Chapter 2 - Exploration

Chapter 2 - Exploration

With a slight swing of its arms, it raised its body and stabilized itself by using its nubs to gain a foothold. Standing upright it took in the sights, the spot that it had once rested now held a mound of dirt covered in a layer of filth that had not too long ago been staining the lily's petals. After, its transformation it had been miraculously cleaned and it was not complaining. What was truly mesmerizing to the sentient plant though, was the immense meadow that it now beheld. For as far as it could see rainbows of color littered the floor it stood on making its observer awe at its sheer diversity.

Feeling a slight itch in its chest, it looked down and began to softly rub at the spot. Sensing something squirming it stopped and saw a vine begin to protrude and elongate out of its torso. Within a few moments, the vine that was now ten centimeters away from it split into two strands and began forming a vertical rectangle. Feeling confused the lily waited patiently while whatever was going on happened; being an immovable plant for most of its life gave it the ability to be extremely tolerant when it came to slow progression. Once done, the formerly empty rectangle now held a dark transparent screen with the following information.

Congratulations, you have absorbed a 6th tier Potentiality Vision Stone.

Along with the benefits that come with this stones tier, you have been bestowed two gifts.

Scratching its head it brought its nubs to the base of the vine and began to yank as hard it could. Whatever this was it was getting on the lily's nerves, blocking its view of the plant haven it had been born in. It wasn't that it didn't understand the words, surprisingly; it was just that it didn't care. With another tug, the vine gave way and snapped of its chest with a loud crack and a slight sting. Chucking it on the ground, it watched as the vine and screen slowly began to fade away.

Not giving them another thought, it began its stroll through the oversized garden deciding to start its journey with the most foreign consortium of plants in its vicinity, the pine forest. Passing by the bevy of lilies that had been its neighbors it came across a grouping of various gymnosperms. Fifty to one hundred feet long pine trees lay in its path and it being the inquisitive lily that it was decided to find the biggest one in the forest. A few hours of searching and it finally came across what it was looking for, before it stood the largest tree the lily had ever come across. Its trunk alone easily had a diameter of seventeen feet and its height surpassed those in its vicinity by at least forty meters. Satisfied with its find it looked around and once again gave its head another scratch. The lily may have been lost but it wasn't hopeless turning back to the tree it began its climb to the top. Weighing almost nothing had its perks, it could burrow its nubs inside of the tree's loosely hanging bark and used that to propel itself upwards. After ten hours of repeating this process and falling several times it finally reached the top at sundown.

It couldn't help but be humbled at the sights. The meadow had been magnificent in its own right, but, this... this was truly outstanding. Ahead of it were Volcanic, Plateau, and Dome Mountains so tall they seem to surpass the clouds. Lakes which led out to what seemed like endless expanses of water. Fields of green and yellow grasslands with small structures spread throughout. Most notably, it could see a city or at least the beginning of one. With all these new sights came a new feeling to the lily, a sharp and distinct coldness in the pit of its stomach.
