

Two Uncommon Grade Classes: gets +1 skill slot, can be either active or passive.

----------------------------------------

Novice Spear Champion- Your drive to learn the spear above all other weapon types has given you insight in your weapon of choice. You gain significant benefits when using a spear but suffer penalties when using any other type of weapon.

-Active: [My Spear Strikes True] The next thrust made from any spear like weapon will minorly warp reality so that your hit can land. Does not guarantee is damage dealt.

-Active: [Trippel Thrust] When activated the next attack made with a spear will be made three fold. A blurry after image will conceal your strikes. Only the first hit to land will deal damage, the others will fade away as if they never existed.

-Passive: [Spear Mastery] You have learned to fight as if your weapon is an extension of your body. Any hit landed with any part of this weapon resonates with your soul and increased damage is dealt on a successful attack.

Inspiring Leader- You have displayed great competency to those that follow you. Those you lead will be inspired and empowered to better carry out your commands.

-Active: [I Command It] Once per day you can issue a command to someone that willingly follows your lead. The person receiving the command will be empowered for a short duration as long as they follow your orders.

If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

-Passive: [Inspiring Presence] An aura is generated a short distance from you that buffs those that follow you in combat. They fight harder, faster, and longer as long as you fight alongside them.

-Passive: [Persuasive Argument] When disagreeing with another individual, they have a natural tendency to want to see your side. This skill has reduced influence on people of higher advancement than you.

Two Rare Grade Classes: gets +2 skill slots, one is guaranteed active, and the other passive.

----------------------------------------

Nano-Architect- For being one of the first one thousand humans to reach the Cultivation Rank of Initiate within the Foundation Realm you have unlocked a Rare class. Taking in to consideration your nanites you have been awarded Nano-Architect.

-Active: [Create Construct] Using both spirit and nanites you can create a temporary construct that will be specialized for the task it was created for. The length of time it persists, and duration before you can create another construct depends on how much spirit and how many nanites are used.

-Active: [Create Weapon] You gain the ability to create a weapon, construction time and durability is based on resources used. This weapon is built from your nanites reserve and strengthened by your spirit.

-Passive: [Microcultivation] You accumulate World Energy passively, even when not meditating. A percentage of your nanites will be reserved for this function. This can not be undone as they will be changed on a fundamental level.

-Passive: [Molecular Reinforcement] You are rebuilt at a base level to be tougher. Your skin grows denser. This skill can grow with you in time based on material availability.

Soul Spear- For being one of the first one thousand humans to reach the Cultivation Rank of Initiate within the Foundation Realm you have unlocked a Rare class. Taking in to consideration your years training with a spear, it has become a part of you. You’ll never be unarmed.

-Active: [Call Spear] Manifest a part of your soul to be as a weapon. This weapon is near indestructible as long as you live, but pushing it’s durability places a strain on your soul. You can reshape your weapon at will, doing so does require your full attention for ten full seconds. This can be reduced through training over time.

This item will last indefinitely as long as it is within 20 meters of you, outside of that range it will lose cohesion and fall apart. You may only manifest one spear at a time, this number can be increased over through training over time.

-Active: [Synchronicity] For a short period of time your soul becomes one with the world. You can feel the slight change in the breeze, the vibrations in the world. You see all, because you are one with all.

-Passive: [Lesser Synchronicity] You touch on the concept of One with All, not quite achieving it, but standing on the precipice. More often than not you make the right choice, some call it luck, but unconsciously your feel the flow of the world and swim with the current.

-Passive: [Mind Spike] Your soul is as sharp as your spear. Anyone attempting to manipulate you through mental or soul influencing abilities will have a harder time. If their attempt fails, they will receive a sharp stabbing pain, the damage is soul based. There is no visible damage, but the effects linger for up to several days based on the power disparity between yourself and the intruder.

Two Epic grade classes: gets +3 skill slots. Will be a total of two active, two passive, and a fifth skill that can be chosen from a list of available skills at the time of selecting your class.

----------------------------------------

Soul Sovereign Aspirant- For being one of the first two hundred humans to reach the Cultivation Rank of Initiate within the Foundation Realm you have unlocked an Epic class. By forcing a connection early to The System, you have asserted you dominance over reality itself. As a Soul Sovereign you’ll be able to establish a kingdom within yourself that you impose on to the world. You are the King of your own domain. That domain is where you decide it is. You’re not a Sovereign yet, but choosing this class starts you down the path to rule.

-Active: [Royal Decree] Impose your will upon the world, force it to kneel before you. For a short time bend the laws of reality to your command. The larger the decree, the more potent the backlash you will receive. There WILL be backlash.

-Active: [Might of a Nation] For a short period of time, you borrow the strength of every sentient being that acknowledges you as their ruler. Draining them of strength will leave your people unable to defend themselves, you better be ready to carry the weight of this decision.

-Passive: [Fit to Rule] You are a king that will rule for centuries. As long as you have loyal subjects, you will be at your peak to command them. Every person under your command willingly gives 1% of their stats to you as tribute. If someone would not give this 1% to you, then they are not your subject and do not receive benefits from any other buffs you may provide.

-Passive: [Behind My Walls, Safety Reigns] Every King needs a castle. Choose one location no greater than 200 meters by 200 meters. This shall be the Citadel from which you rule. The walls to your Citadel will passively strengthen over time based on the number of people contributing within. Any damage sustained will be repaired over time, in the event the building is entirely destroyed you will be able to choose a new Citadel after one local year.

-Additional Skill Slot: [To be Decided]

Dungeon Hunter- For being one of the first two hundred humans to reach the Cultivation Rank of Initiate within the Foundation Realm you have unlocked an Epic class. Your world has recently stabilized from its integration in to the system, as such it has been seeded sparingly with baby Dungeon Cores. Your close proximity to your local core gives you access to this class. As a Dungeon Hunter, if you are the first of your kind to touch an unclaimed core you may have the opportunity to claim it.

-Active: [Subjugation] You have the power to control a dungeon creature within eye sight. It will no longer be hostile towards you. You can choose to take one permanently to be a soul bound companion. Breaking the bond will allow you to form a new bond after thirty days. Even if done willingly, breaking a bond will cause backlash.

-Active: [Mark Preferred Enemy] When dungeon diving, no two cores are the same. One might throw mutants, instead, or even dragons at you. You simply never know. Once per day you can designate a preferred enemy. When fighting this enemy, you gain natural insight into them. You know how they move, you know how to move to avoid them. When you land a successful attack on a preferred enemy you deal significantly increased damage.

-Passive: [Dungeon Sense] What use is being able to claim a dungeon as your own, if you never see one in a thousand years. If you’re within a hundred miles of an unclaimed dungeon core, you’ll have an innate idea of which direction to go in order to find it. The sensation manifests differently for every person but trust your instincts and they’ll guide you to where you need to be.

-Passive: [Danger Sense] One thing you can always be certain of when going into a dungeon; it IS trying to kill you. Being able to tell when something means you harm, and what direction is coming from is useful in Every situation across the universe, but particularly useful when you’re walking straight into the meat grinder.
