There's a place that's not just a house but a home, where children who once felt alone and abandoned are now surrounded by warmth and love. It's a place where laughter echoes off the walls, and the sound of children playing fills the air. Welcome to the Beautiful Bouquets orphanage, a place where every child is given a chance to grow, learn, and thrive as independent picturesque flowers. Walking through the halls of this magical place, you can't help but feel a sense of hope and positivity. With compassionate caretakers and a nurturing environment, the children here have found a family with whom they can share their dreams and aspirations. Do you want to unfold a tale of three young orphans that frolic the walls of the orphanage?
This book opens as the orphans expel their warm enthusiasm into nature. At this time, the orphans could expand their minds outside after their lessons. Some children would play hide and seek or interact with one another. However, this group of imaginative friends had something more important to do.
"Alright people, this is the plan!" Josh exclaimed.
Two males and one female circled the outside wood bench. It was a faulty bench but was strong enough to hold the force when Josh slammed the bench with a paper. This wasn't any old blank white paper. The paper was painted with terrible writing outlining the entire orphanage. Josh was known as the leader of their small group. With his optimistic and motivational manner, he pushes the team to their desired goal. Mason was the goody, ignorant friend in the group. He eases the mood with his terrible jokes and nonchalant manner. Finally, Olivia, which her friends call her Ollie, is the intelligent female of the three. She informs the group of anything important and suggests the smartest plan to move forward. From the look of their faces, they utilize their free time to find a way to escape the orphanage.
Josh said, " With my Picasso-esk skills, this is the entire outline of the orphanage. Mason?"
"Got the keys!" Mason replied.
"How in the hell were you able to get the keys to the front door?!" Ollie asked. "Magic", Mason said as he waved his hands in front of her face. Ollie pushed him away and said, "I monitored their routine, and they clocked out at ten. Mother Sapphire looks over the girls and Mother Ruby looks over the boys".
"Mm, Mother Ruby", Mason said while he looked up at the sky.
"Fucking hell Mason, you're fifteen!" Ollie pleaded.
"Ok? Marriage pending", he explained.
Ollie rolled her eyes and continued, "After they're done, Mother Ruby goes to lock the back door while Mother Sapphire locks the front door".
"Nice work!" Josh said. "We need to take the cleaning shift. Ollie noted that they are the last to go to bed. We should take a long time until ten o'clock. When they are checking if the other orphans are in bed, we make a run for the front door and leave". Josh turned to the paper for a better help explaining his plan. "Here is the kitchen. It is the furthest spot from the bedrooms that has chores we can do. We take the task of washing dishes and wait". Josh pointed to where the kitchen was and dragged his hand until it landed at the front door.
He said, "We move until we make it to the front door. As you can see, we have to pass their office on the way, so we must be quiet and then that's our ticket out of here".
Mason pointed out, "Nice! Let's hope this one works this time!".
Josh folded the paper and put it in his pants pocket. "Look Mason, trust me this is going to work this time! Our other plans were failures, but this one has the best options!". He got up and extended his hand. With his fist clenched, he shouted, "Freedom!". Ollie got up and connected her fist with his. "Freedom!" She shouted. They turned their head to Mason as he was gazing awkwardly at the sky.
Both shouted, "Mason", which frightened him. He clenched his fist and met with theirs while shouting, "Freedom!". This was the signature agreement they always made when they plot a plan to escape the orphanage.
Josh, Ollie, and Mason began to walk back inside the orphanage because free time was almost over. Josh's exhilarated body pushed him in front of Ollie and Mason. He faced them while he was backwards while saying, "Imagine the life we'll have once we are out of this place! No more awful food, no chores, no more being told what to do and most of all no more...". Josh was cut off when he heard Ollie shouting his name. Unaware of his surroundings, Josh had bumped into one of the most notorious bullies in the orphanage. Josh turned around and sighed, "Calvin".
Calvin slowly turned around to face Josh's exhausted face. "You got to watch where you're going pal", Calvin said.
"Pardon me your majesty, I was just on my way to your palace to mop the floors", Josh sarcastically said. When Josh was about to leave, he noticed someone on the ground. He was covered in blood with multiple bruises on his face. Looking at the defenseless boy angered Josh. Josh turned back around to Calvin and said, "You know what your majesty, you're a piece of shit".
"Excuse me", Calvin said.
Ollie pulled Josh back before the situation got worse, but Josh pushed her hand away. "You're the reason why this orphanage is shit! You've always been the problem!".
"Look around Josh! You are the only one causing a problem here!".
"No, I am the one who plans to fix the problem".
Calvin stood tall in front of Josh and told him, "Watch that prickly tongue of yours Josh. Wouldn't want to rip it out of your throat!".
"Aw, that'll be a shame. Cause I won't be able to shit talk you again!".
Calvin rage burst out and charged his hand for a punch. With one swing, he struck Josh's cheek which forced Josh to spit out blood from his mouth. Mother Sapphire rushed over to the scene to dismiss the brawl. Mother Sapphire shouted, "Josh! Calvin! I've said those names a lot, haven't I? For that, you'll be staying in The Capsule for the entire day!".
A gasp filled the air as she said, "The Capsule". The Capsule was known as the worst place in the orphanage because it is an empty room with only one door and one chair in the middle. Just your thoughts colliding with the endless white dingy walls surrounding you.
While on their way Calvin whispered to Josh, "Hey shitbag, thanks for this".
Josh sarcastically said back, "No problem, Calvin! Glad to help".
Ollie and Mason looked at each other and sighed in frustration.
Mother Sapphire locked both Josh and Calvin inside of The Capsule. Josh looked around in curiosity while Calvin sat down on the only chair in the room. Josh pointed out, "You know, this is supposed to be an orphanage, right? Why do they have this room?".
"For shitbags who can't shut their mouth", Calvin muttered.
"Well, this seems like normal scenery for you", Josh said. Josh looked at Calvin and noticed his head was down. "Want to talk, Calvin?", he asked.
"You had an entire novel to say earlier, what could you possibly want now?!".
"I mean I would add fuck you, you're a shit head, and you’re a dumbass!". Calvin got frustrated and quickly stood up to face Josh. Both their faces met with their breath gliding on each other's faces. Josh could see the rage in Calvin's eye.
"Why do you bully people?", Josh asked. Calvin sighed and sat back down. Josh said as he slowly crept towards Calvin, "You have no idea, do you? You have no idea why you enjoy the satisfaction of bullying a younger individual who shares the same life as you?".
"What's it to you?".
"What's it to me? Hmm, I'm just curious because he is just a child. A young child who waits every single day for someone, anyone, to want him or let him hear the three fucking words! I love you”.
“Really Josh?!” Calvin shouted. “You wanna compare lives? Is his own fucking father punches the ever-loving shit out of his face until it was unrecognizable? Huh, Josh?”.
Josh was too stunned to speak.
“You don't get me Josh and you never will. Now shut the fuck up or I'll shove this chair up your ass!".
"So, you decided to do the same thing as your father did? Release your anger to others?", Josh asked. "Think about that Calvin. You are your father, and that boy is you".
"I am not like my father!".
"Look Calvin. Everyone has a reason that they're stuck in this place, but you can't drag along that reason with you. You create a new chapter for yourself. Stop trying to escape your anger by inflicting it on someone else".
Calvin demonstrated a set of gestures in which Josh understood that he was going to shove the chair up his behind. Suddenly, a thought struck Josh. He just remembered about the plan to escape the orphanage.
He said angrily, "Aw shit! The plan I forgot!".
"What plan? Not your plan to escape the orphanage? Haven't those failed attempts taught you nothing?", Calvin asked.
Josh chuckled, "This is the last plan and the right plan to escape!". Josh then thought of an idea. He tried to say to Calvin, "Hey Calvin!", but Calvin immediately dismissed his response with a simple, "No".
"Look Calvin, this orphanage doesn't like us. Hell, everyone hates your guts. Why don't you join us in escaping the orphanage!".
"Uh, no thank you man. This place is the perfect place for us right now!".
"Perfect? This is the worst place to be at. Crappy food, terrible rooms, and those screams at night".
Calvin asked, "You've heard them too?".
"Those blood curdling screams? Who the hell wouldn't hear it".
Calvin was hesitant but shook off his response. "Ugh, just leave me alone and shut up. There's nothing wrong with this place", he said as he turned his body from Josh.
Josh laughed and said, "Why do I even try to help fuckers like you".
"Wanna say that again in my good ear?".
"Maybe knocking yo ass would fix your hearing!".
During their heated argument, Ollie and Mason were trying to think of a strategic plan to free Josh and escape. "What's the plan!", Ollie said with determination, but Mason replied, "I don't know".
Ollie determination diminished. "How the fuck are we going to escape without Josh. The one who made the entire plan to escape", Ollie said. Mason sat down on the classroom chair and said, "Plan after fucking plan, alright I have an idea". Mason's plan was quite simple. Mason would get the key for the Capsule and unlock the door for Josh while Ollie would be looking out.
"Why am I the lookout?!", Ollie asked.
"Cause I know where the keys are. Plus, you're a girl. Everyone listens to you", Mason replied.
Ollie shockingly said, "Excuse me?".
Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.
Ollie and Mason went along with the plan. They saw Mother Sapphire sprint out of her office in a hurry. When the coast was clear, Mason went inside of the room and looked for the keys. Ollie awkwardly stood outside with her arms crossed. Mason recalled the same draw that he got the front keys from, however something caught his eye. It was an abnormal book tinted in a brown hue with a hole in the middle of the book. Curious, Mason tried to open the book, but it couldn't open.
While he struggled to open the book, Ollie noticed a shadow around the corner. As the shadow grew larger, Ollie started to get nervous. The moment dropped when it was an orphan she knew a while back.
"Hey! What are you doing? That's Mother's private office!", the orphan said.
"Adam! What a surprise. Why don't you peek your nose in something else", said Ollie.
"If Mother Sapphire sees you, she'll dump you in the capsule!".
"Like how I dumped your ass last night?"
Adam was flabbergasted at her response. "Come on Olivia, you know you wanted me".
"Oh please, we're fifteen years old. Fuck off".
"Olivia".
"I told you; I do not feel comfortable with people around me, so please leave me alone!".
Adam was angry and stormed away. Ollie pleaded to Mason to hurry up and grab the keys, which he did, but he also grabbed the mysterious book he found on the desk. Walking over to the door, he noticed a clang sound coming from a bookshelf inside of the office. Even though curiosity killed the cat, he slowly walked towards the bookshelf to get a better hearing of the sound.
"CLANK, CLANK!", Mason heard.
"What the taking you so long?". Ollie busted in the front door of the office to see what was taking Mason so long. She saw him edging his head towards the bookshelf awkwardly.
"Is the wall telling you where the key is?", she sarcastically asked. Her entire expression shifted to terror when Mason said, "I think someone is behind here".
Ollie was stunned. Mason told her how he heard someone clanging metal consistently. Ollie preached to Mason that they only came for the keys.
"Mason, we only came here for the key......and a book?". Ollie noticed the book under Mason's arm.
Mason replied, "Yeah, looked cool and might be something I'm into reading".
"You and reading?", she chuckled while Mason rolled his eyes.
Mother Sapphire's voice echoed through the speaker, "Because of one of you sneaky snakes wanting to steal something of mind, all kids are to ask to meet at once!". Mason and Ollie instantly noticed that she knew the key to the front door was missing. They knew they needed to get out quickly, but the same voice yelled out to them.
"Help.......me...."
Instead of noises, they heard someone softly plead for help from beyond the bookshelf. Mason dropped the book and used his strength to move the bookshelf. Finally, Mason moved the bookshelf to reveal a rusty metal door. The door was strong with silver shielding its exterior. The door had no doorknob so they both used their bodies to push the door. The door was persistent, but they eventually opened the door, and they were disgusted. The sharp stench sliced through their nostrils forcing them to cover their noses. The smell was awful like a pile of bodies decomposed at once. They were hesitant to walk inside but they needed to help whoever was inside.
"What about Mother Sapphire?", Ollie asked.
"There is someone down there! If that was you, you would want help too right!", he replied. Ollie knotted her head down and grabbed the book from the ground. He offered to hold Ollie's hand, but she declined.
"You know how I feel, Mason", she said. Mason apologized and they walked down.
The staircase was short but felt like a thousand stairs as they walked down. Finally, they walked on the flat ground and immediately saw a metal cage. Beyond that was a man kneeled on the ground in the corner. Mason grabbed a lantern close by and slowly walked towards the cage. The light illuminated a dreaded middle-aged man. He looked scrawny like he hadn't eaten in days, with jagged clothes and no shoes.
The man tilted his head to the two of them and said, "Help....me".
"Okay, we will help you!", Mason said. Mason looked for the key for the cage while Ollie talked to the man.
"Hello, are you ok?", she asked. The man was silent. "My name is Olivia, and this is Mason. We are going to help you ok". Ollie then asked questions on how and why he was placed in a cage like a dog.
"Who would do this to you? Why?", she questioned while Mason searched around the darkened lit room.
Suddenly the man reacted irrationally. He gazed upon the book Ollie held in her hand and charged towards her. With the help of the cage, he was stopped before he could've gotten anywhere near Ollie.
"Where did you get that!", he snarled with foam running from his mouth. Ollie was scared. "The Book of the Ordinance should not be held by a child so give it to me, now!". Ollie didn't know how to react while the man reached out his hand. The man grabbed her and pulled her closer to the cage. Ollie instantly freaked out. She closed her eyes and started flaring her arms around, which loosened the man’s grip. When she was freed, she started shaking vividly with her pupils dilated.
"Found it!", Mason shouted.
"HEY, YOU KIDS SHOULDN'T BE HERE!".
Mother Ruby had noticed the door open and found Mason and Ollie. Quickly, Mason dropped the key and threw the lantern at Mother Ruby with force, dropping her to the ground. Her fall to the ground sounded like a lightning bolt striking down. Mason noticed Ollie breathing quickly and swiftly came to her aid.
"Ollie listen to me, breath ok! Just breath". Mason assisted Ollie to recollect her mind and focus on reality. As her breathing finally slowed down, she pleaded, "We need to leave Mason!". "What about him?" Mason asked.
"There is a reason he is in this cage. He just lunged and grabbed me", she replied.
Ollie ran up the stairs while Mason followed. They sprinted up the stairs, but Mother Ruby recovered quickly. She dragged her body up the stairs with her hands extended out to catch Mason who was lagging behind. Ollie and Mason made it out, but Mother Ruby was reaching closer to them. With adrenaline fueling their bodies, they pulled the metal door. Mother Ruby's body collided with the door, forcing it to close shut. She screamed in pain as blood rained down from her forehead. She connected head first with the metal door.
"Fucking hell!", Ollie shouted.
"We need to get Josh and leave!", Mason reassured.
Mother Ruby screeched loudly but no one could’ve heard her screams. The man inside the cage noticed the key close to his cage. He quickly grabbed the key and unlocked the cage. With tears raining from her eyes, Mother Ruby sat down and cried in pain.
"Mother?", she heard. Mother Ruby looked down the stairs into the darkness expecting to see something.
"Mother, is that you? That is what they call you right?", the voice said again.
"Yes, Harry", she cried.
"Mother, you forgot about me".
"No Harry none of us forgot about you".
"LIES".
Mother Ruby felt a chill down her spine. She could hear someone walking up the stairs but couldn't see anyone because of how dark it was. She screamed out, "Harry, we wanted to make you better. The book was going to make you better". Mother Ruby then wiped the blood from her face.
"You can smell it, can't you Harry", she asked.
Harry replied, "Yes Mother, I can smell the warm blood dripping from your face".
"No Harry, you need to fight the urges, Harry. There are kids in this orphanage, Harry! I know the Conclave force you to do this, but we ca help you'.
The footsteps stopped. Mother Ruby heard silence.
Finally, a voice was heard saying, "You can't help this world anymore!".
Like a tiger, Harry pounced out of the darkness with razor sharp canine teeth and drilled them inside the neck of Mother Ruby. Mother Ruby could feel the deep pain in her neck, but no one could hear her faint blood curdling scream from inside the office when she started gurgling her own blood.
Josh and Calvin were positioned opposite walls from each other. "Asshat!", Calvin yelled out. Like a ping pong match, Josh yelled back, "Dumbass". Clearly, they thought negatively of each other while inside of The Capsule. The sound of keys colliding together broke their match. Mason had opened the door and told Josh that they needed to leave now. Josh got up but Calvin stayed seated. Josh depressingly looked at Calvin. and followed Mason.
Mother Sapphire waited for all the kids to make it but one of the orphans wanted to talk to her.
"What is the problem, Adam?", she asked.
Adam told Mother Sapphire how he saw Ollie near her office. Without hesitation, Mother Sapphire bolted to her office and noticed the door was open. When she went inside, her entire face was stunned. She turned around and saw a puddle of blood seeping beneath the metal door. Curious, she used all her might to push the door open. In a river of blood, Mother Ruby laid dead on the staircase. Mother Sapphire couldn't comprehend what was happening until she noticed the two deep bite marks drilled into Mother Ruby. Instantly she muttered under her breath, "Harry". She struggled out of the office while yelling out to the other orphans. Unaware of her surroundings, she collided with someone who knocked her to the ground. When she lifted her head, she knew who it was.
"Harry", she said.
"Yes Sapphire, it's me, Harry. The one you locked in that damn cage. I was starving Sapphire, and you did nothing".
"No Harry, please stop. This isn't you. You can fight this".
Harry chuckled, "Ruby said that, now she's dead. So how do you think this is going to go?". Like Deja vu, Harry lunged at Mother Sapphire and drilled his teeth into her neck, painting the walls in her crimson blood.
Josh, Ollie, and Mason ran through the halls.
"Catch me up to speed", Josh asked.
Mason gave him the entire story. Ollie added, "There was also this weird man who fucking touched me!".
"Hey kids", said Harry. They turned around and saw Harry beyond the hallway holding the severed head of Mother Sapphire. Without any nerves, he threw her head and watched it roll down to the three of them like a ball. When it stopped, her soulless eyes pierced down to their frightened souls.
Unable to say anything, Harry whispered to them, "Don't worry guys, I give the same treatment to everyone".
While Harry slowly walked over to them, they couldn't move. It was like Harry was Medusa and he turned the three of them into stone, but he didn't. Mason built up the courage to open the door beside them and dragged everyone inside. Mason locked the door to which looked like a kitchen they were in and placed a chair under the knob.
"Guys!", he said as he tried to get the attention of the frightened statues. "Josh! Ollie!". None of them responded. "Josh, as the leader of this shit group, you should be the one encouraging us and Ollie you should be the one with the bright ideas. Come on you guys snap out of it", he cried.
Finally, Josh and Ollie snapped back into reality. Josh replied, "Yeah you're right. We need to get out of here. Probably distract him or something?".
"I mean when I was down there with him, he really wanted this book", Ollie said.
Josh asked what that book was about. Ollie replied, "He called it The Book of the Ordinance, but I don't see that anywhere on the book".
"And it can't open", Mason added.
Josh took a second to think until he looked over a small window close by him. "Okay, I have the perfect plan!".
'KNOCK, KNOCK", said the door behind them. They stopped what they were doing and stared at the door. Again, the door spoke, "KNOCK, KNOCK", but this time a voice was heard behind it. "Open the door, I just want an ice cream sandwich!".
Josh recognized the voice and opened the door. When Josh saw Calvin, he swiftly grabbed him inside and locked the door. "Oh, I'm happy to see you dumbass!", Josh said.
"What's your problem asshat!", Calvin replied.
"Thank the heavens you're here Calvin. This will make out plan much easier", Josh praised.
Calvin replied, "What plan?".
Josh told Calvin that there was something chasing after them that killed Mother Sapphire. Calvin didn't believe their lies until there was another knock at the door.
The grains of the wooden door exploded with a strong force that penetrated through the center. With a clear view, it was a hand which unlocked the door from inside of the kitchen to open the door. Once the door was opened, it was obvious that it was Harry because of the gallons of blood drenched on his body. He looked abnormal with sharp canines, dilated pupils, and a sinister smile covered with blood.
As blood poured from his mouth, he muttered, "Where are you guys? I don't really like hide and seek".
A voice alerted him, which he acknowledged by turning opposite his direction. Josh was stalking the man down to his soul with the book Ollie had in her hand. He lifted the book signaling to him that he had the book he was so passionate about. Harry was clearly interested in the book more than Josh because his eyes were fixated on the direction Josh waved the book around. Josh tossed the book over to his left which Ollie caught it. She was clearly terrified when Harry angled towards her as she took the book in her hand. Her breathing was cold, and her hands were trembling, forcing her to throw the book to the person next to her poorly. Mason missed the catch which allowed Harry to lunge for the book. When Mason grabbed a hold on the book, he noticed a strong force pulling against him. Harry had already gripped the book at the same time as him. In a moment of horror, Harry flashed his two sharp fangs at Mason, caging him in a state of terror.
"Calvin, hurry up with the fucking flour!", Mason shouted. Answering the call, Calvin pulled Harry towards his direction and scattered flour in his face. With flour in his eyes, Harry was perplexed about his surroundings. Harry screamed while he strengthened his grip on the book. Mason noticed when Harry let go of one of his hands to remove the flour from his eyes. Seizing the opportunity, Mason repeatedly kicked Harry's arm which held the book, to remove his grip. Mason threw the book over to Calvin and told them to leave.
While Harry was yelling in pain trying to remove the flour from his face, Josh replied, "Ain’t no fucking way we are leaving you bro".
"Josh just leave okay. I'll by you some time", Mason replied.
They noticed Harry was scrambling around for something to remove the flour from his eyes. Calvin shouted, "Look he's distracted. You're just wasting time".
Mason replied, "No, you all are wasting time talking to me. He'll just be back for us so go now!".
Ollie finally muttered the power to speak. "Mason, don't do this!".
"Family protect one another", Mason said. A strong connection filled the air. They clearly had a special bond between each other throughout their years in the orphanage.
"NOW GO!".
Those two words Mason said severed the connection they had. Finally, Josh, Ollie, and Calvin ran out of the kitchen, leaving Mason with Harry. Mason heard the water from the sink turn on. Realizing the sound of satisfaction, he noticed the flour was washed away from Harry's face.
"Let's dance blood sucker!", Mason said as he turned around to his direction. Without any hesitation, Harry lunged at Mason with rage in his eyes.
Josh, Ollie, and Calvin ran through the halls, passing the many bodies of orphans on the ground. The aroma was tainted with the smell of dead people as the walls were painted with the blood of the orphans. While they were running, Mason was trying his best to dodge Harry's attacks to reach his neck. He taunted him to further add fuel to his fiery rage. Unexpectedly, Harry speed accelerated to lighting speeds. He appeared in front of Mason like a ghost and drove his teeth into Mason's neck. Screaming in pain, Mason was launched where his back collided on the strong metallic gas stove. He felt like he couldn't move. His vision was blurry as he thought he saw three people walking towards him, but it was only Harry's blood-deprived body dragging itself towards Mason. He tried to stop the bleeding with his hands, but he only caused more blood to gash out like a waterfall. Mason started to notice that Harry was about to charge at him. Harry licked the blood from his face and sprinted towards Mason. With the adrenaline coursing through his veins, Mason quickly turned the gas stove on and dodged out of the way. As the blazing flames roared, Harry's body ignited when he charged forward to get Mason. Mason watched as Harry's body scattered around the room with his screams echoing the walls of the kitchen. The kitchen started to ignite in flames when Harry was running around the room tainted everywhere with flames. With the last strength in his body, Mason tried to drag himself out of the kitchen, but he was too weak. Mason turned to watch the flames roar closer to him. He sat in front of the kitchen door and closed his eyes, accepting his fate.
Luckily Josh, Ollie, and Calvin made it out of the orphanage with the book and their lives. Even though outside was dark, they navigated to the forest where it was safe. They waited for Mason to come back but they were only greeted with roaring flames that erupted from the orphanage. Ashes filled the air, as they watched the entire orphanage engulf in flames. The only thing they could do was gaze upon the disaster.
"I'm going for him!", Josh shouted. Calvin grabbed Josh's arm and preached, "Look at that Josh! It's hell over there! Face the facts, Mason is dead".
Josh pushed Calvin and replied, "Don't you dare say that!".
"What do you want me to say Josh? He's alive, Josh! He'll rise from those ashes like a phoenix, Josh! Where's the truth in that? He sacrificed himself for us".
Josh walked towards Calvin with his entire face flooded in tears. “Stop acting like you care!", Josh said before turning around and walking into the forest. Calvin was clearly perplexed since his face was lost in a void. He didn't reply to Josh or watch him walk into the forest. He turned to face Ollie. She was looking at the blazing fire while clutching tightly on the book they stole from the orphanage. Calvin tried to comfort Ollie by placing his hand on her shoulder. Instantly, she stepped back and said, "Sorry, I don't like when people touch me". Ollie turned around and followed Josh into the forest.
Calvin sighed looking at the decrepit orphanage. Many lives were lost, and memories were burnt at that orphanage. Calvin was depressed about his actions. He recalled how brave Mason was to protect them and wanted to say a message to the orphans he bullied in the past.
"The only words I can say is I'm sorry", Calvin said as he looked at the building. "Josh was right, I was just letting my anger out on people who didn't deserve to die like this. I really hope you can forgive me".
Calvin followed Josh and Ollie in their direction into the forest as the ashes coated the air. Sadly, Josh, Ollie, and Calvin were the only known survivors of this catastrophic event and they hope to survive in this world they now know more about as the night continues.
