The giant eagle crashed into the pole, seemingly unharmed from the spells. Kiresula and Kju barely dodged in time. Mayana immediately ran forward and cut into its wings, severing its feathers and hindering its ability to ever take flight. Kiresula dispelled [Sunlight] and then rushed to the other wing with a similar purpose.in the meanwhile, Kju sat down on the neck of the giant eagle and dispelled layers of protective enchantments on the bird, slapping the bird repeatedly whenever it looked as if it was regaining consciousness. Eventually, he asked them to assist him in throwing the bird off the pillar. Kiresula moved the soil under it and Kju did something to make the hugs animal marginally easier to handle. After a struggle, the bird fell down. It tried to flap its wings, but could not gain wind. A scarily long time later, the group saw and then heard the crash.
Mayana said: “This was the wind elemental eagle. You noticed how it reduced its wind resistance when flying?”
Kiresula shook her head: “I didn’t notice.”
Mayana made a vague gesture. “Maybe the magic used was the traditional one.”
Kju asked: “The next ones are water and stone.”
That was exactly when the blueish and the silverish giant eagle stopped circling like vultures and descended. The blue eagle sprayed a beam of water at the group which they could barely dodge – and just as they still tried to clamber to their feet again, the second one conjured rocks the size of a head and hurled them at the group. Kiresula threw herself to the ground again to get out of their trajectories. Mayana jumped erratically and slammed into the poplar tree, but the rocks missed her by a hair’s breadth. Kju ran and jumped over the incoming debris. As the eagles descended, once again, Kiresula prepared to cast sunlight.
Kju shouted incomprehensible syllables and his entire presence seemed to be focussed on the rock eagle. Moments later, it dropped from the sky for a few metres until it could catch itself, but it was too late. It hit the edge of the pole, which started to sway.
Kiresula reacted to this by losing first her balance and then her breakfast – and then was momentarily blinded by the spell that was still active. She rolled out of the way when she heard something and was blasted by water. She still stumbled to her feet and looked around. Kju was on the ground, panting, probably doing serenity, Mayana was clinging to the tree, the water eagle was in the air and about to descend and attack again. Kiresula threw a rock at it and it targeted her. As it did so, she dodged and used a [Fire Strike] against it. Her left side received a cut from the eagle’s beak but she hit the animal with a series of [Fire Strike]s until the animal flew out of her reach to try to attack again. Its head emitted steam from the strikes.
It descended and attempted to bite her again with its beak and she once again tried to dodge, but with her wound it became harder and she screamed in pain as she once again descended onto the animal and used a few [Fire Strike]s.
She looked at Mayana while dodging: “May I boost your Strength? I am feeling like I barely do anything to the animal.”
Kju got up and moved towards her: “Can you boost me? I am magically spent after taking down the rock eagle?”

Kiresula touched him and cast [Enhance Ability] to increase his Might. She used 400 Seren on this spell just like in the cell, but she balanced duration and enhancement this time. Then, she once again attracted the eagle with a few [Bites of the Elemental Beetle]. As she narrowly dodged the eagle’s attack, it shuddered with the attacks of Kju. Then, Kju threw the giant animal off the spire.
Kju smiled: “That’s more like it.”
Mayana shouted to the group: “The green eagle and the red eagle are attacking! Climb the tree!”
Kiresula didn’t need a second request and clambered up the tree. Mayana had gotten up there as well. Kju went to the tree, Kiresula helped him up onto the lowest branch. The group threw spells at the eagles. But the eagles didn’t attack the group, they flew directly into the spire, which then started to lean and collapse. The tree however remained rooted in the air and motionless.
The eagles seemed to be confused for a moment and then attacked the tree. Kiresula used [Fire Strike]s on the animal when it was close. Kju struck the fire eagle and Mayana, who was attacked by the green plant eagle and attacked it with her knife. It started to smoulder and flew away. Moments later, flames emerged from the eagle and it instead sat down on the tree while the fire eagle attacked again. Kiresula stopped using the spell and instead just slashed at the thing with her stone dagger. She tried to dodge but she was slashed several times. She tried to climb upwards to get herself out of the way. That was when she saw that the plant eagle tried to set the tree on fire by rubbing its burning wounds on the stem. She rushed upwards and slashed at its lower body and then, in a flash of inspiration, slashed the backside of the knees of the animal. The giant bird took flight again. It slashed at her with its claws while doing so and destabilised her. She fell forward and only managed to hold on to a much lower branch, her feet dangling in the air. She rocked back and forth until her feet found purchase. Then, she moved towards the stem. Or tried to. The fire eagle saw her precarious situation and pecked her. She screamed loudly.
Moments later, there was a crash. The eagle was struck by a branch. It flew away but more plant material hit it.
Moments later, the plant eagle crashed into it, burning from various holes in its body, which a healthy giant eagle wouldn’t have.
Mayana and Kju had worked together: She set branches on fire with the stone knife, he hurled them into the plant eagle, targeting the eyes.
Now, both animals could not regain flight and while falling also hit the rock eagle that was struggling to regain height after the collision.
Before long, a notification symbol appeared at the edge of Kiresula’s vision.
