"Hey, guys! This is God speaking! So, don't be mad, but I kinda sorta lost a bet with the fate of the world at stake, teehee. So, in 1 month from now, this world will begin to merge with another one based on fantasy and magic. Monsters and other creatures will start appearing and begin hunting down humans. Don't worry though, I will give everyone a super duper amazing power to help you guys survive! Each will grow and evolve as you do and depending on your actions and wishes! Good luck!"
Hysteria on an unprecedented level raged across the globe as the message was heard by every single person in the world. Pillaging, riots, mass suicides, cults popping up out of the woodworks. Within the first week, millions upon millions of lives were claimed by the chaos even before any of the monsters had appeared. Entire countries burned with the flames of civil war. Enough food and water rationed to last him another month, stacks of paper chock-full of survival guides he'd printed off the internet, change of clothing, 3 different escape routes planned out in case something got inside, and a couple of weapons he had spent the month practicing with. He was ready. If only he could've grabbed more supplies.
Oh well, no use complaining now.
Only a few more seconds before it would all start.
