A Mortal God
The Storm God

The Storm God

Within the depths of the great forest, Felix, a rogue god of the sun once known by many titles and epithets such as The Noon Star, the White Light, and the Scorcher, ventures along with brother, Markus and his brother's friend, Paige.

"Felix, why exactly are we here?" Markus asked.

"Sadly I don't have an answer to such an existentially loaded question, you have to find that answer yourself," Felix replied.

"No dumbass! Why are we here? Lurking around the blasted forest?!" Markus exclaimed.

"That false god said something about his master being nearby, I will not rest until I find him."

"Felix, we've been looking for this guy for three days, is there not a slither of a possibility that the false god that was trying to kill us, made up some nonsense to get us chasing nothing?" Said Paige.

"It's impossible to lie to me, I'm like a walking lie detector," Felix said.

"Yeah, sure you are." Markus scoffed.

"I don't like your tone," Felix said.

"Forgive me that it took just one short month for us to have enough of your nonsense," Markus said.

"What was the nonsense he said the other day?" Paige asked.

"He lied about going toe to toe with a Celebrus," Markus said.

"I lied?!" Felix exclaimed.

"Come on Felix, you said you and your friend Theo fought the Celebrus Vangris and survived," Paige said.

"And what about it?" Felix replied.

"What do you mean, what about it? Don't get me wrong, you are a very powerful god, but saying you and your friend defeated Vangris is like saying two ticks fought a man to the death and won." Said Markus.

"I never said we fought him, he was trying to kill Theo and I helped him escape." Said Felix.

"Ok, but why would Vangris care about your friend Theo, like Markus said, you two would have been like ticks to him," Paige said.

"When the storm god toyed with the powers of the sky, The embodiment of the sky, Vangris, was bound to show," Felix said as he turned back and saw both their faces looked in complete shock.

"What's up with you two?" Felix asked.

"Are you saying that your friend Theo is the Storm god?!" Paige asked.

"Yeeaah?" Felix asked with a puzzled expression.

"The same storm god that went around killing hundreds of gods?" Markus asked.

"There hasn't been a second storm god before," Felix replied.

"He was your friend?" Paige asked.

"We were acquaintances," Felix replied.

"Quick question, HOW HAVE YOU NOT BEEN HANGED?!" Markus exclaimed.

"It's a long story involving the new Eser king and a bunch of……." Felix said as a massive lightning strike from a short distance away from them rapidly shook the ground shortly before its thunder nearly deafened them.

"Galic's roots, my ears!" Paige exclaimed.

"That was not natural lightning," Felix said.

"What was that? Can't hear!" Markus shouted.

"You two, follow me," Felix ordered as he dashed towards the lightning origin.

"Hey, Felix! Wait!" Markus exclaimed as both he and Paige raced after Felix.

All three ran through the darkness of the forest, passing by the numerous dead flora and fauna who all seemed to be the victims of a rapidly spreading forest fire. Their running was interrupted when they bumped into Nova and Leon, who both seemed to be running away from the source of the lightning.

As Nova was in a state of complete shock and terror the moment she locked eyes with the three, she immediately conjured shards of ice, pointing them at the three.

"Whoa! Watch where you point those things!" Markus exclaimed.

"I don't know what you were running from but we are not part of it. Right, Felix." Said Paige.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

"Boy, that thunder, it was your creation?" Felix asked.

"I, I don't know. I guess it was, I don't know. I just black out and.." Leon rambled.

"Whoever you are out there, can you stop lurking around in the dark like some pervert and show yourself already?" Felix said. From the thick darkness of the forest emerged their attacker, his body charred and bruised all over.

"You seem to be in bad shape, that was some thunder you withstood," Felix said.

"Who are you?" The attacker scoffed.

"You're Ordin aren't you? the bit of your hood that isn't charred up has the Ordin crest on it." Felix asked.

"Who exactly are you?" The attacker asked again.

"I'm just a man looking for an answer to my question, that question being why in Galic's flame has false gods been popping up all over the pla…" Said Felix as he dodged a ball of black flame the attacker hurdled at him.

"Listen, My name is Aggrov the conqueror, as that title suggests, I have faced armies of Gods and mortals and have lost to none. But today I received the biggest disgrace. It was supposed to be easy. Once the blasted false gods found her, I was supposed to come get the emblem, but that boy, a boy that reeks like a wretched mortal, did this to me. Even if I have to kill a thousand obnoxious bastards just like you, nothing is stopping me from getting the emblem the girl holds and killing that boy. So I ask this one again, WHO IN THE FOUR REALMS ARE YOU?!" He yelled.

"The name's Felician, Felix for short, some know me as the white star, some know me as the Noon Night always hated that one. But, the title that really matters at the moment is what Ordin gods like you call me, Felix the Scorcher. You come here acting all high and mighty whilst you whine and complain that you got your ass handed to you by a lad you thought was just a mere mortal, how pathetic of you. Your little ego as this big bad conqueror was shattered by someone you thought was insignificant." Felix mocked.

"Watch your tone!" Aggrov snared.

"Or what?" Felix asked.

In his rage, Aggrov dashed towards Felix with such speed that he was invisible to the eyes of the younger gods, but even with this great speed, Felix countered this with an incredibly bright flash of light that when dimed, revealed Aggrov is with a blown apart jaw.

"ARGGHH!" Aggrov mumbled incomprehensibly.

"Galic's roots! Your jaw is incredibly weak." Felix exclaimed.

"So should we continue this dance or will you do me a favor and answer my questions," Felix said as Aggrov spat blood in his face.

"You have no idea how much you are going to regret that." Said Felix as his ash-colored eyes began to glow a magnificent yellow, matching the hue of the sun.

“Oh child for the Galic flame, thou who lives under the light of the golden sun. bear witness. FISTS OF STARDUST!” Felix chanted as he began to pummel Aggrov with punches strengthened marble-sized suns that exploded with intense firepower on impact, each punch in the barrage of punches dealt such an explosive blow.

"Have you had enough?! Will you talk now?" Felix asked.

"vestil," Aggro muttered under his breath.

"What was that?" Felix asked.

"VESTIL!" Aggrov yelled before vanishing into thin air.

"NO! AFTER ALL MY SEARCHING, I HAD HIM!" Felix exclaimed.

"Is he gone?" Nova asked.

"Yeah, the bastard ran away back to….." Felix said as Leon jumped up and began running towards the town.

"Leon! Wait for me!" Nova exclaimed as she chased after him.

"You two, wait! I need to discuss it with you!" Felix exclaimed as he chased after both of them.

They reached the town, where Leon immediately began searching through the pile of rubble that was once his home.

"What is he looking for?" Felix asked Nova, halting her in her search.

"His aunt, Aggrov came here and burnt down the whole town, he was searching for his aunt before he show…" Said Nova.

"I FOUND HER!" Leon exclaimed as he pulled out the bruised and mangled body of his aunt Opal.

"She is still breathing, but barely. We have to go get her help." Said Leon.

"Leon, is that you?" Opal asked softly.

"Yeah, it's me," Leon replied.

"Thank goodness, I don't know how I'll confront your mother if you weren't," Opal said.

"Don't worry about that now, just save your strength while I go find help."

"I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"Your mother always cared so much about you, and I always wanted to fill in her space after she died. It was way too big of a space to fill, I ended up seeming overbearing and extra. I'm sorry."

"You are forgiven, now please don't use up your strength so that you will have enough when help is gotten.

"I want you to know that I truly did love you in spite of all your annoying quirks, you're a good kid," Opal said.

"She isn't breathing! She needs immediate help! Felix, you're a strong god, can you help?! " Leon asked.

"There is nothing that can be done. SHE'S ALREADY DEAD." Felix said as his words brought Leon down to his knees, wailing so loudly that his shit began drenched in his own tears.

Hours passed as they all sat in awkward silence around a small fire in the middle of the desolate town.

"I just realized, we never introduced ourselves," Markus said, breaking the silence.

"Is that appropriate to do at the moment?" Paige asked.

"Why would it be? It is just telling each other our names." Said Leon.

"Ok then, I'll go first. My name is Markus, I'm the second-born son of the deceased sun goddess."

"My name's Nova, child of one of the frost legions, don't know which one."

"Paige, Orian's daughter."

"Leon, I don't know what god I'm related to, until today I was sure I was mortal. I don't know why this godly power just popped up now."

"Grace entrapment," Felix said.

"What?" Leon asked.

"I've seen something like this once, a god's grace is sealed away only to be reawakened when a specific situation occurs that the individual who sealed it set," Felix said.

"If that's the case, who sealed away my grace?" Leon asked.

"Probably your father," Felix said.

"My father, how can you be so sure?" Leon asked.

"I knew him and Grace's entrapment was something he knew how to do."

"You knew my father?!"

"Yeah, you look just like him but with black hair instead of white. His name was Theo but most people just called him by his title."

"What was his title?"

"THE STORM GOD," Felix said as the four young gods became silent with shock.
