CHAPTER 1
Kyushu, Japan 2007
Kyushu, once a prospering place of the land of the rising sun. with the appearance of Leviathan the second Endbringer in 1999 it all changed. Almost all of the island was sunk and millions of people died that day. I was but a mere kid of 11 years when it appeared.
the beast came and destroyed everything I knew. I was one of the 'fortunate' ones to survive that day, but to this day I ask why, why did I have to be the only one to survive why did it not take me with my family.
"Daisuke?...oi! Daisuke are you coming or not"
I turned around to see a blond girl calling me from the street and trying to throw some pebbles at me.
my home or rather my late grandpa's home was a two-story traditional Japanese house with simple wooden fences around the property. When Leviathan struck the island I was with Grandpa, my parents, and my older sister was on Kumamoto where our original house was. my grandpa took me in.
"yeah yeah coming, and why in the world are you throwing stones at me kid"
another rather big stone hit me right in the stomach. say what you will the girl has aim.
"how many times do I have to tell you I am not a kid. I am 16, only two years smaller than you"
Lily's hair is like you literally put flakes of gold in actual hair to make it look more golden than it has any right to be. along with white skin and a long face, you can almost not tell that Lily has a Japanese parent at all. Lily's mother is Japanese and her father was British. her father didn't make it when the island sank. we met a couple of years ago when I was figh......er talking ....uh rather heatedly with some gangstars. you see years ago I triggered as a parahuman. I will not talk about the cause of my trigger as it is not of any importance, not anymore. my power is that I can use any weapon, be it one or multiple to its utmost efficiency. if you give me a couple of guns and grenades I will be able to fight like someone straight out of those aleph movies. even if you give me a stick I can fight like the most badass martial artist in the world....well a stick might not help me with brutes maybe but my power is not so bad with other types of capes.
I didn't really have any guns or anything like that in my starting days so I used simple wooden staffs. well turns out that one of the gang members I....uh inadvertantly came in contact with was a new cape who was not wearing a mask, and as my luck allows it he was a brute, and not a weak one either. suffice it to say that it didn't go well for me. I was fucked for sure but then suddenly the ground came apart and horrible monstrous plants with eyes on them grew through the cracks and for a lack of a better word ensnared them. and yes this was the work of one 14-year-old Lilly Davies my blonde and I will never say this in front of her but cute friend.
"well I am still older so call me Senpai"
"fucker come out here, I will beat the shit out of you"
"alright alright I am coming"
were supposed to go and watch a new Earth Aleph movie that came out recently. I was tying my shoes when it happened, the alarms, the dreaded endbringer alarms started ringing throughout the city. but how, behemoth only attacked Kyiv a week ago, they are not supposed to attack this quickly.
the front door burst open and a wide-eyed lily came in
".....what do we do"
I didn't answer and ran for the TV Lily following behind me
"....w endbringer has been spotted flying across the Pacific. we do not know what the endbringer looks like because it is covered in dark clouds and a massive thunderstorm is being created around it for almost 10 miles radius. currently, it is believed to be heading towards the destroyed Kyushu islands. all ci-"
no no it can't be, they don't come to the same place twice. it's not possible its not possible its n-

"clam down? CALM DOWN? lily its coming right here to finish the job Leviathan started how can you tell me to calm down"
"DON'T YELL AT ME. do you think I don't know that? do you think you're the only one who lost your parents to that monster?"
lily was breathing heavily at this moment
".... Daisuke..you can stay here, but I am going .... it's coming for my home and I am not staying still. I will fight, I will fight"
I took her arm quickly
".... I am coming with you"
"....then suit up, we have a kaiju to fight."

When Leviathan sunk the island oita was the only big city remaining. when news of the newest endbringer came capes from all over the world gathered in an impromptu command center in the city. I can see the famous suit of dragon and the American triumvirate already gathered here among many other foreign capes. japan doesn't have a system to put together capes around the world so we accepted the American's help in organizing Endbringer battles. me and Lily hurriedly took a seat when Dragon started briefing us.
"an hour ago my satellites picked up a sudden thunderstorm in the middle of the ocean. it wouldn't normally trigger my systems but throughout the thunderstorms massive wings or at least the tip of them can be seen sometimes. thinkers around the world have confirmed that it is very likely a new endbringer. while it is not known why the new endbringer decided to attack so early or what its powers are, we however assume that it is likely to be weather manipulation of large areas. it is currently heading straight towards Kyushu at a steady pace, so we have more time to prepare."
after this legend, the blaster of the triumvirate took over the stage, but I wasn't listening anymore.
a flying endbringer with weather control powers. can I even do anything about it from the ground? neither of our powers is flight so we are going to have to just sit here and watch while the endbringer destroys everything around us. am i so pathetic that even after getting powers I am still unable to do anything to those monsters,... no I can do it, I have to do it.
dragon suddenly spoke up
"it's 30 minutes out from landfall"
strider the teleporter yelled
"Everyone get into position were going in a minute"
me and Lily took position with everyone and in a flash of light we arrived in a sea of fog. I can't even see a meter ahead of me.
"...the fog is interfering with my scanners everyone get ready " dragons voice flowed through the armbands she has given the defenders prior to debriefing
"Anyone who thinks they can take a hit go with Alexandria, blasters, and flyers with Legend and Eidolon, healers, and search and rescue set up your stuff hurry up "
Lily shook my hand
"This is it daisuke, this is what we were given powers for"
"......yeah"
but something was wrong, were waiting for almost an hour but it's still not here. what's happening? the defending capes are already fidgeting in nervousness
"Dragon talk to me, what's happening?" legend spoke up through the radio
"i-i dont know, the fog is spread around hundreds of miles, and it's still interfearing with my senso-"
suddenly the fog rolled out with a massive gust of wind and through the parting clouds, it came.
bigger than anything i have ever seen the white monster of calamity descended upon us. it was an unimaginably big dragon.
It landed and the ground broke apart. then the beast roared and the very world shook.
I couldn't help but stare at the dragon. I started laughing. we were going to fight that?
"....h-how ?..." Lily's voice stuttered.
