Chapter 51 - Leap of Faith

Chapter 51 - Leap of Faith

Frey runs forward and slows to a walk. Sparky had stopped, his body alert and his ears perked.

Frey lets out a sigh and spreads his cultivation energy outwards to see what he could sense.

Suddenly a chuckle is heard.

“Damn fox. If it was just the boy, this would already be done with.” A voice says.

Frey turns towards the sound and sees a man dressed in green rags. There was dirt smudged on his face and arms, but there was a smile on his face.

“Who are you?” Frey asks.

“Harry, the Relentless Root. Prepare yourself.” He says before leaping forward like a bullet.

Frey moved to unsheathe his sword and planned to defend when a tree root wrapped itself around his foot. Frey frowns. Damn. He thinks as he strikes out to cut the root.

The man was almost upon Frey when a three meter tall red shadow collided with him.

“Fucking fox!” The man yells, his arm caught in Sparky’s jaws. A green mist begins to excrete from his arms and, stung by poison, Sparky releases him.

The root manages to resist Frey’s sword, causing his brows to furrow. Suddenly, an unbearable heat surrounds his sword and he easily slices through the root.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

But, another man had appeared.

“Too late.” The man whispers before a red palm connects with Frey’s chest.

Frey’s eyes widen. His heart began to beat...

**THUMP**

**THUMP**

**THUMP**

Blood began to rush and Frey’s head was flooded with emotions.

The man dressed in red smiles. “You’re mine now, baby. I’ve been looking for a new slave.” He says, eagerness on his face.

**CRACK**

It felt like a seal had been unlocked in Frey’s mine, and like a rushing river, the emotions began to flood through his mind unhindered.

“AAAAHHHHHH!!!” Frey yells. He couldn’t see. He couldn’t think. So he did what any animal would do when backed into a corner. He prayed to the heavens and lashed out with instinct.

Frey’s emotions sensed his surroundings, spurring him with negative and positive thoughts, guiding his blade.

The man’s eyes widen as he leaps out of the way of Frey’s sword. But Frey wouldn’t let go. Like a snake, his blade worked its way through the other man’s defensive boundary, and before long, Frey’s blade tasted blood.

“Ah! Fuck!” The man dressed in red yells as he clutches at the open wound on his side. The blade had went quite deep.

The man realizes something is wrong. “Dammit! Harry! This fucker’s a master!” He yells, somewhat anxious.

But Harry was in no mood to react. His arms and legs were bloody. Even with the poison, the fox was relentless.

Sparky looks over and lets out an anxious howl. His body becomes a blur and in an instant he had arrived next to Frey. Like a cat picking up her kitten, the three meter tall fox picks Frey up by his clothes and sprints away.

“Dammit!” The man in red yells.

“Fuck! Don’t let him get away!” The man in green yells. Unable to stop the struggle, he pushes himself to leap forward.

“For fuck’s sake.” The man in red exclaims as his body floats upwards before pushing forward.

Frey’s heart was continuing to beat and in the turmoil of emotions, hidden memories from his past began to surface…

I want to be a king!

Ha ha! Of course, young Frey… Just make sure to do as I say…

Worry finds its way to Sparky’s eyes. He wouldn’t be able to escape these men anytime soon. If they were willing to sacrifice it, this chase could go on for days. But nearby, Sparky could hear a coursing river beckoning to him…

Sparky sprints forward at his fastest speed. Eventually they were at a cliff, and Sparky did not hesitate and made a leap of faith. Deep below the cliff, a splash resounds, and both Sparky and Frey were carried away by the raging river.

The man in green looks down from the height and frowns. “Well, fuck.” He says, unsure of what else to say.

The man in red shakes his head. “This is what we get for sitting on our asses for so long. You’re taking the blame for this by the way.” He says before walking away. He was in no mood for a swim.
