Chapter 3: The Prison

Chapter 3: The Prison

When I opened my eyes, I found myself lying on an old bed in a cell with an open door. I can now stand, although a bit tired, but I no longer feel pain. Despite wearing a hospital uniform, the wounds were gone. Outside the corridor was a long passage shrouded in darkness. Everything in this place stinks and smells damp, there are even mice that have lost bones. Where did those bones come from...

"What's the...?"

Looks like I've found the source of those bones. It looks like a human skull. And not only in this room. I began to walk cautiously through the dark corridors, each cell I passed, it is either dried corpses surrounded by flies, or scattered skulls and spines. I come to investigate the body that remained. The body was handcuffed and filled with scars caused by a whip. The best thing I could do for them wishes that their next life of them will be better than this. I feel so nauseous, Z where the hell is you sending me.

"He..hee…he" A giggles burst out at the end of this chamber.

The iron door was opened. Whoever they are, I need to raise my guard, or else I will become another's unlucky fate here. I hid in a nearby cell and looked at the iron door

"Hehehe…Just me here, little girl."

It is a little girl. I need to help her or else... I got out of my hiding place and ran to the iron door. I saw a guy who looked like 30 years old was holding a rope in one hand and the other hand was holding the right hand of a girl about 7-8 years old. He sees me, then he drops ropes, kicks her into the cell, and threatens to pull out his dagger.

"What are you anyway, how did you get in here?"

Judging from what he's done, it doesn't seem like this guy is good. I didn't answer, it seemed to drive him crazy, he ran over and swung the dagger.

"If you keep your mouth shut then take that answer down with Deathius."

I took a step back to avoid his dagger, however, he slashed through my body. Luckily the wound wasn't very deep. If I want to defeat him I need to take that dagger. I took his hand and squeezed it.

"Ahh…"

It seemed the force of my grip was strong enough to make him drop the knife. I kicked the knife to the side of the door and delivered a powerful blow to his stomach.

"HEL…"

Fortunately, I covered his mouth so he wouldn't call his accomplices. I gave him another smack in the face. He fainted. I quickly grabbed the rope to tie him up. And covered his mouth with a piece of cloth that I tore off using the clothes I was wearing.

"Dragon ?"

Hang on, the girl. I went to a nearby cell, she sat in a corner of the room. She had long, messy black hair and was wearing an old shirt that seemed like poorly patched pieces of cloth. Wait. The horns and the small shrinking tail? Is she not a human right? As I approached, she was scared, tears welled up in her pink eyes, and kept backing away helplessly while covering her right biceps with her left hand. Although I didn't know what she was covering, I quickly tore a part of my shirt off and wrapped it around the spot she was covering. I didn't know if it would help, but I knew that I needed to do it for her. The tears had stopped falling somewhat, but the little girl was still shaking and scared. I took her hand and started walking out of the cell. I stood still and analyzed my surroundings. It seems the exit door was locked by the key lying on the thug's body. There seemed to be no one else in these cells but the three of us.

"T..h..a.."

Her mouth looked as if she hadn't drunk water for days.

"Wait until we get out of here, then say whatever you want."

"Um.."

There was a knock on the door. I was startled. I pulled the girl and quickly went to the side of the door to ambush if someone entered.

"Hey, you bastard I know you're in there."

My heart beat wildly. Will he come in?
