TRIDENT PART 1

TRIDENT PART 1

CASE FILE

(Juke Floyer)

Diagnose: Split personality disorder

(observation)

Currently have 2 different personalities that are known and mostly switch between both of them quite often. Both personalities do harbor certain hate for one another. The main personality is called Juke and he was an actor, but after a certain incident, he was sent here for further observation. The second personality technically has no name but he calls himself Joke. The way he behaves is somewhat off-putting.

Signing out DOC Brenner

Brenner sent the latest report to his superior. For further documentation on Juke's behavior to be used in court for the recent murder case.

[ The case for Juke is a scary one. I need to pay more attention when interacting with them }

Brenner just let out a sigh as he is contemplating what to do with both of them.

The scent of aroma slowly starts to tantalize Brenner's nose.

“ Another hard case?”

Brenner's eyes were focused on the coffee mugs that Jessica was holding with both hands.

“ It’s complicated.”

As he holds out his hand to receive the coffee that Jessica prepared for him

“Who said this was for you?”

“You are holding 2 coffee mugs so I assume, 1 of them is mine.”

Jessica looks at Brenner coldly

“Sadly for you both, the coffee is mine.”

“Come on Jess, you also know I pull an all-nighter looking after this patient.”

“And you have a counseling session with Juke right now.”

Brenner brings up his watch to confirm Jessica's words.

“ Guess I will talk to them again.”

The room was devoid of colour, sitting at the center of the room was Juke. As Brenner came into the room and greeted Juke, he noticed how Juke was playing with his finger, while he was shining with signs of life even though he looked tired and devoid of life.

“Doctor, it was me who did it. It was me who killed Selene.”

Brenner with a stoic expression

“Joke, stop pretending to be Juke.”

Joke stop all his acts and just laugh hysterically.

“Doctor, are you sure, you are normal? You even managed to differentiate me and Juke which to my memories, no one could tell us apart. Heck, even Juke did not know I even existed until recently.”

“Thank you, but you can just say it is occupational sickness due to working in this field for quite a long.”

Joke stares at Brenner like he was eyeing a prey, waiting for the perfect time to hunt it down.

“By the way Doc, how did you figure out, I was Joke instead of Juke.”

“Well, there will always be some mistakes from acting. Since you are not Juke and you despise him. There is no way you can perfectly act as him.”

Joke sat in silence reflecting on how he could improve his acting.

“Joke, explain to me why you despise Juke so much. You even purposely kill his lover on set and even purposely change back to Juke, making him watch his lover's life slip out of his hand.”

Joke for once put on a soft smile.

“There was once a boy who live in harmony with both of his personalities. You could say he was the main personality of the body. While the other 2 personalities mostly play the angel and the devil, to guide him through his life to achieve his goals. During those times everyone was happy, Both the devil and the angel devoted their lives to helping the Main personality to see him happy. He was our world but it all changed.”

“Ting.”

“Is it already time? My bad, continue with your story.”

“Doc let’s end it here today.”

Joke stood up and left the room to avoid taking any more than he should.

Brenner just let out a sigh

[Just when he was about to tell me, his past from his perspective]

“Brenner? You already made your rounds.”

Jessica looks at Brenner with disbelief.

Brenner gives a smile to Jessica with an all-knowing smile to answer her.

“I know, I tend to be lazy but that does not mean I'm not an efficient worker.”

An index finger and a thumb went to Brenner's cheek.

“OUCH!!”

“Why would you pinch me, Jessica?”

Jessica looks at her fingertip calmly, staring it with amazement.

“This feels too real to be a dream.”

“OF COURSE, THIS IS NOT A DREAM!! In fact, why would you pinch me to finger me if this was a dream.”

“I’m not dumb enough to hurt myself just to test if this was a dream. After all, just by touching, I could tell if this was a dream.”

“Damn, and you still decide to pinch me to test out, talk about ruthless.”

“I’m only ruthless to you 'cause I know you long enough, hence I trust you.”
