Chapter 7 Betrayal

Chapter 7 Betrayal

"Did you know? I borrowed the script from one of the director's assistants, Chedik. I'm not sure about anything else but Sean Harth. Yes, the same name as you, but he's not here. I'm sure his role is suitable for me. Keith chattered incessantly in Sean's ear as they rested.

Sean shook his head slightly. After a few weeks of contact with Keith, his opinion was slowly changing. Keith was too fanatical about becoming famous. He constantly thought about what role would make him famous in a single shot.

Sean really could not understand. Well, having a goal worth fighting for was a good thing. Keith also had some acting skills, but he would become ambitious if he couldn't see the direction clearly.

For example, survival was always the first priority. Can you imagine a person who can't even eat bread and still could ask the director for a role? Or put it another way, if a person can't even maintain his basic needs, what makes others believe that he can play a role well?

Of course, these words could not be said now. Sean was not the kind of person who liked to play with others' emotions. Moreover, he had just gotten a role in Keith's face. It was better not to provoke him.

In his two lives, Sean had a much higher level of skill in dealing with people than ordinary young people, so he only smiled and reminded, "Keith, it's a pity that they don't have Sean Harth's shot. But maybe Director Rodrigo will add more shots. By then, you can strive to be his substitute."

"That's good too. Maybe we can use this opportunity to catch the eyes of the director or producer." Keith signed while his eyes fixed on the trailer that only official actors could use.

Although there was no explicit rule, the difference between the status in the studio was still evident. The main actors had their own dedicated trailers for rest, and their meals were also in different areas. The extras and main actors hardly talk on set.

Sean knew who Keith was looking at. Although Keith said that he was qualified to be a supporting actor, he still desired the male lead the most. The male lead of this movie was a boy who was about his age. He had brown curly hair, was baby-faced, and had beautiful blue eyes. Sean always had a little impression of him.

However, most of Sean's attention was on the heroine. Her dark, long and straight hair made her look frank. Her wheat-colored skin was quite healthy. Her face was square, and her facial features were strong. She was somewhat masculine. Her eyebrows were especially special, thick and black but also gave out a different kind of attraction. Other than those, her figure was also quite good, probably from her Lanian heritage. She was very well-proportioned and very hot when wearing jeans.

"Don't tell me you want to flirt with her, Sean?" After noticing this, Keith teased.

"Since when is it illegal to admire beauties?" Sean shrugged.

"Come on, buddy. She is an official actor and has already played some roles. We are two different kinds of people. Not to mention flirting with her, it is not easy to hit on her." Keith shook his head and said. For some reason, there was a hint of imperceptible ridicule in his tone.

"That might not be the case." Sean did not hear it. Instead, he rubbed his chin and smiled slyly. Then, he took a bottle of water and walked toward the male lead, who was leaning against the prop box in a daze.

Keith opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he did not say anything.

"Oh, I'm really sorry." After pretending that he had accidentally bumped into the male lead and hit his water on the ground, Sean picked it up with a very apologetic look and handed it back to him.

"It's fine," The other party said and smiled, very modest.

Sean felt relieved and immediately said, "I hope I didn't dirty your water."

"Don't worry about it. I don't like this brand of water anyway." The other party had a good temper.

"That's true. The taste isn't very good. I prefer the brand Snow." Following this topic, Sean quickly got into a conversation with the male lead, whom he found familiar.

"Actually, it's not difficult. When I was in high school, I was often bullied. In fact, as long as you are strong enough..." A few minutes later, the two became familiar with each other, "By the way, my name is Elias, Elias Wood."

"Sean, Sean Thomas." Sean introduced himself and secretly glanced to the side.

Then, a passionate voice sounded. "Elias, do you see my hairpin? I put it on the chair during the previous shoot."

Then, the lively young girl walked to the two of them and smiled at them. Her smile was very charming.

Elias Wood rolled his eyes. "No, Jordana, I didn't see anything. You should really pay attention to yourself. It's not a good habit to put things around as you wish."

"Don't speak in such a tone. Elias, if your observation skills could be improved a little, maybe we can end the reshoot today," Jordana immediately retorted, but there was a mischievous smile on her face. It was obvious that she was teasing him. From this point, it could be said that they were not lovers.

When she noticed Sean, she immediately greeted him, "I am Jordana, Jordana Bruce."

The Lanian girl looked at him with a smile, without the slightest sense of rejection. She was young, and this was said to be her first movie. In fact, the main actors of the whole movie were newcomers, so naturally, they were not arrogant.

When Sean noticed this, he only had the courage to come over and strike up a conversation. If the other party were a famous actor, he would have to change the method.

"Sean, Sean Thomas, a extra. One of the players you are leading to chase Wood, who the aliens were controlling." Sean introduced himself and then added in a serious tone, "In fact, with just an order from you, I can catch him immediately."

Jordana could not help but burst out laughing. "You are really interesting, Thomas."

"You can call me Sean, and I'm dead serious." Sean laughed and spread out his hands.

"Even if you might be chased out by the director?" Wood grinned from the side.

"Of course," Sean said righteously, and Jordana couldn't help but laugh even harder.

"How long have you been a extra, Sean?" She asked curiously.

"It's just been two weeks. I need time to plan on how to drive around North Antasey first, so I found a relatively relaxed and free job." Sean explained.

"Drive through North Antasey?" The two people were surprised.

"Yes, this is what I always wanted to do, so I came to Las Angelos from Sun Franlisco not long after graduation. Isn't it good to do something I want while I'm young and full of energy and curiosity?" Sean smiled and raised his hands, looking very bright.

"Wow, it's not an easy thing to do," Jordana praised while Wood nodded.

"It is indeed not easy, but I don't want to regret it in the future." Sean's expression was serious. He easily grasped the rhythm of the conversation. Then, he chatted happily with Jordana and Wood for a long time.

"How is it?" Sean, who had finally returned, asked Keith with some pride.

"You really are amazing, buddy." Although Keith tried his best to hide it, the jealousy in his tone was still very obvious. "Maybe you can invite her to have a drink tonight."

"There will be a chance." Sean patted him on the shoulder and laughed, "I got her phone number."

"Really?" Keith could not help but widen his eyes.

"I don't need to lie to you, do I?" Sean spread out his hands.

"You're amazing, buddy," Keith said again. He was much calmer than before, as if he had already made up his mind.

Unfortunately, Sean, who was immersed in getting Jordana's phone number, did not notice, so he paid the price.

"I'm sorry, Sean. It's impossible. We started work a long time ago." The director waved his hand and strode towards the set that was being set up in the studio. "We don't need late actors."

"Please listen to my explanation, sir. Please listen to my explanation." Sean, who was already sweating, hurriedly caught up.

"There's nothing to explain, Sean. You are late. We found someone to replace you. It's that simple." The director didn't listen at all and said, "The crew won't postpone filming for a single person. Our plans are all full."

"But..." Sean, who was nervous, did not know what to say for a moment.

"In addition." The director glanced at his messy hair and continued, "You don't have to come again. The finance department will settle the accounts with you."

"Why... Why?" Sean widened his eyes in shock.

"The police went to your place this morning, right?" The director said as he turned around. "They're here too."

"But... But they only asked a few questions. About... A club two streets away, where someone took drugs. They thought I was there, but I was not," Sean hurriedly said.

"Perhaps." The director remained indifferent and continued, "But you have to know, Sean. We are filming a family comedy, and it's broadcasted in DEF. The viewership ratings are not too bad. So, we do not allow any scandals, even if it is a possible scandal. The assistant reminded you guys about it."

Sean made a few meaningless gestures as if he still wanted to explain, but he was speechless.

"Alright, that's it. Go settle the accounts with the finance department. Sean, don't let me call the security." The director said as he entered the set, leaving Sean standing alone outside.

He covered his forehead and groaned. He never expected that things would turn out like this in just one night. He was actually drunk. Damn it. He was actually drunk! How could this be?

A suffocating feeling spread from his chest. Sean clenched his fists but did not know where to wave them. He just wanted to shout on the spot. Then, as the assistant called for him to prepare, he saw a familiar figure walk in with the crowd. The person was wearing the waiter's attire. It was... Keith! Keith Vincent!

A shocked expression appeared on Sean's face. The scenes from last night flashed through his mind like lightning. He suddenly understood what was going on. At this time, Keith also noticed Sean. He turned his head almost immediately as if he did not see it. Moreover, his neck was slightly hunched, like he was very guilty.

Sean was instantly enraged. He had never expected this to happen because he treated Keith as a friend. Although they were not very close friends, they were no strangers. However, he had done such a thing!
