When Mika reached Akira, she immediately examined her body and noticed that the wound in her stomach was getting worse and worse.
‘What should I do? How can I help her right here and now?’
She racked her brain, trying to come up with any solutions that could help the poor girl, but other than disinfecting the wound and bandaging it up, she didn’t know what to do.
Mika also didn’t have the time to take care of her because the voidlings were running rampant in the castle, and it was only a matter of time before they locked onto her.
‘System, is there anything I can do to help her?’ Mika decided to turn to the only thing that might be able to help.
[Yes, survive the invasion and use the Mana Stones to buy a Healing Serum.]
‘That… isn’t helpful at all! How long will she have to wait until the invasion is over? An hour? Maybe two? She needs help now!’ Mika yelled in her mind but got no response from the System.
Snorting in annoyance, she stopped thinking about the System.
Doing the only thing she could think of doing, she squatted near the girl’s face, gently rubbed the back of her head, and whispered in her ear, “I promise I’ll save you. Just hold on for a little longer. I know it hurts, but please bear with the pain for a little longer. You can do it. No… you must do it! ”
Mika patted Akira’s head before she got up and focused on her surroundings.
However, she failed to notice the strained yet large smile that had bloomed on Akira’s face as tears rolled down her cheeks.
‘I will! I’ll fight to survive! Please don’t let me die, Mika! Please! I don’t want to die just yet! I want to make more friends and talk to more people. Sniff… Please… Please help me…’ Akira cried and begged in her mind, but the pain of having her stomach torn open left her consciousness drifting.
Mika readied her sword and looked around her vigilantly but quickly frowned when she noticed that Olivia was still rooted in her position.
To make matters worse, Mika noticed a voidling charging in her direction. So, without thinking too much, she rushed over to Olivia’s side.
‘Let’s go, System! I’m gonna kill as many of these bastards as possible! Cloak me!’ She yelled inwardly but had one more request before she did, ‘Oh, but can you not cast the illusion on Oliva? I’d like her to know it’s me that’s trying to protect her rather than some random dude.’ Mika asked.
[Affirmative. Activating cloaking and illusions around the Host.]
Mika didn’t feel any different, but that didn’t matter right now. She trusted the System would do its job properly, and even if it didn’t, that was of little consequence to Mika.
All she cared about was protecting her Sister by any means necessary.
“Wake up, Olivia! We got enemies incoming!” Mika shouted while on the move, trying to wake Olivia up out of her daze.
Hearing Mika’s voice, Olivia snapped out of her dazed state and looked around her but screamed when she saw one of those pitch-black monsters charging straight for her.
“AAHHHHHH!!”
She took a few steps back but accidentally tripped on a loose piece of rubble and fell on her butt.

Her eyes widened in fear, and her blood ran cold as the reaper of death slowly wrapped its hands around her neck, waiting for the oncoming voidling to finish the job.
However, luckily for her, she had a surprisingly strong little sister who had already experienced what life was like on the battlefield and could react properly in these kinds of situations.
Olivia, who was frozen in fear once again, saw Mika running straight at the monster and unconsciously blurted out,
“MIKA ST-”
However, her next words got stuck in her throat when she saw the monster change targets and lunge at Mika with its arms extended. Involuntarily, she shut her eyes, not wanting to witness her little sister’s death right before her eyes.
But whether it was out of curiosity, fear, or newfound courage, a moment later, one of her eyelids raised, and her mouth gaped in shock at what she saw.
‘Wh-What?!’
Her little sister slid across the floor, thrusting her sword upwards into the monster’s skull with impeccable timing.
Olivia was awestruck by the scene in front of her and nearly forgot that monsters were rampaging all around her. She’s never seen something so badass before and couldn’t help but stare at this scene in amazement.
Mika stood up, cut off the monster’s head, and quickly returned to her Sister’s side. However, she frowned deeply when she saw Olivia dozing off in the midst of battle. Something snapped inside her mind seeing how pathetic and useless Olivia was, which made her revert back to her old self, back before she reincarnated.
As the brute that she was, Mika wasn’t very good with words or codling other people. She handled all her problems with her sword! But since she couldn’t slice up her sister, she did the only thing she knew how to do: punch her in the gut and start cursing.
*Bam!*
“Oof!”
“Get your head out of your ass and pay attention, Olivia!! Fuck! I’ve said it multiple times now, and I’m tired of saying it, so listen up! Pay attention to your surroundings!! Now, make yourself useful and assist me!” Mika cursed so loudly and fiercely that Olivia’s neck shrunk back, almost more frightened of her than the monsters.
“I need to kill as many of these bastards as possible so we can survive, but you’re so useless that I can’t even leave your side, fearing these monsters will chop you up!!” Mika began ruthlessly cursing at her Sister, who was even more gobsmacked by the words coming out of Mika’s mouth than by the situation going on around her.
However, Mika wasn’t done yet. She walked over a bit, picked up a piece of wood that broke off one of the tables, and pushed it into Olivia’s hands.
“There, now you have a shield. If you want to make yourself useful, get their attention. Start off by picking up some rubble and throwing them at them. You can even start screaming like a maniac! Better yet, try calling over some of the kids who are running for their lives. That should bring a few monsters over!”
Right as Mika said that, she spotted a few voidlings approaching her position, “Oh, look! It seems we already have a few takers! Hehe~” Mika didn’t say anything else and dragged Olivia over to where Akira had fallen.
This might be stupid, but she believed that Akira was safer near her, even if these monsters surrounded them.
“Wait! Mika, what the heck is going on?! Why do you want to fight these things?! Let’s just go find Mom and Dad!!” Olivia wanted nothing to do with these monsters and only wanted to see her parents as any kid would. She was already freaking out from all these events and didn’t think she could handle much more of this.
Unfortunately, Mika didn’t care about her feelings.
“Shut it, you idiot! More than likely, they are caught up by something else! All we can do now is survive! And what’s the best way for us to survive?” Mika questioned, but Olivia had no idea what the right answer might be.
So, Mika answered for her, “Obviously, it’s to kill as many of these fuckers as we possibly can!!”
“W-Why can’t we just run away? Wouldn’t it be-”
Before Olivia could continue, Mika interrupted, “Don’t give me that crap!! Just look around! These things can clearly sense our position! There is nowhere to run. The only thing we can do is fight!” Mika knocked on Olivia’s head again before she ran off to greet her new voidling opponent.

Olivia didn’t know just how true Mika’s statement was about their parents being embroiled in their own fights.
All the adults, even the King himself, had found themselves against a small army of voidlings, except these voidlings were clearly much different than the vast majority of the ones that came out of the rift.
Although they were still completely pitch black like the rest, these voidlings stood on two legs and had large muscular bodies.
