Lost records 1

Victory is not the defeat of your enemies. Victory is the achievement of your goals.

It does not matter how many I kill or how many I bring to my side. The only thing that matters is the objective.

What is my objective? I'm not so sure anymore.

When this started, it was the abolishment of the church. Then, it became the death of the gods. But now, as we march to the final battlefield, I know that even that is not enough to achieve victory.

Victory is freedom, the freedom to choose, the freedom to live, the freedom to die, for our own sake.

Victory is the removal of the idea that they stand above us. Victory is forcing them down from their false throwns and dragging them back through the mud they have forgotten.

This war cannot bring me victory. This conflict of revenge disguised as a rebellion is not capable of leading to my victory.

But, I cannot run.

If I run, not only do I give up on my own victory, I give up on the goals of those who follow me, who still might find victory in this conflict. I give up on the dreams of those who stood behind my false preaching. I give up on the very idea that I can win.

So, I will fight. I will fight and bleed for those who folow me.

I will beat them down with my own hands until my final breath is drawn.

I will fight on because that is what needs be done for my people, my brothers and sisters in arms, my kin.

But, I will not give up on victory.

I will fight till my last, then fight again. I will never let them beat me. I will fight again and again and again—life after lifter after life. I will fight. I will continue my conflict for generations until I achieve victory, even if I never see it myself.

I will spread my message, make them remember it, and maybe, long after my time, I will achieve the victory I am after.

Because victory is not my enemies' death, victory is only achieved when the world can no longer see why I fought. Only when they are free from all but themselves, and they can look at me as a monster, will I have achieved my victory.
