Rustle __ Rustle
The sound of rustling leaves were the only thing one could hear in a certain forest.
The place was dead silent, not even birds chirping nor wolf howling at night.
Somewhere inside a small cave the silhouette of a man could be seen with his shadow flickering with a small fire in the middle.

“Ugh….”
A groan escaped my lips as I peel off the tissue around my injured left hand and arm.
The wound was not closing at all and small trace of decay could be seen, hinting about the deterioration of my body.
It has been five days since I wake up with no memories with those dead bodies, after fainting that day I did wake up after an unknown period of time.
I was hungry, cold, and my whole body felt like shattered glass.
The fact that I didn’t know anything wasn’t helping at all.
So I decided to just walk, as far as possible from the location.
I didn’t know if someone was going to chase me, and the body could attract wild monster.
Considering the state I was in, I didn’t take the risk so I just grit my teeth and began to march the farthest possible from there hoping that whoever those people no one will try to hunt me down.
The morning I would advance further and try to find food, at night I would tend my wound with water and regain a little bit of energy.
That’s how I think things would turn out….
“Tsk……”
“Again, there is absolutely no food in this damn forest”
I’ve gone five days with an empty stomach while walking without stopping during the day.
I started to come near a limit there.
“At least there is water source”
“But shouldn’t water source attract animals?”
“Ugh...I don’t understand”
Ruffling my hair with an annoyed grunt, I decided to push those pointless thoughts out of my mind.
There was still much to understand about everything around.
Funny enough I still haven’t seen my own face, nor do I have a name.
“Haha __ hahaha”
Scratch __ Scratch
My neck began to itch for an unknown reason, the more I laughed the more the itching sensation intensify.

“haaaa… Not even funny”
“Sleep… I need to sleep...yes...yes..sleep”
Laying down on the ground I began to close my eyes.
~~
The next morning I began to resume my journey.
“I hope I find food before I die from hunger alone here”
Looking ahead, I could see the green dense forest stretching in the long distance.
Two massive mountain could be seen far away in the horizon towering everything at sight.
My guts was telling me that I wouldn’t find any help if I don’t cross those mountain.
“Let’s go.”
“I can’t afford to just sit around here.”
‘ Who knows what’s await me in this place’
I could tell it, everything about this forest is cursed. So cursed not even birds could be seen.
The more I walked the more the forest seems to stretch even more, the soil was damp and even the tree didn’t have color as if the forest itself was just…
“Dead”
After walking for 4 hours straight I decided to take a small rest and analyze my
surrounding. I could probably continue walking more but I decide not so.
Gazing at the forest heavy mist blocked everything ahead of me, and unlike before where I could only hear the sound of wind and leaves.
This time everything was dead silent, almost as if I lost my hearing.
Which was impossible since I could hear my own heartbeat speeding at an abnormal rate.
Every hair on my body began to stand. My vision began blur, and my palms began to sweat.
‘Fear’
The most primal and general emotions every being feel.
And today I get to experience the most scary part of fear.
‘Fear of the Unknown’
Yes, the unknown. Because this is not something one would be prepared.
“What in the world… is this?”
I could see a long slick black silhouette moving extremely slowly
from a distance. His whole body was black and his face was empty with no eyes nor mount. His limbs were covered in small hole dripping with white liquid. He was walking with his torso backward.
Everything about that thing was monstrous, he was so tall that if one look at one glance he would look like a tree.
Crack crack crack
As if sensing my gaze the creature began to turn what I believe
his head. A low cracking sound resonated in my ears as he looked in my direction.
Even without eyes or mouth, I could fell him eyeing at me with the most vicious
smile I could possibly imagine.
Then before I could even breath his legs began to bend backwards …..and then he began to run towards me.
The sight was enough to make my face pale from horror.
Without even a second thought I began to run at full speed away from him.
I didn’t even think of checking behind to look if the monster was still
behind me or how near me he was.
My mind was drifting, thinking of any solutions to escape this monster.
But unfortunately this would be the last of my worries. I didn’t know how I was this strong before because I have gone five days without any meals.
But today I felt that no matter one was strong he still need to eat.
“Huf Huf Huf go go go”
My lungs were on fire, my muscle were hurting me to a point where dying was better.
But I still continued to run.
“HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRCCCCK”
crack crack crack
A deafening sound probably coming from the monster began to pierce my ears.
I almost stopped for a second but that was enough for the monster to catch up to me.
His long hand began to dangerously approach my face.
“Shit”
Then a powerful blast finally broke the deadly silence of the forest.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.
