Chapter 1 - Aaron's First Kill

Chapter 1 - Aaron's First Kill

Aaron continues to dodge the goblin's attempt at shanking him with a six-inch stone dagger, always staying one step ahead of the goblin.

'That thing is really trying to kill me, and I can't easily outrun it.' He thought to himself, 'I should have really trained myself by jogging daily in order to improve myself rather than be a shut-in all day.'

"Shit!" He loudly curses underneath his breathe.

However, he accidentally made a fatal mistake, and backed himself into a corner, with no escape.

Backed himself against the wall, with no alternative escape route. Aaron has no choice but to brace for the impact and take the hit.

"Grrrhuhuhu..." The viscous goblin loudly sneers at Aaron's bad luck, revealing its yellowish teeths.

The goblin prepares to strike him down, where he stands. It raises the six-inch-long stone dagger within its right hand up, and then bring it down in a swift slashing motion.

Aaron instinctively reacted, in order to defend himself, he used his left arm to guard against the slash attack.

The ragged rough edges of the six inches long stone dagger blade was not sharp enough to fully cut through the strong fabric of Aaron's own school uniform. It, however, left a deep gash wound on Aaron's left arm.

"Ugh" Aaron screamed in pain, as blood began to slowly seep out from his open slash wound.

Without much thought, Aaron instinctively counterattacked, by kicking the vicious goblin who attacked him in the stomach, in order to draw some distance between the two.

The goblin landed a couple of feet away from him. The six-inch-long dagger still held tightly within his right hand.

The goblin looks extremely pissed off, for being made a laughing stock. So it got up on its own feet and immediately starts launches a wave of attacks.

'The slash wounds are not that deep. It didn't sever any of my tendons or cut through my artery veins.' He thought to himself, as he moves his left arm around and the fingers within his left hand. 'So I'm not bleeding profusely, without end.'

Aaron draws enough distance for himself in order to somewhat recover from the attack.

'I need to hurry and find a way to finish up the goblin before I start losing too much blood, but how...' He thought to himself, as he applied pressure on the open wound with his spare hand.

Aaron anxiously said so to himself, 'I need to hurry and find a way to stop to it from attacking using that stone dagger.'

He thought to himself for a second, then looks down at his open slash, and then back at the incoming goblin. A strange idea then pops up inside his head, 'I've got it.' He exclaims.

'Whenever the goblin gets close to me, I'll use my school blazer to block out its sight and then ambush it from behind.' Aaron then came up with an audacious plan.

Aaron then hurriedly takes off his school blazer and put the plan into action immediately, without a second thought. 'It's better than nothing, letting yourself get killed without a fighting chance.' He thought to himself.

Aaron then got into position himself, and stood his ground, holding the school blazer firmly with his two hands, much like a matador and his red cloth.

The goblin fastly approaches, readying its ragged stone dagger, as it wants to tear Aaron viciously apart.

Once the goblin is up close and almost in his face, Aaron then lightly throws the school blazer in front of him. It temporarily obscured his figure from the goblin's sight, as Aaron then moves away from his previous spot, and the goblin then stabs nothing but thin air.

"Gukui." The goblin made a sound showcasing visible confusion, as it realised its dagger struct nothing but thin air.

Taking advantage of the momentary blind spot when the goblin's back turns towards him. He launches an ambush on the goblin's backside.

He furiously jumped onto the goblin backside and pushing it down to the ground, temporarily disarming it.

Without much thought, kicked in by the sudden rush of adrenaline, and the instincts to survive. He suddenly became overwhelmed with the urges to kill.

Aaron's eyes became completely bloodshot, as he thought about nothing else but to kill the little green skin gremlin, that which is the goblin that lay pinned underneath him. It inflicted so much pain onto him, within a short amount of time span, nothing he has ever felt so before.

The clogs withinside his brain then click, everything then becomes eerily quiet withinside his head, as Aaron's then wraps his hands and fingers around the pinned down goblin's neck.

What felt like minutes to Aaron only lasted well as a couple of seconds. Well, even for the so-called fight didn't even last a full minute.

With all the strength that he could muster up from withinside his body, he starts to strangle the poor pinned down a goblin, wringing every bit of life out from its body.

"DIE! BITCH! DIE!" Aaron shouted at the top of his lungs, his voice then echoes down the empty corridors.

"Gukughuh!" The goblin then lets out muffled screams, as the air is being wrung out from his lungs.

It's head constantly being banged about on the floor, as Aaron smashed its head on the ground repeatedly in order to shut it up. Viscous green monster blood then began to ooze out from the green skin goblin's mouth and smashed horribly disfigured face.

His unceasing angry screams and shouting even made its own way towards the ICT classroom of B10 that he was in. Everyone was certainly surprised and was wondering what was going on.

Anik then shows a visibly confused face as he wondered to himself, 'Was that Aaron's voice? It can't be?' He seems to be filled with such disbelief. 'It seems to contain so much anger and hatred. I have never heard Aaron screamed like that before. Something must be wrong here.'

Anik doesn't feel so good, as he suddenly becomes overwhelmed with an unceasingly bad feeling here.

Joel who was seated right next beside Anik was filled with worry, and decided to speak whatever was on his mind, "Something is not right out there."

"Yeah," and Anik certainly agrees with Joel's point of view.

Mr.Davies was the first one to react, being the responsible adult here, he must take full responsibility and control over the matter. "Everyone please remained seated. I will go outside and check whatever is going on outside. So stay calm and wait patiently." Mr.Davies said so in a calm and orderly manner.

However, on the inside, Mr.Davies is panicking, almost having a heart attack.

He thought, 'What the fuck is going on outside. Is there some kind of fight... Could it possibly escalate to an extent where we have a murder on our case.' Mr.Davies is filled with unceasing worry as he left the room.

Aaron strangled the neck of the pinned down goblin too hard, preventing any oxygen from entering its lung, that he literally broke the poor little goblin's neck immediately killing it and ended its own suffering inflicted upon itself.

Aaron then lays there quietly, on top of the pinned down goblin's body, with his hands wrapped around the dead goblin's neck.

He strangely felt relieved for the first time, that strange tightness and anxiety hanging around his chest are no more, it has finally lifted. Aaron strangely felt like an almost new person.

He strangely starts to question himself, 'What is this new feeling that I'm experiencing?'

Ti-ring!

Aaron then heard a mechanical beeping noise withinside his head.

He unconsciously uttered out, "Huh?"

Numerous blue screen panels began to appear before his very eyes. The feeling felt so surreal, almost like that out of LitRPG novel.

Aaron immediately got off of the dead goblin's corpse, feeling a bit nauseated at first. 'It's my first time taking another person's life. Even if that said creature is not exactly a human. It still possesses the intelligence and humanoid figure that resembles a human.'

'Thank god, the first time that I killed was not a human person. Otherwise, the guilt that I'm feeling for taking another's life would be much more.' Aaron thought to himself, as he then breathes out a sigh of relief.

He calms himself down, and supported himself by leaning against the wall.

'The current situation that which this world is currently facing right now is beyond my understanding. Everything will certainly change...' Aaron thought to himself, as he stares at his shaken hands.

'Is this fear or is it truly excitement?' He asked himself, unsure of what to answer.

'The world will sooner or later be filled with monsters. Danger will be lurking around every corner if I don't start to become more cautious of Mt surroundings...' Aaron paused for a second, before continuing. "This is the new norm now."

It was at this time that Mr.Davies exits the B10 ICT classroom that he was supervising. He immediately saw the crouching figure of Aaron sitting down beside the door.

"What the heck is going on here? You better explain yourself, Aar..." Mr.Davies tries to lecture Aaron himself.

He didn't get a chance to finish his sentence when his eyes finally landed on the dead corpse of a goblin.

Aaron's maroon school blazer conveniently covers the upper half of the green skin goblin's body. So it may accidentally lead to some misunderstandings and complications.

Mr.Davies stared at the dead goblin's corpse right in front of him. Motionless and unmoving, right before his feet.

He first assumed that Aaron got into a heated fight with some kid. 'Did he killed the boy he got into a heated fight with.' Mr.Davies thought to himself, as he then becomes slightly afraid of Aaron.

When he looks inside the boy's cold collective eyes. He then saw the look of a killer within the boy's eyes.

And the blood seeping out from his white long shirt, dying the carpet floor red, only seems to further confirmed his theory. 'The boy is a killer. He killed someone...'

The six-inch-long stone dagger laying a couple of inches away from Aaron's figure. Its rough edges are covered in fresh human blood.

Mr.Davies could instinctively smell the small traces of iron lingering in the air, which could easily differentiate between fake and otherwise real blood.

"Did you kill him by yourself?" Mr.Davies spoke with a trembling, having become frightened by Aaron's cold demeanour.

Aaron didn't say anything else for some time, further amplifying the eerie silent atmosphere. He then nodded his head confirming that Mr Davies's accusation was correct.

He thought, 'Who else but I would have killed that green goblin bastard.'

Mr.Davies made an accurate deduction that the killer was Aaron. However, he made a severe misjudgement of the case.

The one lying underneath the cloth fabric was not even human. It was a goblin.

The goblin may have resembled a human child slightly in size and stature, but its appearance and looks are not that of a human. It is therefore a monster, and should not be treated on the same wavelength as a precious human life.

And besides, the monster goblin was the first one to instigate an attack. Aaron was only just defending himself, by ending the poor creature's life, he manages to save his own.
