A NEET's Happiness
The Disgrace is shameless

The Disgrace is shameless

The streets outside were enveloped in a orange light, giving the old buildings an eerie feeling. They seemed abandoned and empty, there were no lights behind the old fashioned curtains and no human soul wandered the those streets at night.

Well, except one of course.

When else was she supposed to get her food from the small take near the city center? Naturally not during the daytime when the summer sun was blazing hot. She wouldn't want her pale skin to get burned after all. And the people! Too many people outside during the bright hours. She prefered the quiet nights.

In her hand the bag filled with her midnight snack swayed with her steps. The rustling of the plastic overpowered the sound of her sneakers as she walked past those old buildings filled with sleeping people and approached a small little house up the hill with the little tree in front of it. She unlocked the front door and walked up to the door at the back of the hallway. The house gave shelter to three people, each had their own little apartments in this godforsaken place.

Entering her place she threw off her shoes lazily and threw her keys carelessly into the smal basket she had woven a few years ago for whatever reason. She didn't want to remember it so she didn't. It was useless information anyway.

The dark room was illuminated by a laptop standing on a dark table near the wall. She didn't bother about turning the lights on but simply walked over to the computer and sat down in front of it, putting her take out down next to it. With a few quick movements she put the headphones back on and smiled.

I am back guys, she typed into the guild chat.

A friendly user welcomed her and she checked out the area around her in the online mmorpg she was obsessed with. The user support sucked as usual but she never encountered any problems that would need any support services.

Bored she entered slayer mode and wondered if she should go look for someone she could kill. Quickly she spotted someone and frowned. Her own level was lower than the person standing next to the NPC, probably doing some kind of quest. She would lose in a fight. But since this place was pretty remote, she couldn't find any other players over the protected levels that she could possibly kill.

Moody she grabbed her take out and decided to eat as long as she still had some time. Soon the dungeon runs will be resetted and the other guild members will look for partners to pass them with. Until then she still had some time to goof off and relax.

During her meal thought she watched absentminded the motionless player stand next to that one NPC for quite some time. No matter how illiterate someone was, no one would take that long reading the instructions to a quest. The player must have been afk.

With a smirk she put her oily fried noodles away and grabbed her mouse once again and her fingers moved quickly as she used her signature sequence of skills and slowly drained the player in front of her of their HP. With a chuckle she watched the avatar drop down and quickly left the scene, watching delightful at her now red slayer value.

Let the chase begin!
