Deep into an unnamed forest, hidden away from the unsuspecting eye by the surrounding plant life, lies a giant facility. Moss covers the majority of the surface, numerous vines and branches invades every crevices they could find, and only silence can be heard within the halls. Abandoned machinery fills each room, big and small ones are randomly scattered everywhere, their appearances match the home they reside in. Decades has pass by since anyone has last stepped into the building, untouched and unkempt, the floors were overrun by weeds and flowers, cracks were staring to form from the ceiling, with the occasional debris dropping onto the floor.
In a certain room, lies a graveyard of humanoid looking machines. Lifeless and abandoned by their creators, they are unable to defend themselves from the elements of nature and the passage of time. Greenery of all kinds grows on them, ranging from moss to flowers, small birds and critters frolic around the unmoving robots. One of the machines in particular sits a little farther away from the rest, though there is no difference in appearance from the rest, its chest is opened and a cable is directly connected to it. In a stroke of chance, multiple fist-sized rubble from the ceiling drop onto this particuclar machine, and soon enough light can be seen illuminating from its chest, and whirling sounds comes from within it. It's fingers start to twitch, the head begins to wobble a bit and the slit on it's head starts to glow back and forth. Slowly but surely, the machine begins to come back to life.

> "Ahem, ahem, hello hello. This is Professor Stanwick speaking. I am the creator of the All-Dimensional-Adventuring-Machine series, shortened to as A.D.A.M., which is the identity of all the machines you see here, including you of course.

> As for the situation at hand right now, to be truthful, our planet is in a rather tough spot right now. Resources are scarce and humanity are still fighting with each other over the little resources we have now. Sooner or later everything is just going to run dry and, well, humanity will die soon after. However, a brilliant co-worker of mine, Professor Minamoto, has managed to built a interdimensional transporter and as the name implies, it's able to transport objects into another dimension! Unfortunately it's still in the prototype stage and sending in human test subjects to unknown locations is just plain ludicrous, especially since we already have a lack of manpower as it is now. Not to mention that we don't know if there is any side-effects of dimensional travel.
>
> That's where my A.D.A.M series come in. I built you and your numerous siblings specifically in order to travel to other dimensions and survey the new world. The A.D.A.M series are built to be able to survive the harshest of conditions, whether it be extreme temperatures, harsh weather, or even the passage of time, they will be operational no matter how battered. What makes the A.D.A.M series so special is that I equipped them with another of my brilliant inventions, the Omni-adaptable rechargeable battery, shortened to as O.R.B. What makes the O.R.B so special is that it is able to convert all types of energy into fuel for itself! Amazing!
>
> Anyways time is short, there's a manual installed into your system if you have more questions about yourself. I'll tell you the mission of A.D.A.M. now.
>
> Find a new hospitable world we can live in and explore the area so we can travel there safely when possible. That is all. Stanwick out.

With it's purpose known to it, the robot slowly stands up, creaks are heard from it's body, the birds and small critters flee from it because of it's sudden movements. Small rocks and branches fall off from its shoulders as it walks out of the room. It heads towards another room and the door blocking it's way opens at it's presence, revealing a large mechanical ring standing in the middle of the room. Next to it is a single computer, which the robot walks towards to. With some clicks on the keyboard, the screen on the computer flares to life, the words "Searching for location..." can be seen on it's screen. After a while, the words changes to "Valid location found...", and with that the ring begins to exude energy, with some sparks flying around.
And with that, the robot moves towards the ring, heading straight at the center. As it arrives at the ring, all the energy and sparks starts to converge into the it, light starts to envelop the robot, encasing it like a cocoon.
Soon after, the robot vanishes out of existence.

> "...And then draw a line here to complete the sigil."
And with that, my spell to create my very own golem is finished. People might be wondering why a defenseless girl such as myself is inside a dark, damp and just downright creepy cave by myself. Well, that's because I attend a prodigious magic academy, the Amaryllis Academy. They're known as one of the top schools to get into for all aspiring mages, and those who graduate from there are almost guaranteed to land a good job in the future.
Those that can actually graduate that is.
I'm known in the academy as a big magical failure. I can't cast anything meaningful for the life of me. Everytime I tried to use magic, my wand just blows up in my face, like a huge explosion to the face. I got accepted into the academy because the proctors in the academy said I have an abnormally high amounts of mana, not to mention me getting the top scores in the written exams. So far, I've only been barely able to scrape by because of me getting the top spot in all the written exams so far.
So here I am. Practicing magic. By myself. I really don't have any friends in the academy, since no one there wants to be friends with someone that can't produce any magic. I've been ostracized by the other students the moment I had set foot on the academy. But that's okay, the thoughts in my head keep can me company instead. I've grown to like have long monogues in my head when I have no one to talk to, like right now. This is not a sign of me growing crazy from loneliness or anything. The fact that I'm choosing to practice making golems is also not a sign that I want friends either. Nope.
> "Ok, that's enough monologuing for now. I've must have spent about 5 minutes just staring at this circle because of that. The next thing I have to do is have a drop of my blood enter the circle and my spell will be complete."
I unsheathed the sharp dagger I carried on my waist, and I gently prick my finger with it. I might have pushed it in a little deeper than I thought since a jolt of pain shocks my body, but I endure it. With tears forming in my eyes, I extend my hand to the center of my magic circle and let my blood drip into it. I got out of the circle after a couple of drops to wait for the golem to form from the earth, but after waiting a good minute or more I can tell I've failed when nothing happened.
> "Haaah, another failure. Am I doomed to be an incompetent dunce for the rest of my school life? Even though I drew a sigil to act as an intermediary, I still failed to create a golem. I've at least wanted one to make just one so I don't look to crazy when I'm talking to myself. Maybe if I--"
Suddenly a bright beam of light shot down from the heavens and landed on my circle. I had to cover my eyes for a bit because of how bright the light was, but when I opened my eyes I saw a tall person, no, not a person actually. What I saw was more of a mettalic being, the entirety of it's body is a smooth metal that seems to reflect all of it's surroundings. The limbs have the ball and socket joint exposed and the head doesn't seem to have a face at all, and just like the rest of it's body it seems to reflect my face from it as well. It looks like a metal version of one those poseable wooden dolls.
> "H-hey, are you the golem I created?" I asked it.
The golem(?) then stood upright to look down at me I think and I have to strain my neck a little just to stare at it's face, or it's head, whatever. Now that I think about it, it doesn't even have a mouth, so I don't think it can even respond back to me.
> "Question," came a weird voice.
That shook me a little as I didn't expect it to be able to talk, since it has no mouth and all, and it's voice sounded odd, like it was fake or something. I then nodded my head to it to signal that I'm listening to it, and then...
> "Are you a local here?" it asked me.
Instead of making a golem, I think I might just made first contact instead...
