Chapter 32

When the first demonic invasion began, the Six Heroes were left with only one option after being unable to defeat the demons.

They decided to sacrifice an entire continent and seal it away just so the demons would be unable to escape.

This seal had lasted for over five thousand years, returning the world to its peaceful state, but from time to time, the demons would somehow influence the outside world. Be it demonic apparitions, cults, Half-demons, or many other schemes.

Thanks to this, the families of the Six Heroes, who had inherited the aspects of their ancestors, sent each generation's "Heroes" to clean up any demonic appearances in the world.

Each generation was divided into a one-hundred-year period, where every family would give birth to a child with the original aspect of the heroes.

No one truly knew why this happened, but it was widely accepted by all of the people in the know. However, this meant that when one of the Heroes was killed, his aspect wouldn't be inherited until the one-hundred-year period passed. These children would be sent out as a party when they reached a certain age, maturing and growing together, forming a bond. They would then use their aspects to reinforce the seal made by the Heroes, thus returning the world to peace.

In the previous timeline, the demons had learned of this and used it to their advantage, manipulating royalty, nobles, and influential individuals to act against the new Heroes, killing them and making the world unable to reinforce the seal.

The continent in which the Demons were trapped was called the "Demonic Domain" by the natives of Roia after the seal was installed. Before that, it was part of a long-forgotten empire.

Inside the Demonic Domain, the demons created cities that were different from what the people of Roia were used to. Surprisingly, despite the skin-melting temperatures in their domain, the buildings were constructed with materials like wood, with a black-looking stone as the main base for all of the structures.

Around the center of the Demonic Domain was the entrance to the Demonic Realm, a giant portal that seemed to be functioning through some magical means. The portal had borders constructed of gilded stones with countless intricate patterns. In the area near the portal, countless pillars created by black stone were haphazardly placed, becoming the main habitats of the demons and also the core structures of their organizations.

Each Demon was ranked through a power ranking and was given a residence in these towers based on their rank. The taller the building, the higher its ranking.

Inside the talent's tower, on the fifth floor from the top, a female demon was currently meditating. The Demon resembled a woman in her early twenties, with long red hair and a beautiful face paired with a fit figure. She had the charm to topple any kingdom with just her looks, but if one looked a bit closer, one would notice the subtle differences in her appearance.

Unlike draconians, who were covered in scales and had dragon horns on their heads, Demons had two forms, one that was highly similar to humans and the other being their 'Demonic Form'.

Despite this being the human form of the Demon, her skin was a light gray color, while her red eyes resembled a serpent's. Two small protrusions could be seen on the sides of her forehead, and if she opened her mouth, they would notice that she not only had more teeth than expected but also that her teeth were all sharp as if filed to look like that.

Her 'Demonic form,' on the other hand, was a thing of nightmares, as she was an amalgamation of countless eyeballs revolving around a black smoke in the shape of a woman, with a giant mouth with five rows of teeth located at its midsection.

As the female Demon continued her meditation, her mind drifted back to the events that led her to this point. Her name was Uriltia, and she was a high-ranking demon within the Demonic Domain. She possessed a unique ability to manipulate her own bloodline and create copies of herself.

Uriltia had always been ambitious, driven by a desire to rise in power and dominate those around her. She had worked her way up through the ranks of the demons, earning her position within the Talents Tower. From there, she began to scheme and plot, seeking to seize control of the Demonic Domain and expand their influence into the human realm.

She had created multiple copies of herself with a suppressed demonic bloodline and managed to get them to the other side of the domain, invading Roia while no one knew about it.

After invading, she then used one of the clones to create a family inside the human empire, making it thoroughly blend in with the world. She used a total of five generations of her human offspring to slowly invade one of the noble families. The family she invaded was one of the weakest and most accessible to enter, so she used one of her younger clones to marry a man named Baron Max Byrd.

This clone then gave birth to a child who had awakened her demonic bloodline. Realizing this, she killed off her clone so as not to attract any suspicion and slowly implemented a certain amount of mind control over the child, making him do her bidding.

Although he had awakened his demonic bloodline, it still took him a large amount of resources to properly become a half-demon, but she was still pretty pleased with his progress. So she ordered him to accelerate their plans.

She even doubted how he had even awakened it since the amount of demonic blood inside him was so minuscule that it would be impossible to awaken without a proper catalyst or situation.

In the previous timeline, this was the reason Dean was unable to awaken his bloodline, but after William changed his fate, Dean managed to awaken his bloodline through desperation.

After his father’s death, he was also suspected of being a demonic slave and was hunted down. His guard, Jack was killed while they tried to flee the empire and he miraculously encountered a unique treasure in the process which helped him activate his demonic bloodline.

This, in turn, got him the attention of Uriltia, who accelerated her invasion plans by years, since a true half-demon was far more powerful than any of her clones.

As Urilitia was preparing herself for the upcoming events. Suddenly, she felt a sense of loss, realizing that she had lost connection with the bloodline inside of Dean, making her open her eyes. She quickly understood that he had died, and her plan of destroying the World Tree and getting more demonic slaves was foiled before it was completed.

Frowning, she released a vast torrent of black energy into her room, completely covering it.

"Damn it! Who dares to slaughter my pawn and hinder my plans?!"

The black energy swirled around Uriltia, crackling with malevolent power. Her eyes narrowed with fury as she sensed the disturbance in her carefully laid plans. With a wave of her hand, the black energy dissipated. As her anger subsided, she began to contemplate her next move.

Uriltia's mind raced as she considered the possibilities. It was clear that someone had discovered her schemes and eliminated her pawn. But who could have known? She had been meticulous in covering her tracks and ensuring her actions remained hidden.

William was currently frowning, as things weren't going the way he had expected.

Removing the demonic seed from Ioelena should have been a task that would have been extremely painful, and the process should have taken a few hours to be completed, but that didn't happen.

As soon as he began the ritual with the highest chances of success, things proceeded smoothly, and in just twenty minutes, the demonic seed was removed entirely from her body with no aftermath.

Looking at the purple demonic seed in his hand, William felt odd, not knowing what to think of the situation. He had expected countless hours of experimentation, ready to go through a bit of research after a long time, but things were solved too quickly for him to even get a hint of data to study. Shaking his head, he used the [Incineration] spell to completely destroy the seed.

Sighing, he looked at the now-healthy elven Queen and smiled.

"It seems that the removal went well. I greet the great Elven Queen. We are sorry for intruding into the elven capital without permission."

His words prompted the Queen to smile back, although her smile was everything but happy.

William was sure that she was currently feeling a lot of pain for her people and also for the harmed World Tree.

Glancing at the still corrupt World Tree roots, William couldn't help but anticipate its recovery. He knew that Yggdrasil, the World Tree, was a sentient being, so he wanted to communicate with it since he had yet to have the chance to do so in the previous timeline.

Thankfully, Ioelena didn't keep him waiting, as she began to slowly heal the World Tree using her abilities as its caretaker despite her condition. This was an arduous process, and it would probably take a week for her to completely heal the World Tree, especially in her current state.

William didn’t interfere, however, and just left her to her own devices. He could stop her and push her to recover first, but he knew that would only incur the wrath of the Elves.

They also had many injured soldiers, and it would take them at least two weeks for them to be ready to leave, so he had time to spare at the moment. One might think that since the Empire had defeated the rulers of Dreghel, they should take over them, but in reality, that wouldn't be beneficial to them in the long run. They had a peace treaty with the elves that involved items of trade that could only be made by elves.

If Thelwedean were to overtake the elves at this moment, the other empires wouldn’t hesitate to attack them.

At first, William wondered how so many elven officials were captured since they were all extremely powerful, but it turned out that Sylmare had used a potent paralysis poison to quickly inhibit their movements and then seal all of their energies with the unique chains. Since they got backstabbed by their own ally, they didn't have time to react to her poison.

Despite William being a first-stage mage and having awakened his aspect and Aura, he was utterly helpless. Even during his scouting, he had used his unique spell, which almost ended in him passing out despite not even fighting anyone.

Even though that was the case, it was thanks to this reckless action that he was able to find out Dean's existence and ask for assistance from the emperor.

He had no idea how Dean had become a Half-demon, but he would search his background even further to understand the situation. The resources one needed to become a half-demon were immense, especially when their demonic blood was highly diluted. This meant that Dean had a backing somewhere, a backing strong enough to supply him with resources that were highly beneficial to demons.

William knew he couldn't let his guard down, especially since he had no idea who or what was behind Dean's transformation. He decided to delve deeper into the matter as soon as he could get his hands on some reliable sources of information.

In the meantime, he focused on training, using his time to improve his magic and combat skills. He trained with the Aura Saints, who were more than happy to help him, and exchanged knowledge with the grand Mages of the elven kingdom, who had been imprisoned before.
