Playing league after a hard work really calms me but I guess not, I got even more frustrated having salty and noob teammates.

"Fuck this, sir I'm out"

I said that to the clerk of the shop and paid my time.

Walking out of the shop what came into the view of my eyes is Shadows, want to know what shadows are well I also don't know what they are, I just called them that.

They appeared 2 years ago out of nowhere; regular humans don't see them and just carrying on with their lives while the shadows wreak havoc everywhere.

And also 2 years ago the world was split into two the shadow world and the real world but that’s just my own judgment from what I've observed these past 2 years.

I've also observed that the shadows only exist in the shadow world. Your probably thinking that how would the shadow attack the people while in the shadow world.

Even I with this low IQ of mine get confused.

First of all the shadow world and the real world exist at the same time.

Example:

The view in real world is normal with a few buildings here and there.

While the shadow world has a red sky with dark clouds and the buildings are in ruins, there is also an eerie big red moon that shines in the sky probably a counterpart of the sun and the moon cause in the shadow world there's no day nor night in there.

Okay now let’s go back to the shadows. Shadows have a diverse species from insects to a car, any other appliances, and animals. They have a dark color with redlines all throughout their bodies I'll let it out to your imaginations.

Now back to how shadows attack humans well then here's how it goes as I said the shadow world and the real world exists at the same time.

Example:

The car shadow is right in front of a normal person walking he/she won't see it and pass through like nothing happen but that’s how it looks like to normal humans.

Now this is how it would look in my view a human being brutally devoured by a car shadow in a very gruesome way where organs and limbs flew everywhere, imagine the movie C*rs ex. M*q*een devouring a human okay I just ruined the movie.

The person in questioned who was eaten by the shadow will not feel anything in the view of a norm. Person but in my view he/she is screaming for help. That person’s existence will vanish after a day after being devoured by the shadow.

Long story short, a person devoured by a shadow will vanish like nothing happened, anyone except me or maybe there are others like me who will remember that person.

But don't be alarmed Shadow's as big as an elephant is not that many but when there is one mass human butchering happens. Shadow's that appears normally are like little spiders sized of a hand latches on a person and sucks their existence I don't want to call it soul for various reasons.

Well there is still many things I don’t know about such as why they exist and what are they really are, even in this 2 years all I'm doing is fighting them near the place where I live protecting humans near me. Your thinking why I'm not protecting other people that's far away, I'll give you the reason then

1) I don’t know how this happened.

2) Even if I tell this to the police they won't believe. (I tried)

3) The person will vanish in existence. (From 2nd reason they vanish in existent so there's no evidence picture's and etc. all gone)

4) Why should I even save them in the 1st place I don't get anything in return, saving those near me is already enough. I'm not some superhero from a manga or comics I'm also just a normal human who ended up seeing this things and had a very terrifying experience with them.

Well there are still many questions but now let's talk about me. On how I ended up this way and how I fight shadows it all happened 2 years and 2 months ago.

My name is Vel just a normal college student who stopped and now taking care of my little brother.

It was just a normal day when I was waiting for my little brother at the school gate when suddenly the sky turned red, I was shocked and got panicked but the people beside me is still walking normally, I closed my eyes and open it but I can still see a mixed of red and white like illusions and saw a broken building I can't explained it in words these might be how those people in drugs see, I don't even use it. I managed to calm down a little and asked the people around me.

"Uhmm… M-miss is th-the sky red?"

"Nope its fine, are you drugged or maybe in alcohol you don't look good"

Seriously do I look like a drug addict well maybe right now I am well at least I didn't wet my pants…

Yet.

I didn't mind it anymore maybe it's just because of the heat and waited for my brother.

A few minutes passed by and I saw my brother running towards me. This is the moment I won’t forget for the rest of my life.

As my brother was running to me a black lion like creature appeared out of nowhere and started devouring the children’s coming out of the gate.

I shouted with all my might i feel like a person being hysterical, people are just looking at me like I'm some kind of idiot.

The guards came to me.

"Hey are you oka-"

Before he even finish a dashed to the gate but I slipped why of all time why must I slip.

I slipped and looked in front of me. I see the lion eating my brother and looking at my direction like mocking me, children’s were screaming while being eaten along with my brother blood everywhere.

After that I lost consciousness.

I woke up in a hospital room it was evening. I saw my mother and my little brother in the room; I thought I was just imagining all the stuff that happened.

"Are you okay now Vel, the nurse said you got heatstroke?" 

Heatstroke that must be it but then my vision suddenly got blurry I'm looking at my mother and brother but suddenly my brother vanished in my sight.

"Mom where is brother?"

"Brother? You have a brother? From your father's side? What are you talking about?"

"You know my little brother who goes to the school near us and the son of that man"

"Who are you talking about your my only son? Maybe you're still tired I'll go now its past 3a.m. already I still have work you better take care of yourself and drink a lot of water"

My mom left and I started crying. What the hell just happened what was going on my mind was in a mess. After that I fell asleep again.

The next day I was discharge and got home I talked to my mother about what happened and explained it but in the end she didn't believed me. 

I even reported it to the police but in the end I was detained and was taken to the hospital again for drug test and the result was negative so I was discharge.

Many things happened after a month and calmed down, maybe that was all just an illusion having a brother but then again it happened again but now is much worse. When I was about to go out of my house the world was different unlike what happened a month ago this is much clearer red sky, dark clouds, broken establishments and a big eerie red moon above. 

"What's happening why why…?”

I turned pathetic again. I ran everywhere but I can't see anyone even in stores I can't see anyone just broken buildings.

*boom*(sfx)

I heard a loud sound and looked at its direction and saw it again. The black lion with red lines in its body standing above the roof looking down at me like I'm its prey.

I started running and running like there's no tomorrow when suddenly I was knocked at my back and started rolling forward to a wall. The lion just hit me at the back, maybe this will be it.

"In the end I died doing nothing, even in college I'm a failure, I failed to protect my little brother maybe this is much better to lose my existence"

I started talking to myself; the lion was just slowly walking to me.

"Can you make it faster?"

The lion was now in front of me looking at my eyes.

"What are you looking at I'm just a pathetic human who's tired of anything everything I blame others for me being lazy and unmotivated but in the end it was me who's at fault"

I continued talking about my life and how pathetic I really am I don't know if the lion is listening and it's just looking at me.

Finally the lion opens its mouth.

"You even let me finish talking how thoughtful of you. I should thank you but I changed my mind I won't let you eat me anymore"

You know the thing about confessing all your sins to a priest make your heart feel at ease like all the things that you've done was forgiven.

That's how I feel right now maybe that's what was I just needed all along to vent out everything.

The lion was about to swallow me when I rolled on the side, power that I can't explain is now coursing through my body it's like a cliché story where the protagonist gains power when near death but me I'm just a pathetic loser who don't have anything well some protagonist are pathetic at the start anyway. Let’s forget about this and continue.

I dodged the lion and kicked at its side, the lion was knocked back a few centimeters yup you’re not misreading this centimeters.

1) I’m not someone who knows some kungfu stuff

2) Gaining power and not knowing the result is my fault in anime and movies when protagonist gains power it should be OP right.

"I'm sorry but I forgot something"

And I started running away at the opposite direction. Having power or not I'm still pathetic.

Unlike earlier I can now run faster but the lion is much faster I just barely managed to dodge here and there. I keep running till I hear sound of a car, without me realizing it I was back to the real world, good thing I managed to stop before I got hit.

"Hey are you going to suicide, do it elsewhere not here"

Yup I'm back to the real world alright.

After those events I got back home and analyzed what happened and so I got into the conclusion that the world is f***ed up,

I also learned that if I wanted to I can go to the other world now I'm calling it shadow world.

And these past few months I didn't encounter the lion again even when I was in the shadow world, I also learned that the time in both world flows at the same time and when distortion happens both worlds fuses that's when Shadows can attack humans or attach themselves to them, in the past few months I saw them little dark spiders sized of a hand or a watermelon depending on the existence they've eaten I even saw one looking like a helmet in a person's head of course I already killed it , when alone they are easy to kill but when in a swarm just run.

This is all that I've discovered

1) you can't go back to the real world when there's a high density of miasma or when you got infected by it (the reason why I was able to get out back then is because of the power that I've awakened but that's just my own conclusion because when I'm attacked by those little spiders I can't go back easily I still don't know many things about them anyway)

2) Shadows (that's what I named them for my convenience) that's larger than human are rare to be seen.

3) In the shadow world there are structure that's different when looked in real world I didn't entered them because I'm sure that's its dangerous

4) Defeating a shadow gives you some kind of exp. Like in games when you defeat an enemy they make you stronger but grinding the same shadows again and again like the little spiders don’t give anymore exp.

And so I make myself stronger fighting and fighting around my area, I didn't see the lion again but I knew that I'm still nowhere near its strength so I have to make myself stronger to avenge my brother that's my goal for now kill that lion.

I also trained my body 100 push-ups, sit ups, squats, and also jogging good thing I didn't go bald.

And now back to the current time now me after playing league.

I got out of the shop and entered the shadow world imagine me opening the door and then now in the shadow world I'm pretty cool now huh… Guess not.

Well now in front of me is a massive stampede of chicken on the road. I suddenly felt going back but if I let these guys go who knows what might happen so let’s clean it up.

I picked up the knife in my pocket also known as a pocket knife. Idiotic isn't it 2 years passed by and a pocket knife is my weapon, don't underestimate it I can pour mana (what I call the power in me) in it and turn it into an energy blade.

I poured mana unto my knife now I look like j*hnny from sh*dow h*arts.

I slashed the shadow chickens one by one till nothing is left. I also forgot to tell when shadows are killed they vanish to thin air so no problem it won't become gory unlike when shadow kill humans.

*sigh*

"Now that's the last of em"

"COOCKA! COOCKA!"

Shit I spoke to early, I already said that giant shadows don’t show up often but right now there's a giant chicken a size of a giraffe.

"What the hell can this day get anymore worse?"

I started running to a place with lower miasma good thing that chicken's also a birdbrain and I managed to escape.

I suddenly remembered that game where if you attack a chicken many times a flock of chickens will destroy you, it’s a warning for animal cruelty but on my end it's a warning of don't fuck with chicken anymore.

"I’m gonna eat chicken for dinner tonight"

And that's what my daily life is now, I'm still not strong enough but someday I'll become stronger for my little brother and also the people close to me so I won't lose anymore and also to change myself.
