Chapter 1: "Will It Work"

Chapter 1: "Will It Work"

Aaron looked out of the window, it was early in the morning, around 5 am. He stood there quietly thinking to himself. He had a plan that would either turn him into a legend or send him down the path of self-destruction.

As he stood there, looking extremely solemn, one would think he was an old man in deep thoughts. Instead, he was just a short 5 year old, with a demeanor and intelligence that does not match his age.

He has been like that for as long he could remember, while other kids were playing outside, he was instead at the library reading.Aaron always have a drive for knowledge, since the age of 3 he have been reading. Due to his age, the old man at the library never charged him the fee to enter the library. Instead, he appreciated the young boy who would come in everyday and read nonstop until it was closing time. The library was located 1 block away from where him and his father lived.

Normally it cost 1 copper coin to go to the library, which would have been hard for him to pay since his father make 20 copper coin per month, thus it would be hard to go to the library as much as he did on his father's salary.

Aaron live with his father, his mother died shortly after he was born. His father decided to not blame him for his mother's death and instead chose to shower him with all the love he had. Thus, anything he wanted to do, his father would support him to the best of his abilities.

His father worked as a cargo man, he loaded and unloaded packages on the boats at the harbor, from four to three. Thus, he did not have enough time to spend with his son. To his surprise his son never once complained about it instead his son would support him, and ever learned to cook when he was 4 years old. He would get home and find food ready for him, which would sadden him even more. Though he wanted to spend more time with his son, their family needed to eat, so he had to work, no matter how much it pains him.

When he first found out his son was cooking he tried to convince him to stop and instead just buy food to eat from the vendors, but his son never listened to him. He Would always come home and find a plate of food ready for him and his son missing. Though he knew where his son was if he needed him, as his son was always at the library. He was very thankful to the old man who guards the library as he allowed his son to come and go without paying the fee.

He always found it wired that his son was not like other kids, and instead like to spend time in the library quietly, though he was very thankful that his soon was like that. Due to his son being very mature, he did not have to worry about his son getting in trouble, as his son preferred learning and doing his own thing.Though, he still blamed it on himself, that his son was like that, thinking that its because of him being a bad father, that his son had to grown up quickly.

Aaron look out the window, still hesitating whether or not to go and apply the theory he had come up with over the last 2 years of reading. He lived in a world with the energy called Qi. Qi is said to everywhere, it is absorbed by people who are referred to as cultivators. It allows them to increase their lifespan and become strong enough to move mountains and rivers. Many types of Qi are respectively, evil, pure, and demonic Qi.

People are born with spirit roots, there are seven tiers of spirits roots, the higher the tier, the faster your cultivation speed is, and the more inclined cultivation sects are to recruit you, to become one of their disciples. Though, for someone like him or his dad they had no chance at ever becoming cultivators, as even if they did start, the would be wasted resources and not getting stronger, thus sects look down upon people with their talents.

Immediately, after birth families would take the babies to the talent stone at the center of the town since they lived in a poor place. There an invisible but strong power would appear from the stone and then a number would show. If the number is 4 or above then someone from the sect which controlled their village would come and talk to the parents about taking the kids in at age 5, to start their cultivation journey.Those 3 and below, were ignored.

Those families could be said, to step straight into heaven as those families would get a gold coin per month from the sects. 1 Gold = 100 silver = 10000 copper, thus it is easy to see how easy life became for them, as even his father worked hard everyday, just to make 20 coppers per day. Unfortunately though his spirit root is only level 1, the lowest of the low. He did not allow that that to phase him though, as he was determined to become a cultivator of his own right.

Through reading, he learned that there was another type of cultivators, those were body cultivators. They cultivate, similarly to regular cultivators, they stored Qi into their bodies instead of their stomach. That Qi would repeatedly refine their body making it stronger. While they are at level 1 of Body refining, they can fight someone at level 2 of Qi refining, thus making people more interested into it than Qi refining,

Though it stronger than Qi refiners, the pain and struggles accompanied with it is too much for 95 percent of the population, thus making the amount of body refiners, extremely low.Not to mention the number of resources, it takes to raise body refiners compared to Qi refiners. Thus, sects were more inclines to Qi refiners, though if a sect did have a elder level body refiner they are feared, very much by other sects with only Qi refiners.

The reason is simply that body refiners are stronger and have far more stamina and vitality than Qi refiners.Though they had the disadvantage, that if they cant get in close range to their enemy they cant do much. Making most of the body refiners attempt to duo cultivate Qi and body, just to give up , since they had to cultivate and refining their bodies at the dame time, making their progress slow. They had no choice but to give up if they did not want to get left behind.

Aaron himself, though, believe he had found a way to fix the problem and instead turn both of them into one full cultivation method. If any cultivators knew of his thoughts though, they would look at him as if he was an idiot, for all those who has tried it before him, failed miserably, and ended up crippled or dead. Aaron's own thought was "Will It work?"
