Nana and Mother helped Father into their bedroom while I was tasked with watching my siblings. As I entered the room, I muttered to myself.
"Goblins? Already? I was supposed to have two years minimum before that happened!"
Prana was scared, so I had to calm her down while Nala just looked confused. Taking a deep breath, I cast a spell to eavesdrop on the conversation.
"(Wind, heed my call, gather sound around and bring them to me)[Wandering Whispers]."
A sudden gust of wind enveloped me, carrying the voices of the adults.
"I didn’t think you’d be in this state just because of a bunch of goblins, Alan. [High Heal]. [High Regeneration]. So, what happened?"
"It wasn’t just a bunch of goblins, Lottie. It wouldn’t be a stretch to call it a small goblin army. They had goblins riding dire wolves, hobgoblins using warbows, and shamans undoing whatever damage we dealt to them."
"As expected of you, Lanlan. Defeating them wasn’t a problem for you."
"It was a problem, Nala. They had regeneration like that of trolls. We wouldn’t have survived without help."
I tensed up. This was escalating far earlier than I expected. From what I remember, the goblin army should consist of four wolfriders, supported by four shamans and four hobgoblin archers catering to the game's 6 member party backed by another 6.

"Their regeneration was amazing, and they had a proper backline. The Hobgoblin destroyed anyone who didn't find proper cover while the wolves and spear-wielding riders harassed us while the shamans healed them. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it myself."
"So, who helped you? They must have been a large group to handle that many."
"No, there were only three. One was a lady wearing a long-sleeve black robe and a brimmed hat. She created a rift in space beside us. With her were two warriors.
"One of them wore heavy black armor and wielded two chained greatswords. He threw them like kitchen knives you used to throw, Nala. He bisec-"
"Those aren't kitchen knives, Alan! I still remember when you used my blades as kitchen knife the first time you cooked for us and you paralyzed the whole group for a day when you tried something similar!"
"Haha, I remember that! When I came back, you were all slumped over like ragdolls."
"Anyway," Father continued, "he bisected the wolves and turned the goblin riders into meat paste when he pulled the chains back. The other warrior wielded two long sabers. He wore a mask full of strange symbols and shapes.
"He looked at me for a moment, then walked forward, black lightning covering his body. The energy created a humming sound. Music filled the air as I felt my strength and wounds heal. Then, he started parrying warbow arrows mid-stride. After that, the others followed him leisurely."
"That sounds ominous," Nala replied. "Based on their proficiency, they might be remnants of the Empire’s forces."
"Nala," Father countered, "weren’t those forces wiped out years ago?"
"Subduing an organization like the Empire completely is hard," Nana interjected. "And since you’re fully healed now, something feels hard."
Father grumbled. "Give me a break. Dammit. Since you two brought this up, don’t think you’ll sleep tonight! [Strengthen]. [Energize]."
"It’s two against one," Mother said with a sly tone. "And I’m a healer, so don’t think we’ll let you off easily. [Barrier of Silence]."
I sighed as I turned my attention to my two sisters, both looking up at me with confused expressions.
"It’s good to know our parents are harmonious, but at this rate, you two are going to be big sisters soon."
I patted both of them on the head, my thoughts returning to the earlier conversation. Unlike what Father said, there weren’t three people helping them—only two and a summon.
The problem is, this summon sounds like one of the Empire’s General summons. But I don’t remember any bloodline summon that wields two chained greatswords. The warrior even used a bard like spell, enhancing allies while fighting with twin sabers. I know it's a warrior because bloodline summons, especially with powers like that, won't acknowledge a weak person and can only be commanded after the summoner defeated it in 1v1.
A cursed bloodline warrior with weapon like those? It doesn’t
ring any bells. Is he supposed to die in this event?
