A master
The master's companion

The master's companion

The tall man wearing all black and the red-haired girl stood in front of what was once a tower, now a

pile of ruins. The closest cottages were miles away, out of sight. They were surrounded by green

planes. And here, far from the village, the air tickled their faces and smelled nice.

“You really had to be an ass, didn’t you?”, the girl, stretching her neck to look at him, said

reproachfully.

“Wait, you heard us?”, the man broke into an exaggerated astonished expression looking down at

her. “You devilish girl”.

His expression made her grin briefly, but she switched back at once to her reproachful look and

frowned even more. “And what’s the deal with that tower thing of yours, it’s in ruins. Where are we

supposed to stay now?”

The tall man looked intently at her for a moment. He then looked towards the tower in ruins and

smiled.

“That tower was initially built for the masters, hundreds of years ago. Generations of masters must

have stayed in it when helping the people that lived around here. It’s heritage girl, a heritage.”

Passion was felt within his words, and his eyes, it seemed for the girl, were watery.

The master spread his legs energetically, spaced his arms into a fighting position, and looked

defiantly towards the tower. The girl was growing with excitement anticipating the master’s show.

As he punched the air powerfully with his wound, the ground shuddered, and the girl trembled

watching with her mouth open the ruins soundlessly standing up and floating in the air, molding

themselves together smoothly, as if they were made of clay. In a couple of minutes, the sculpture

was already finished, and the master staring proudly at his masterpiece, showed no signs of fatigue.

The tower now stood tall, with carved marble coating it. Curved lines and geometric shapes

embellished it. At the top, a bowl like shape was so pure that the sky and clouds were reflected on it.

“What do you think?”, the master walked towards the tower while asking her, as if not awaiting an

answer. And he didn’t receive one.

“I’ve seen there is a forest around here, I’m going there.” The girl shaking off her astonishment

announced.

“Be careful around there, I sense something weird about that forest.”

“Forests are my home master, you’re not gonna teach me about them.”, the girl’s voice was full of

arrogance.

“Wait”, the master yelled, and pointed the wound towards her. Suddenly she felt something

weighting on her head, she took a lock of hair, and the color was blonde.

“I put a wig on your hair, it’s better to stay discreet.”

The girl nodded in apprehension and started running vigorously towards the forest.
