Does god exist?
Do unicorns exist?
Does fate exist?
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
There are many such ideas out there, creating endless conflict between those that believe and those that do not. If I say that humans walk on two legs, there would be someone out there that says we walk on four legs.
I was once an ardent believer. A zealot. I dedicated my life to it even with no end in sight. What did I believe in you might ask? I believed that every human was good. That in the dark, there would always be light.
That belief was the biggest mistake of my life. A mistake so large that made me go to heaven. Or maybe hell where fiery fire burned. At least that was what I believed where I would go.
I was lying on a white marble flooring that stretched across the whole wide room. On top of me was a vast starry sky, each star was a different color, a different shape, a different brightness. The stars shone and illuminated the room. Despite the starry sky, I was in the confines of a grand hall with majestic pillars rising up around the room to support the starry sky.
“Your highness.”
A man dressed in a white suit of armor knelt and bowed down to the woman who was sitting on the throne on top of the steps. On his right hand was a greatsword stained red with blood.
For him, the marble floor must have felt cold, but it was warm and comfortable for me.
“Hahaha.”
I let out a depraved petty laughter. At least with that, during this moment, I was feeling more comfortable than him.
“I have finished executing the traitor.”
“Thank you.”
My laughter was completely ignored as they continued with their conversation.
“Is your left arm alright?”
“This is only a minor wound. The sacrifice was worth it.”
The man said calmly. Not even a trace of pain could be seen on his face.

I despised him with all my heart. 9 years I have known this man. He was always a hypocrite: a two face person.
"Your valiant sacrifice will be remembered. For your lost arm, you shall be given 1000 hectares of land in the most prosperous part of the Empire as compensation."
"Thank you for your generosity, Your Highness. I shall go and dispose of this traitor's body now."
"Just a minute John. I still have some use for him."
The woman finally got up off her throne as she gracefully came down the steps. Her platinum hair fluttered every step she took. She proceeded to walk towards me as she squatted in front of me. Her skin was as fair as the white dress she wore. She had numerous expensive jewelry on her wrists. The most notable one of all was a platinum watch that reflected the starlight in the room.
"What a pathetic state you're in."
"At least I have my pride held high. And look at you squating in front of me. We're basically on the same level now."
I retaliated as I stared back at her. I had to admit she was one of the most beautiful women in the world that you could find. Her big eyes with star-shaped pupils looked back at me.
"I trusted you, but you turned out to be a traitor."
"I guess that trust wasn't enough then, you should have followed what I told you."
"To be cautious of the sun?"
She scoffed at me.
"You should have told me something more believable. You're just a reflection of them anyways."
"I warned you. Ugh."
I spat out a mouthful of blood from my mouth. The blood made a magnificent arc and landed on her shirt.
"Disgusting, getting your filthy blood on my shirt."
The women exclaimed in disgust.
John immediately followed up with, "Shall I end him now for blaspheming you, Your Highness?"
"No need. I won't be seeing him again after today anyways."
"Oh my bad, Your Highness. As you can see I should have moved away with this non-existent body of mine. As you can see I have neither arms nor legs and I can't even twist my neck."
I retorted to their conversation sarcastically as I soaked in my own blood on the floor.
The only saving grace was that the pain was so great that I couldn't feel anything anymore.
"I can tell. Your neck is about to fly off in a few minutes anyways. Don't worry, I will make sure to give you a proper burial after."
"Thank you for being oh so kind."
"Your Highness, you mustn't be so soft to this traitor. His body should be fed to the wolves."
"Hey, don't you know that your precious Highness and I were best friends? Stop coming into our conversation cough"
Once again I coughed up blood that made its way towards her dress.
"Friends? Looks like you have nothing else to say."
She turned and walked away as her dress fluttered.
"Remember my warning. Cough. It was nice knowing you."
I couldn't see her but her head probably didn't even turn back. Her steps did not even hesitate as she continued walking away. I was finally left alone, spending my final moments with no one else but me.
“Sigh.”
I looked up at the starry sky one last time as I drew my final breath.
At that moment, the golden watch on the boy's hand began to spin. Slowly, the hands moved from 10 to 9, then 8. The hands began to gain momentum as it spun until the hands couldn’t be seen anymore. As if resonating with the watch, the world shook. The vast ocean divided creating a trench throughout the world and the sky split in half revealing the stars. Suddenly a bang could be heard throughout the world. The glass on the golden watch began to crack as the hands slowly came to a halt.
Despite the tremors of the world, no one noticed anything. The boy laid quietly on the cold white marble flooring deep into the night.
