PROLOGUE -- FABULA PRAETERITI

Have you heard of Adam and Eve? The children of the most glorious God, created by his almighty power. Given a home in the most beautiful garden of Eden, God’s human children were spoiled beyond compare with only a single law to rule them.

“You must not eat from the Tree of Knowledge”

Alas, while humans were created in the image of the glorious God, they were quite the foolish lot from the beginning, and easily manipulated by other deities and devils of the land. As a devious snake dictated, Eve ate the forbidden fruit...And like any other father with disobedient children, God had to punish his children.

Though he was in disdain, he knew he had to- and so with much dismay, the great God had to allow the consanguineous pair to evanesce into the outer realms which he lacked control. Despite this, of course, his paternal instinct made him want to protect his children. And so, despite the banishment, he also made sure to strengthen their immortality they had been imbued with at creation- though this ability was not one that could be passed through their personal genetic lineage.

As years passed by the millenia, Adam and Eve watched the human race endlessly. They saw the births and the deaths; the peace and the war; the love and the pain. But with each death, it was harder to watch their children and great grandchildren and all the rest die. In agony, they created a secret haven using the magic used to imbue their immortality’s strength: They created a hidden pocket in the center of the land. A little pocket town of their own.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

The pocket town grew when they got lonely. Those that didn’t fit in with humans- supernaturals much like them- began to flee to the town as a safe haven. The town was given a loving name by its inhabitants and founders. It was soon named Ederna- and for centuries on, the residents of this pocket land lived in peace.

Peace never goes on forever, however. God had learned that and so had they- but somehow the lesson never fully implemented itself. As the landmass that was the Earth began to separate, the pocket hidden in magic became the central pillar not of the world, but of a small country created by tectonic deviation. This country was the only one now, the only one that remembered Adam and Eve and their love that created humanity...But like the rest of the world, they were assumed dead, their immortality left unknown to the world.

That immortality, however, was too but a myth in the reality of the world. For unbeknownst to the humans that would guess, or to the God that had given her the magic to live forever…

The ever immortal Eve has tragically died.

...Was the magic real, or always a lie?
