Near the Doram Mountains lay the village of Tamäe, a mountainous area. There was nothing unusual about the village, it was peaceful and full of life, just like any other village upholding their traditions and values that make them whole.
But it wasn’t until one day during the Festival Of Ohtia, Goddess Of Harvest, where a calamity had struck.
In the Haversano forest, a mother and daughter were gathering berries for the festival. As the daughter ran off from her mother to find more berries, her mother called behind her, asking her not to wander too far. The girl, though, didn't heed her prayers, and instead continued to run.
Running through the forest after her child after dropping her basket of fruit, the mother yelled her name. Gazing around the trees, she called her daughter's name repeatedly.
She didn’t reply to her calls.
Panic settled into her chest. Her child wasn’t listening to her calls or making an appearance to her. She yelled her name in desperation, running to find her while hearing a scream.
Recognizing the scream from her daughter, she ran in the direction where it was. As she stepped out of the forest into the clearing, the mother hoped to see her own daughter there, but in the end, she did not. But what she had seen filled her with dread.
The girl lay on the ground in the clearing, with her throat gouged, sprawled on her back. A woman was positioned over her neck, kneeling beside her, and she made moving motions of lowering herself and then raising herself again.
It was uncontainable for the mother to scream in horror as she saw her dead daughter once she saw this site. This jerked the woman's attention to her, her mouth gaping open, blood smeared around her mouth.
In her flight, the mother ran as fast as she could, while the woman that attacked her daughter trailed behind her with unimaginable speed. After she reached the village and screamed out that this girl had attacked her daughter, many of the villagers came to her aid and inquired about the woman. In order to show what was behind her, she pointed to the woman that was chasing behind her, but the woman was nowhere to be seen.
The village was the same, but there was unease after hearing the woman's story about the other woman that attacked her daughter. The villagers had given a curfew to their children so that they could come home at the time that they needed to be back at home.

The children obeyed this rule. Right after they come home from school or visit a friend all come back before sundown.
Local brothels made sure their employees returned home safely and then closed their doors for the regular guests.
One child missed his curfew and had to be home at 9. During his run home, he held a lantern to protect him from the darkness, but as he ran past house after house while holding the lantern, he heard a woman scream. Curiosity drove him towards the sound.
When he reached the spot where the woman screamed, he was inundated with a horrific experience he will never forget.
Another woman, who was extremely beautiful, held the woman, who screamed, close with her mouth latched against her throat. The little boy watched as the woman's throat moved like she was drinking water. Frightened, he cried out in horror.
He saw the eyes of the other woman flared with hunger when she gazed at him. After dropping the body from her arms, she charged at the boy, who ran off.
Cries emanating from the boy woke up the rest of the villagers, many of whom went out of their houses to help the boy tackle the feral woman who had chased him. After the villagers blockaded the woman, they were standing in shock and some disgust at what they were seeing.
Seeing this beautiful, yet blood-soaked woman, the villagers stood in disbelief about her.
Having heard about this mysterious woman from another, Mother Gregoria saw her once she arrived. In all her years, she had never seen such a sight or seen a horror that befell Tamäe.
Once she had gathered herself, she had asked this mysterious woman what was up with her and why she had attacked the village. She then revealed to them she was a creature that ingests the essence of livingness; they make their home in the old Schloss beyond the Doram Mountains.
The news of this horrifying revelation made everyone frightened. Some even told Mother Gregoria to kill her on site for what she had done. It surprised Mother Gregoria when the woman spoke first; she announced that she and the rest of those living in the schloss would continue to attack Tamäe without ceasing.
As a favor to Mother Gregoria, she invited her to speak with the Lady of the castle, and to arrange an end to the attacks on the peaceful village.
At the mention of this, Gregoria decided she would arrange for the lady of the castle to meet with her at the Herald of Ivzotl to discuss this. Some villagers but others met with some displeasure Gregoria’s decision to allow this individual to come speak understood her reasoning to invite the lady living in the old schloss
During the lady of the castle's visitation, no one knew what took place, but it filled the village with an unsettling ambiance. When Mother Gregoria and she met, she announced they had come to an agreement;
In order to stop them from attacking their village, they would give them maidens. In the village, it horrified some with the agreement to give their daughters away at 19 or older to be with the lady of the castle. Some asked what would happen to their daughters while living with her since they had seen what they had done.
Mother Gregoria's only hope for them was that they would return safely and that they would abide by her rules.
