I awoke to find a desolate and barren desert. The sun hanging overhead. My mouth was dry but I felt no hunger. A thirst, but oddly, not for water or any other refreshing beverage I could place.

‘Where am I? Wait, more importantly, who am I again?’

Looking around me, I see a pyramid off in the distance. Except, this pyramid was massive. Seemingly, built entirely of gold and as tall as the sky. Yet, for some reason, I wasn’t surprised or impressed.

I take a moment to look at what I’m wearing. Gray and black shoes, slim-tapered dark blue jeans, a gray shirt and dark brown leather jacket. A plain looking watch on my left wrist. Naturally, looking to see the exact time, I see...nothing?

‘There’s nothing beneath the glass casing on my watch? No numbers, ticks, indentations...just...nothing?’

It’s pure black beneath the glass casing.

A warmth suddenly fills my entire being. My mind feels like a fog is being lifted from it.

‘I remember now, what it is I’m doing…’

Placing my right hand on the ground, I then say aloud “Yuen”
