Welcome to Terra, A world filled with Heroes, Villains and Anything in between... this world is populated with thousands of different Races and Species but what makes this world so different that others... well, that because of Mana - the energy that can bend reality if refined and used correctly.
Mana can turn the most mundane creatures into the horrific or majestic beast of fantasy and fiction, when any organism is exposed to Mana is its most raw form, it causes the creature to mutate and evolve at high speeds, when exposed to Substances and environments it causes them to warp and change down to an atomic level, but their is no being capable of controlling how mana changes something, but if they can it is usually through the use of class skills or heavily modified artifacts.
Well... their is one species that has the ability to control mana to alter ecosystems and objects. Dungeons, or to be more specific, dungeon cores... they are a crucial species to Terra's existence as they can absorb and generate pure unrefined mana, but mainly they are where the many fantastic beast that inhabited Terra originated.
Dungeon cores are small, Usually spherical gems that act as a dungeons heart and brain, no core, no dungeon. They protect themselves from invaders by creating beings from mana of warping existing creatures into their servants, they grow stronger by killing and absorbing XP from invaders, but the opposite can happen and the invaders can grow by killing the dungeons servants.
That's why in exchanged for not being Destroyed or enslaved the dungeons will reward the invaders... or the more widely used term, Players for killing some of their beast or clearing the dungeon. Dungeon can also receive XP from Players completing certain quest or killing beings and because of this, even the most blood thirsty dungeons wont kill all players, but most will fall under the kill category.
Without invaders the dungeon can't grow and without dungeons players growth will slow exponentially, So it became a silent rule that Players and Dungeons will try their best to defeat the other, while not utterly destroying one another.
Dungeons are born when massive amounts of raw mana collapses in on itself and forms a Core at the central point of the collapse, Many individuals throughout history have tried to create dungeon cores by the same method but none have succeeded, it was only a century ago when Terra found out how Dungeon cores are born... Higher existences are needed to create Cores. The various gods had reveal that they were responsible for the birth of Dungeons both as a way to test the existing races and create new species.
Most dungeons take up space in the world of Terra, but dungeons that wield magic above the Basic element will probably reside within a pocket realm, which can only be accessed through gates.
[Now that you have a basic idea of what we are getting into, it's time to start the prologue]
----------------------------------------
It was silent, utterly and unnervingly silent as a chilling voice spoke to itself while standing in the center of a forest of red and orange leaves, the figure was wearing a cloak, its face was shrouded in shadows with the only aspect that could be seen was two pairs of glowing white eyes.
The figure held up a fist and opened it, revealing a black and blue gem the size of a tennis ball, A voice spoke into its mind. [Creation of High class Dungeon core successful... Core possesses High class element of Abyss and the greater class element of the Sea].
The cloaked figure nodded to itself and thought one thing "I wonder how this one is going is going to turn out, which path will it take, Good or Evil or will it stay in-between the 2, only time will tell", the figure released the gem as it landed on the ground and the core vanished leaving behind an arch way with a swirling black gate within the frame, almost reminiscent of a whirlpool of inky black water.
A crack appeared behind the figure, as they turn to leave the glance back at the archway and chuckle "For some reason I feel like I'm gonna enjoy interacting with you in the future. I can tell that your already developing a personality... will you be kind or cruel?" the figure walked forward and vanished through the crack.

Hours pass and something stirs to life within the pocket realm.
[Beginning dungeon awakening program]
The apple sized gem found itself embedded within solid stone and on instinct uses mana to clear out a space around itself, 10m X 10m X 5m cube with the gem floating at the center.
[M = Meter]
[CORE AWAKENING SUCCESSFUL, READYING TUTORIAL]
"Quiet down will ya!?!" the core screamed at the voice within its consciousness.
[Core awakening successful, tutorial will start now]
"you really are annoying aren't you?" the core spoke to the voice again.
[You are a dungeon core and your job is to build a dungeon to test and possibly kill the invaders]
"Interesting" the core thought to itself.
[you will accomplish this by using mana to warp your environment like when you first awoke]
"Ok" the core said.
[You can use mana to create Creatures, objects, substances and various other things to lure in and fight invaders]
"seems doable so far?" they thought.
[customize and create new creatures and material never seen anywhere in terra's history]
"This is starting to sound kind of fun"
[Due to being of the Abyss type and the Sea type, you can receive additional XP by scaring or causing large amounts of negative responses in creatures... your creations will natural have an off-putting, unnerving and creepy aura surrounding them, coursing through every cell in their bodies]
"So I get more XP by scaring people and I get XP when I kill them" the core stopped and considered something "If I can receive XP by letting them do task and scaring them, what's the point in killing them... more beings more XP over time".
[XP gained thought killing is Ten times that of XP gained though non violent means... population control as well as creating strong individuals is the role dungeon cores play in Terra]
"So I'm here to make sure people don't get lazy and kill off weak individuals... sound easy and reasonable" the core thought.
[The minimum room count for any dungeon is 5 rooms per floor and the maximum room count is 15, the amount of monsters per floor is currently 50, Amount of chest per floor is 5, to finish the tutorial please create or choose a starting unit and create at least 5 rooms]
"ok then, time to get to work" they said then immediately stopped "hmm... should I make something normal for now, or should I start with the creepy theme brewing in my mind... I choose option two" they said as they actually began working.
