They started to go towards the church. This is the place he despised as an earthling in his previous life, a place for any religious gathering, not just a church. He was an outspoken atheist up until a few days before he was killed by God when he became a bit of an agnostic. So, he felt a bit excited to learn what this world has to offer in the name of theism.
Please let it be something good or even neutral. God's actually interacted with this world, unlike my old world. So, it should be alright. It shouldn't be too over the top. Right?
That's what he was thinking as they were advancing. He asked the question to divert his attention from the topic which obviously didn't work since he has the thinking capacity to maintain multiple trains of thoughts in parallel.
"What are these skills, anyway? Are There types with them, like how magic is split into five different types?"
He asked and the queen and her daughter realized once again he isn't accustomed to the world's common sense and needs to be informed what those things are. The queen stays silent and Aria starts to answer his question.
"Well, in a nutshell, skills are innate abilities that are separate from magic. I don't have holy magic but my skill, [Self-heal] can help me heal my own injuries. They are hard to acquire and a bit mysterious. Some people are born with them, while others learn them with time."
He was listening with great interest while staying silent and not breaking the flow of the conversation as the queen took over.
"There are different types of skills according to their power and versatility as well as acquisition conditions. The first and foremost is the magic skills|. These are the skills you can get by repeatedly using the same magic over and over again until you can invoke it without a chant. Once you get the skill associated with that magic you can invoke it as easily as breathing. My magic, the one I used on people we left behind, [Sleep] is a magic skill. That's why I do not need a chant to use it. Just imagination is enough."
He understood many things from that sentence. The magic can be invoked without a chant. That's what he took from that.
If you can get to the level of high proficiency, you get the skill. With my memory and imagination, I should be able to acquire them more easily than most people. Probably.
He thought as he listened. Aria had to say her piece here,
"I have a [Inferno] magic skill, which creates a massive firestorm. And I also have [Icy breath] which freezes most things in an instant. Among others."
She seems a powerful magician by those names. I can't be sure though. These things might just be pretty common.
He's thinking that as he listens. The church is getting closer with every step. The queen took over so they could finish before they reached the church.
"The other skills are separated into categories. Basic skills, Intermediate skills, Master skills, Saint skills, Devine skills and Genesis Skills. The farther you go, the stronger and more versatile the skills. Most skills other than basic skills are complex, as in they have sub-skills and sub-functions."
As soon as the queen said that Aria showed a little excitement and said,
"This is what we discovered from ancient books and scrolls discovered in dungeons and remains of ancient civilization. No one I've seen or heard about has Devine or Genesis skills. Sure would love to see someone who does. It's said you have to at least be a demi-god to have them. In the ancient documents."
So basically, Mortals can get to Master skills at max. Can't wait to see what class of skills I have.
As he thinks that, a large white building comes into view. It has a gigantic open front gate that is well-decorated with carvings of beautiful men and women in attractive attires. The curves of their bodies are accentuated, and they seem to be enjoying a feast and a conversation. That is just the main gate and outer wall. There is a significantly large garden inside the walls surrounding a temple. But it has that uncomfortable feeling of something that was built differently and then renovated to be something different from a distance and it just gets stronger for him as they go near it.
"Well, I got the gist of it. Anyway, is this the church place you guys were talking about?"
Both of them nodded their heads and they went inside the main gate. The walkway from the main gate to the entrance of the church was paved with stones. There was a large fountain in the way. The road went around it and they were greeted by a girl in a nun outfit at the entrance. They were asked what the purpose of their visit was. There are many reasons a person or people can visit the church, such as for appraisal, worship, treatment etc. Some might just go there to ask for life advice. All of this is done in different parts of the church, so the question was important. Though most people end up worshipping anyway. They stated the purpose for their visit and they were led in towards the back of the worshipping hall by another nun she called over.
The new nun had pale skin. With how pale her skin was, sunburns in the early morning were a real possibility, or so he thought as he followed her. She had white hair and pure black eyes. A well-defined face with small lips, nose and slightly droopy eyes. Physically she looked like a well-developed college girl. Though most of her hair was hidden by the headpiece of her nun outfit, Her ears with little pointy upper ends were clearly visible. The nun's outfit covered her body so not much skin was visible but it clearly showed off the curves of her body. She was a slender beauty with mass in all the right places. Not too much and not too little. Combined with her beautiful face and tended skin she was an extremely beautiful girl. When she looked at the royal duo, her eyes widened slightly with amazement and confusion, but nobody except him realized what had happened. They followed her to the back of the worship hall in complete silence. The way was very well decorated and well lit with what he assumed were magical lights since there were stones giving off light. After walking for a little while they entered a room that was equally well decorated, well lit and had many couches and tables. The nun who hadn't spoken a single word till now turned towards them and her sharp pointy canines between her beautifully arranged white teeth were visible for the first time as she spoke.

Is she a vampire?
He thought as he listened,
"This is the waiting room. Only people who the subject of the appraisal wants to go inside with them can go beyond this point Which most cases are family members. The rest are to wait in this room. Make yourselves comfortable."
She said this in a monotone voice with her exhaustion perceivable in her voice as the boy didn't have a single similarity with the royal duo, so she assumed they weren't family members. Hearing this, Aria who was excited until now looked sad. Like she lost her vigour. He noticed this as he said,
"You want to come with me?"
To which Aria nodded.
"I want to know how strong you are."
He thought for a few seconds and spoke,
"I don't mind and it'll be easier if you knew what I can do. Let's go. There might also be things I don't understand, so it'll be better if you who understand better come with me."
Aria looked like she came back to life and her saddened expression was replaced with a joyful one. The nun, on the other hand, was more confused than before and she addressed them,
"I might be completely wrong but you two look completely identical with the Queen Lady Teresa and her daughter Ms. Aria. Are you perhaps travelling incognito?"
The two looked visibly flustered as she came out and directly said this. But Akito on the other hand was unfazed. He looked at her and said,
"Not particularly incognito but I wouldn't want the attention so, I'd appreciate it if you keep it to yourself. It's anyways none of your business."
As he said that, she was convinced and relieved that her suspicion was wrong. But soon she said,
"If that is the case, I have something to tell you. Please follow me."
Saying this, she opened the large door and went in. They obediently followed her.
She closed the door behind them. They moved to the center of the room where there were a few stones lined up with complex patterns drawn on them. There were seven in total. The nun opened her mouth as they reached the inside.
"Your majesty, his majesty the king is in grave danger. I was called to the capital to look at him as he was bedridden more than a month ago. I think he is being fed poison on a daily basis but the prime minister forced me to say he is tormented by an unknown incurable disease."
The queen thanked her for the valuable information she provided and told her that they were on a journey to solve the same problem. The nun was relieved yet again but looked at Akito sceptically as he was the unknown man who was the key player in solving this problem. And she was particularly sceptical of the fact that he defeated a wyvern with brute force. But she refrained from saying it out loud. She said,
"It's my job to watch and make sure you do not destroy anything. I will be watching from the chair over there."
She pointed at the small couch by the door of the needlessly large room. He said,
"You don't believe the wyvern story, right? Why not stay here and see for yourself if I'm capable of that or not."
"You like flaunting your power so much that you'd let some you just met see your strengths and weaknesses?"
"Nope. I need you to stay quiet about what we just talked about. And, you'll do that out of fear if you know what I'm capable of. It's a threat, so don't tell anyone."
She got a little scared but nodded her head. He watched that and said,
"Good girl. I won't unnecessarily hurt you so you don't have to get that scared. Anyway, I've been thinking about something ever since I saw you. Can you introduce yourself?"
"Don't you think you should introduce yourself before you ask someone else to do that?"
"You are right. My apologies. I'm Akito. I came from another world and I am a human."
He added information as he was curious about her race.
"Thank you. I am Sarah and I'm a vampire. I've worked for the church ever since I was 10 years old."
He didn't miss the implication she unknowingly dropped about herself. He assumed from her wording that she wasn't a nun because she wanted to be one, but didn't pursue the matter.
"That clears it. Thank you. Now, let's get on with this."
He said and turned to the structure of valuable stones. There were seven in total. From right to left, they were in an arrangement of mana capacity, creation magic, manipulation magic, Annihilation magic, Holy magic, Demonic magic and Appraisal. He moved to the first one and asked,
"What do I do now?"
To which Aria answered,
"Just put your hand on the stone and it'll glow. The brighter it is the more mana you have."
He nodded his head and put his hand on the stone. As soon as he did, he felt something leaving his body and entering the stone but in a few seconds, the stone shattered into pieces. He had a confused expression on his face but the three ladies had astonished faces. They were even drawing back from him a little as he turned around and asked,
"You said it'll glow but this thing just shattered. What does this mean?'
Although he assumed it to be something like he read in books on earth that it couldn't contain his power and broke, he didn't voice it out. The nun answered his question with a fearful tone,
"It means you have more mana than it can contain. Are you perhaps a demon?"
He heard the new word he didn't expect and replied,
"I am pretty sure I'm not a demon. Though I'm not quite sure what a demon is in this world. Let's move on to the other stones. Same drill, right? Touch and glow?"
The trio nodded slightly as he moved to the next stone. He touched the creation stone and it glowed bright golden. He turned to them,
"Does this mean I have creation magic?"
The trio nodded as Aria spoke up.
"Yes. Since many people have affinities with more than one type of magic, I think you should check the other magics as well."
He nodded, turned and started touching rest four magic stones one by one. Each of them started glowing bright golden as soon as he touched them. After that, he turned and faced the trio whose faces were covered with even more astonishment than earlier and even more fear in their eyes.
"It looks like I can use all types of magic. All that's left is to learn how to do it. this is amazing."
Then the queen spoke in a scared and strained voice,
"It's more amazing than that. Nobody in recorded history has even had an affinity for all types of magic. Do you get how amazing that is? You are the only person in the world to ever have an affinity with all types of magic."
To that, he nonchalantly replied,
"Cool. I'm getting more excited to explore this magic thing now."
And turned around. Faced the last remaining stone and said,
"Let's find out what kind of skills I have. I'm also curious what title I have. Though if I'm right about how we get them then I'll have one that was my nickname in school."
He put his hand on the last remaining stone as soon as he finished that. A transparent screen-like magical window appeared in the air and what was written in there left him with a look of understanding and pride and the other three with relief and open mouths.
