Too Stupid to be Insane

paragnom-a

It didn’t take the toaster long to realize some mistakes that it had been doing. The fact that it didn’t assign stat points was a very big mistake on its part, luckily from its titles it kept becoming a better magician. The toaster didn’t know the upper limits of its magic yet, and had yet to experiment to see if it could ever run out. Though now didn’t seem the time as it was still in hostile territory.

The toaster needed something, some way to open doors like these other than smashing its face into the door until it opened. Which it doubted would work on the doors now considering their size, and trying to melt them down also didn’t seem to work from its experience.

It thought back to the skeleton for a moment, it was what humans had in them when you used enough heat on them to melt off their flesh. Maybe animating objects would follow the same logic, pour mana into them and use mana control to control the bodies. Nothing that would be a suitable body was close though so it went through its options. It already knew how to make stuff with mana maybe that could suffice for a body.

Luckily it knew a lot about dolls like this as Mike was an art major, so those posing dolls were all over the place. The toaster just had to make the doll bigger, size shouldn’t be an issue as long as function stayed the same. Making orbs of mana to start off it started working on the various parts of the doll.

After the mana had been worked into the pieces of the doll, the toaster started to pop all the ball joints together. Not sure exactly why these models had so many moving parts, but it hoped that a skill would come of this so it could start to refine this task down.

Skill Gained: Intermediate Doll Making

You sly dog you, creating your own girlfriend from mana? Learned how to create more than just a simple rag doll.

Skill Gained: Mana Crafting

Form and function, you have created a way to mold mana into different shapes!

The Toaster looked at the skills gained a bit confused, didn’t the doll making skip a step by going to intermediate? Maybe it was because the doll it made was a bit complex compared to other dolls, but it had never seen other dolls before. Choosing to ignore questions it can’t ask, it turned back to the doll, pouring mana into the hollow areas and trying to animate it.

Luckily mana understands intent, it wasn’t like it would create something from nothing, or turn ice into fire at your whim it just sometimes helped out. Mostly by changing what type of mana it was, in this case it changed to the mana of life. Breathing new life into things is hard though, that’s the reason that summons will be a lot more common later than golems, since they need to have a way to produce mana.

Either way, the toaster got its wish two ways. First, it had created a golem it was now looking at the toaster with curiosity. Secondly it had found out what happens when it runs out of mana, as the toaster fell to the floor passing out.

The Toaster woke up to its golem sitting down with a few humans, playing with some small strips of paper in its hand. The rest of the group seemed to have the same papers in their hands as they talked. A blue box was in front of it, reading, then dismissing the box it focused its attention on the group. Apparently it’s stealth leveled up to level 15 while it was sleeping.

“So your master should be here soon?” One of the humans asked, adjusting the helm that he had gotten from a goblin. Their heads were surprisingly big for their size.

“Yes, should be soon. He is just taking a nap, ran out of mana creating me.” The golem threw down some cards and the others groaned, the golem gathering a bunch of gold coins while laughing.

The toaster found this interesting and floated up behind the golem. The humans jumping back and grabbing their weapons, the golem waving its hand, “Don’t worry, that’s my master.”

“But that’s a monster!”

“Never said he wasn’t, but if you want help through the boss room I’d take his help since none of you are mages.” The golem put the gold coins into its chest since it was hollow, though everyone could see them as his mana was see through.

The humans considered this, as the toaster assigned its stat points. A blue window popping up in the process.

The toaster surprised by the blue box read through it. As much as it loved floating around it needed arms in the case it was faced with doors once more. Golems has arms as far as it could tell, so it went with that option.

It started to shine, its chassis opening up as wires went everywhere thickening until they were like tentacles. The metal outside started to thicken as it spread out making the toaster look like a big toaster with tentacles waving out of its holes. It’s horns turned from their hardened plastic to a metal as well.

Wiggling around its new tentacles the toaster was disappointed, firstly it was not even a quarter of the size of the golem it made, it also only had these dangly things instead of arms. It made angry toots before cursing, “Damn it!”

Everything paused for a moment, before everyone noticed the last change of the toaster. The sticker on the front was now moving around, the sound seemed to have come from it.

“Did.. that toaster just talk?” One of the humans asked, this one was a top heavy one.

Oh it had so many questions now that it could ask! “Why are you top heavy human? Why do you have such small heads, goblins have really big ones? And by the gods, how do I get arms?!” The tentacles grabbed the top heavy one and nearly yelled the last question.

The top heavy human stuttered as she was being yelled at, tears starting to form in her eyes, “I’m a woman, t-that’s why I’m top heavy.” She was stuttering but she still managed to yell at the toaster.

“Oh? Does that make me a male toaster?” It wasn’t top heavy, so it made sense.

“I’ve seen this hentai before,” One of the other male humans mentioned, his fingers tracing the hilt of his sword.

“Um.. can you please let go of Stacey?” The last human stepped forward

The toaster looked over, the smiley face turning into a frowning face. “I can do that male human, but I need to know how to get arms.”

“But I’m not a guy, and we don’t know how to get arms we were just born with them.”

“But your not top heavy like her.” The toaster let out a sigh, and let go of Stacey. It’s tentacles waving around, not knowing what to do with them. It had gained a strange skill when it evolved, so it pulled up the message about it.
