I promptly scolded Fifi and made her sit back down. My body was hunched over and I was concentrating on the braid. I needed to finish this braid or I’ll never feel satisfied.
“Hey, Fifi can I ask you some questions?”
“Yeah Jude, go ahead.”
Fifi energetically replied back. I’m glad she was full of energy again. I would rather have her be full of energy and cheeky, then her crying.
“What happened yesterday night? Is Mako ok? How did I get here?”
Looking through the blinds I could tell that it was nighttime. I shouldn’t have been asleep for that long, probably a day or two.
“Compliment me and I’ll tell you.”
This cheeky little fairy.
“Your long slender legs are very beautiful and I want to lay on them. I want to embrace them and kiss every inch of them.”
“Wwawawa.”
Heh, that’s for calling me a treasure box in the prison. You weren’t expecting that were you.
From behind, I could see that Fifi was flustered. Her pointy ears turned red out of embarrassment. Now that I think about it, didn’t I just say something very embarrassing? Oh god, I’m regretting my words already.
I slam my face into the bed to try and forget what I just said. I could feel my face heat up.
“I see. He likes something like that.”
I could hear Fifi murmur something, but I couldn’t make out what it was. Ok, concentrate Jude. Just finish the braid and forget what you said.
“S-so can you answer my questions now?”
“Yeah, so you’ve been asleep for an entire day Jude. Do you know how bored I was just sitting around all day in this room? Back in my days, the heroes I raised could recover from those types of battles in a few hours.”
“Sorry, I’ll do better in the future.”
I don’t know if I’ll face more monsters in the future, but it’ll be helpful if I can recover faster. I don’t want to be laying in a bed incapacitated because that would just make my daily life inconvenient.
“Yeah, you still need to be stronger before you’re considered a real hero. And you also have to think about OUR future. I don’t want you needlessly losing your hero’s blood.”
Heh, I guess this selfish little fairy will always be selfish. She wants me to be safe so I can supply her blood and treasure.
“About your second question, I can’t answer that. Yesterday night when Mako was carrying you out of the prison, we were suddenly stopped by other humans. They had some sort of weapons pointed at us and forced Mako to get on the ground. After a while, Mako was taken into a different carriage than you.”
Carriage? She must be talking about a car. While I was taken to the hospital, Mako was probably taken to be interrogated. We did escape from prison, so the officers must have thought that Mako and I were inmates.
“Thanks, Fifi.”
“I’m amazing aren’t I.”
“Yeah, yeah, amazing.”
I was finally done with the braid I just needed a hair tie to tie the end bit.
“Fifi, do you have a hair tie?”
“Let me check.”
Fifi began rummaging through her pouch. This time it didn’t take as long.
“I only have pieces of cloth. Can you use them?”
“Yeah.”
“Ok, choose whichever color then.”
Fifi presented 4 different cloths of different colors, one is green, another yellow, another red, and the last one white. Hmm, which color would look the best to compliment the braid. If I choose green then it would match her dress and her eyes which wouldn’t look too bad. The yellow cloth was a different shade from her hair so it would stand out even if it was tied onto her golden hair. Red is a classic color to use, but I don’t think it fits Fifi’s overall look. White also seems nice. Her dress is green, but there are also streaks of white on it. The white bow would make the white stand out more and balance the overall color.
“Jude, are you done choosing yet?”
“Sorry, Fifi give me a little more time.”
“Hehe, you overthink on the weirdest things.”
It’s either green or white. Which one should I pick?
“Alright, your braid’s done, Fifi.”
“Thanks, Jude. You chose white?”
Fifi looked at the braid with a white cloth tied at the end of it. The simple braid wasn’t the best but I feel accomplished. Even the white cloth complements it well. The knot was tied the same way I tied shoes, a single knot.
“Yep, it’s definitely pretty.”
“Thanks, Jude.”
She turned around to face me and gave me a bright smile. Her face was still a little flushed from crying.
“No problem, Fifi. I did make you cry so I could this for you at least.”
“Yeah, you insensitive butt head.”

“I’m sorry.”
Now that I was done with Fifi’s braid, I lay back down next to Fifi. Making that braid was mentally tiring.
Fifi got up and started walking on the pillow. I couldn’t see her but I could feel her laying on my hair.
“I forgive you. You don’t know anything about me so how would you know that I feel insecure about my hair.”
“Fifi, sorry for not knowing anything.”
“It’s fine, we have a lifetime ahead of us to get to know each other.”
“Yeah, even without the contract I still want to learn more about you.”
“Thanks, but this isn’t a one-sided deal. I’m going to make you reveal all your secrets to me.”
Fifi playfully pulled on my hair.
“Hahaha, ok.”
While we continued to talk, the sound of the door handle being moved could be heard. Someone was entering the room.
“Fifi hide, someone’s coming.”
“It’s fine Jude, didn’t you see earlier when I turned invisible. Unless they’re stronger than me or they’re able to sense magic then they won’t be able to see me unless I allow them to.”
“Ok, but can you get out of my hair. They would still see the indentation on my hair if you’re still there.”
Fifi complied and got out of my hair. Instead, she was now sitting on my left shoulder.
The door opened and two men in black suits came in. They didn’t seem like regular people. In fact, they seemed like characters from the movie “Men in Gray”, but in black suits.
One of them was tan with black hair while the other had lighter skin with blond hair. The man with black hair closed the door and leaned against the wall. The blond-haired man grabbed a chair and sat next to my bed.
“Jude, these guys came this morning while you were still asleep. They injected something into your body so be careful of them.”
My body shivered a little as Fifi whispered into my ear. A tingly sensation was sent throughout my body. It was the same sensation when Mako whispered into my ear yesterday. I guess my ears are very sensitive.
They injected with me with something? These two didn’t look like doctors so it must have been for some other reason. Are they part of the government? Did they try and poison me? No, I would have felt something by now. I need to gather information.
“Hello, do you two need something?”
“Nothing much, we just wanted to ask you what you remember about yesterday.”
“Yesterday? Is this some sort of check-up?”
“Something like that.”
Are they asking about the bus incident or are they asking about the monster incident? Should I tell them the truth?
“Jude act ignorant. These two men are dangerous. I can feel that they are trained killers.”
Hearing Fifi’s words, I knew my choice of action.
“Hmm, I can’t seem to remember much. I-I think I was on my way home, and there was some sort of dispute on the bus. After that, the bus crashed and the next thing I know, I was in this room.”
The blond-haired man stared at me for a bit before signaling to his partner with his hands.
“Alright, sorry to bother you, sir. We’ll be on our way then.”
After saying that the two of them left. It was suspicious, are they really going to leave just like that. They were in the room for a few minutes only.
“Jude.”
“Quiet, keep yourself hidden.”
I use the remote next to my bed and turn off the lights. I lay to my side with my back towards the door. My head was covered by the blanket so Fifi could come out. I don’t trust those two men.
“Fifi, you can come out now.”
Fifi’s body was slowly becoming visible. She was right in front of my face. My nose poked at her belly and her dress tickled my nose. It was very soft. Her face was flushed red, probably from the heat under the blanket. I did cover us and I’m breathing on her, so she’s probably hot.
“Don’t look.”
“Ok.”
I didn’t want to upset her again so I quickly close my eyes. I could hear the sound of her clothes shuffling. I wonder what she’s doing?
“Can I open my eyes now.”
“Yeah.”
I opened my eyes and saw my beautiful braid. Fifi had turned away from me and shuffle a little away from me. The braid was lying on the pillow right next to Fifi’s exposed back. Her dress had an opening on the upper back part so the top of her back was exposed. Her entire body was curled up and her cute butt under her dress stuck out towards me. I could see her little toes wiggling.
“Fifi.”
“Y-yah!”
She stumbled her words and her tone was oddly high. I chuckled a little bit.
“Shh, be quieter Fifi.”
“O-ok.”
“I think those men are still watching us.”
“Are they using magic? But I don’t sense anything?”
“I don’t think so. Humans have made something called a camera that can watch people from a distance.”
“That sounds amazing, and they aren’t using magic!?”
Fifi was oddly excited at learning about what a camera was. She was asleep for a thousand years so there are a lot of things she doesn’t know about. She’s going to be surprised when we leave this hospital.
“Yeah, so I think we should leave this place by tomorrow and find Mako. If they took measures to silence me then they might have done something to Mako.”
“Ok, so what should we do now.”
“We sleep.”
|......|
“What does the video show?”
“Look for yourself, it’s pretty odd.”
The two men in black suits were watching a recording of Jude’s room. From the angle of the recording, the camera was hidden within a vent on the ceiling.
The recording showed Jude sleeping, and the man with black hair skipped that part. The next scene showed Jude opening his eyes and looking around for a bit. After that Jude started watching TV for about 10 minutes before turning it off. Suddenly he raised his body from the bed and started saying something.
“Why isn’t their audio.”
“HQ decided that all agents should learn how to read lips so they stopped giving us audio equipment.”
“So do you know how to read lips.”
“Nope, do you?”
“No, let’s just continue watching.”
The next scene Jude turned his head and stared at his pillow.
“What’s he staring at?”
“His pillow, I guess? Maybe there was a bug or something.”
A few minutes later Jude was laughing to himself and then he slammed his head into the bed. The two men watching were stunned at what they were watching. They couldn’t see Fifi, so all they saw was a crazy person acting by himself.
They continue to watch and saw Jude hunched over, fiddling with his fingers, then he started crying. He stopped crying and screamed at something before going back to fiddling with his fingers.
“Do you think this is a side-effect of the memory wiping serum?”
“I don’t know. Our records say that this kid has suffered from depression before so it could be because of that.”
“I see. Do we have more information on him?”
“He’s 19 years old, born on April 1st, 2000. His hometown is in Hoton, Colorfornia, and he moved to Ostempal, Colorfornia, for college. During his middle school years, he and his family went on a trip and all three of them were struck by lightning, the only survivor was him. In high school, he had a heart attack and for some reason, the reports say that he was having severe trust issues. These are the major points on this kid’s record.”
“What an unlucky kid. I hope he has forgotten what he saw in that prison and lives a normal life. I don’t want him to suffer any more than he has too.”
“It’s part of our job, let’s observe him for a few more days before reporting back to HQ.”
“Alright.”
