The goblin nation kept their word. In the almost three years since the incident, his ‘family’ issues were dealt with. Not once had Harry been harassed. At home he was entirely ignored by the Dursleys, he later found out that they were put under heavy compulsions that basically caused them to leave him be and treat him normally. Harry moved into the master bedroom after Vernon and Petunia ‘suspiciously’ moved into Dudley's toy room.
Harry's closet was warded and preserved by the request of Harry and Ragnok for proof of his living conditions for later on. He took up a new vault lord to help him manage his assets. The new vault lord informed him that his little hideout was a heavily warded property that his parents built in the lead up to the war. Harry finished the potion regimen that the goblin healers provided.
The seals put in place when he was a baby were undone one by one, all were gone besides the chain that tethered him to the Dursley residence.
It was finally discovered when the goblins attempted to ward Harry's ‘home’. The property wouldn't allow any new wards to be placed so the junior warders that were originally sent, called for senior warders. They found that there were already wards along the property, blood wards. They interfered in the placement of new wards, and were apparently highly illegal due to requiring human sacrifices and were extremely dangerous. They couldn't be brought down for fear that they would injure harry.
The medi goblins found that the chain from him led directly to the house and wrapped it entirely. It drained a portion of Harry's magical core to provide protection to Harry and the Dursleys. They told him that these blood wards were a significant factor in the near fracture in his magical core. Well, the wards combined with his magic needing to heal him almost daily from nearly lethal injuries, while being malnourished. He was put on a training regimen, both physical and magical. With knowledge of the blood wards it was a boon, the strain on his core helped him exercise his core more efficiently. He just needed sufficient rest and needed to pay careful attention to his core.
Harry finished the occlumency, mana control, wandless magic and the annoying political books Ragnok suggested. He researched the issues he would have upon claiming a lordship, or unsealing a vault. He also studied various books from the briefcases library and a few books from the bookshop.
Harry also made several trips into Diagon alley for various things. He bought a new pair of glasses after his eyesight was fixed, he bought a small pouch with an extended space that he used as a necklace, a first aid kit with enough potions to patch someone up from nearly being blown up. A few quills that would let him do research faster by putting words on a page as fast as he could think them. And various other items, mainly books. No matter how flat out wrong they were, the ideas in them were sometimes new to him and he enjoyed recreating some of them.
Not to mention all of the behind the scenes he knew the goblins were doing for him. A year ago for example, he saw a recall on all Harry-Potter-And-The- (insert annoying bit here) books. Apparently Harry Potter had sued the writers of all of those books for defamation of a most noble and most ancient household.
It was nearly his 11th birthday and he had it on good authority his Hogwarts letter would be arriving today. Gringotts mailboxes had already intercepted a number of letters that would be picked up by other students' parents. He wanted a box as well but Ragnok said it would be better to wait. Harry knew that Ragnok was distrustful of Albus Dumbledore, Harry was as well, but he hadn't really given it much thought since he was legally emancipated. The man had no hold over him, so why was Ragnok still so worried?
Harry heard the flapping of wings near his window and jumped to open it. As soon as the bird touched down, it dropped the letter on the window sill and took off. Harry hardly noticed it leave. He was too busy staring at the Hogwarts seal stamped on the front of the envelope.

He briefly glanced through the list of materials, he was only missing a couple items and his school robes.
It was finally time! He would be going to Hogwarts just like his mom and dad! He would need to go shopping for a bit of supplies but… Hogwarts! Harry DIDN’T spend nearly an hour celebrating with awkward dances and shouting. And if anyone tells you otherwise they are a liar.
----------------------------------------
The following month, Harry went to Diagon Alley to buy robes and the odd supplies he was missing.
Madam Malkin and her assistant helped him with not only robes but underwear (including thermals). They had suggestions, since it would get really cold where Hogwarts was and they wished they had some of these things to keep warm when they were in school. The robes and casual wear when robes weren't required took Harry almost an hour to model for the witches. He only escaped when another of the shop assistants all but demanded madam Malkin help the shop, which was admittedly extremely busy after everyone received their letters.
The next spot was the potions shop where Harry bought a set of decent brewing supplies. It wasn't anything flashy but it wasn't one of the sets that were set out to be cheap for students. Ritualist Sharpfang was actually the one to point it out to Harry. The base student package was the cheapest and in turn, lowest quality supplies in any shop in Diagon.
He visited the general store and bought a crappy telescope and a set of scales, and maybe a little bit of candy… he DIDN’T fill his pouch with enough candy to fill his old cupboard…Definitely not.
The final stop wasn’t really required. His library was only missing one book from the course books but he wanted to see if anything else caught his fancy, he had blown through most books in the briefcase and was getting a little worried he would run out of reading material soon.
This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.
The bookshop was the same as it was the last time he was here. The only difference was the amount of people. He usually refrained from visiting Diagon Alley after the Hogwarts letters since he and crowds didn't mix well.
After waiting in the line for far too long he finally made it to the counter. “Do you have the list?” trying to make it short so the man could continue his work.
Harry was a regular and had requested the list on multiple occasions, so the man knew what he meant.
The man handed Harry a sheet of newly purchased books without a word and was quickly roped back into answering questions and checking out purchases.
He strolled the isles while skimming the list for any books he hadn't heard of yet. Nearing the bottom of the list he found three in a row, one on magical theory, one on magical beauty products?, and one on household herbology. He was far too engrossed to take notice of the brown blur that rounded the corner and crashed headfirst into his chest.
“Ouch!”
Splayed on the ground, all Harry could see was the frizzy brown hair of the one who ran him over. Giving everything a check the best he could, he was surprisingly ok after the fall. A little pain in his chest and butt, but overall well.
The girl managed to climb off him while he was checking himself over. She stuck out her hand to help him up. When he saw her expression, he thought she was either going to bolt or scold him for being in her way. As he got up with the assistance. “Sorry, I know I shouldn't have been running but there's just so many books. It's all just so exciting!. Are you ok?” she said a tad fast, if one wasn't paying close attention it would be hard to parse.
“I'm fine, aside from some light bruising in the morning. My names Harry.” shaking the hand he was still holding after her helping him up.
She blushed, “sorry, I'm Hermione, Hermione Granger.” shaking his hand back before quickly pulling away.
“Muggleborn then?”
“How'd you know?” curious.
“Most people that grow up in the magical world don't see it as anything special. Let alone be enthusiastic about it.”
Blushing once more. “Right, I just learned about it all recently. Professor McGonagall only told us a couple things before leaving. It's amazing how there's an entire world that most people don't even know about!”
Harry had to take a second to process what she said, her fast speak becoming harder and harder to understand the more excited she got.
Before either could say any more they were interrupted by two adults that closely resembled the girl in front of him.
“Dear, don't run off like that. You could've gotten hurt or lost or-” the lady's tirade was halted by a nudge from the man at her side.
“Oh where are my manners? I'm Emma, and this is Dan.” gesturing to herself then the man.
“Harry.' 'shaking both of their hands.
The adults shared a look. If Harry didn't know they were muggles, he would've thought they were using magic to hold a conversation. Based on the expressions it seemed Emma was winning whatever argument it was. Finally Dan sighed.
“Harry, are you from around here?” At his nod Emma continued. “Would you mind helping us? All of this is new to us and we don't really know where to buy any of the supplies.” pulling out the Hogwarts list.
On one hand, Harry was planning on buying the new books and heading home. On the other hand, he could have someone in Hogwarts owe him before going. And maybe he can haggle something else from the Grangers here…
Avoiding the question. “What do you two do for work? There's few Muggleborn capable of joining Hogwarts, since its tuition is still so high.“ The way he put it was quite blunt and he knew it would be considered rude. Harry wanted to get a feel of the three and honestly he didn't want to wander Diagon anymore.
Dan and Hermione seemed to take the bait, but before either could say anything Emma burst into laughter.
“What's in it for you, yes?” still smiling at his attempt. “We’re both dental surgeons, we both also underwent training to become doctors in the military. ”Emma, still smirking.
That… was surprising. Not only did she see what he was doing but also went along with it. Not only that, they CLEARLY had much more to offer him than the opposite.
Putting on his noble facade. “Interesting…I believe reintroductions are in order. Harry Potter, it's a pleasure to meet you.” bowing to the group before him.
The Grangers reintroduced themselves seriously, while Harry shook and kissed hands.
The next couple hours were spent guiding the Grangers around Diagon alley and shopping. Harry made sure to give it his best after Emma made it known she would play the game.
----------------------------------------
The group just finished Harry's treat from Fortescue's, and were nearing to leave. When Harry felt it. The tug at his magic. He needed to find it.
The Grangers watched as Harry wordlessly left their table and quickly entered a shop nearby ‘Eeylops Owl Emporium’
They had to hurry and follow him. Emma, the first one in the shop, barely caught him turning the corner at the end of an aisle. The group was joined by the shopkeeper in following Harry to the back corner of the shop. The whole group was just in time to watch Harry, wordlessly and without notice on his part, magically pop the entire front off the cage in front of him.
Harry reached inside to the beautiful snowy owl. She gave a nip at his hand before hopping on his arm. Harry subconsciously knew she needed a name before the bond would finalize. Before he could even think of anything, one name popped into his mind. “Hedwig.”
The group watched Harry murmur something to the white owl before the whole shop.. Glowed. A bright green light, originating from Harry suffused the shop. Bringing a feeling of happiness to anyone nearby. Passersby felt content for the rest of their shopping day.
Nobody noticed Harry approach the dazed group until he cleared his throat. Addressing the shopkeeper he passed upon entering “I need everything you can recommend to care for her.” nodding to Hedwig, now perched on his shoulder.
“Y…Yes!”
This seemed to jolt the man out of his stupor since he quickly walked past the counter, into the back. Hopefully collecting the items Harry requested.
The still smiling Grangers just followed Harry to the counter where things were still being piled up.
It cost him nearly 20 galleons for the supplies and the man tried charging 10 for Hedwig herself. Harry scolded the man for even attempting to charge him for his familiar. Before the ministry was even established, people were killed for keeping a wizard and his familiar away from one another. Or both being kept away from each other for so long that both the wizard and familiar eventually died. Thus it was illegal to charge for a familiar, it was on the same level of murder.
After storing all of his items and leaving the shop. Harry was immediately barraged with questions, much to his annoyance. He liked Hermione and her curiosity but he didn't appreciate being interrogated, especially when she didn't allow him to answer any of her questions.
“Hermione! Enough. We've talked about this dear.” Emma finally cut in, if it had continued for much longer, Harry may have blown up on the girl. At least Hermione had the decency to look apologetic after the scolding.
Their foray into the magical world done. The Grangers invited Harry home with them, well Emma did anyway. Harry agreed, it was her turn now, after all. The ride was filled with Hermione gushing about all of the new things she saw in the alley. All things Harry had already thoroughly inspected and/or researched. He kept silent for the most part though, he didn't want to be barraged with questions again.
Less than half an hour and Harry started to notice the surroundings changing. They were driving into the more affluent side of town. Harry knew they'd be wealthy but he didn't expect them to be living so lavishly.
